Chapter 31: Welcome back, Arashi!
'It's been another month since then, Shisui lived up to his word and trained us since then. Today we did shuriken jutsu training before getting ready.
And after that, I was finally going back to the academy.'
"Thanks for the food!"
They feast as they speak about recent events, Arashi was doing well, he rarely suffered as much as before, and he even seemed a lot happier, things were finally getting better for him.
Before they left, Arashi helped Shisui clean up the house, as they left, Shisui called Arashi aside.
"I have a gift for you at the end of the day." Arashi widened his eyes.
"A gift?" He asks curiously,
"Meet me at Naka River at sundown. Itachi will be there too." Arashi nodded.
Arashi left the house and ran towards Sasuke's house.
"Hey, let's go already!" Arashi yelled as he called Sasuke.
"Hold on I'm already on my way."
Sasuke said goodbye to Itachi and his parents and then left with Arashi.
On Their way to the academy, Arashi and Sasuke passed by Kakashi's house. Naruto had moved into his house a few weeks ago.
Knock! Knock!
Naruto hurried through the door and ran ahead,
"Wahaha!" Naruto laughs as he pushes through,
"Huh?!" Arashi and Sasuke's eyes widened.
"Wait up!"
Arashi and Sasuke jumped ahead and joined in on the race,
Before they arrived, Iruka spoke to the students already there and tried to help smoothen things for Arashi,
"Now listen up everyone, he hasn't been with us for a while but that's because he had an illness so I'd like you all to give a warm welcome to him.
Welcome back, Arashi."
Arashi walks in…
For a moment, the class is silent, the kids inside stare at him and then recognise him. Immediately afterwards, many people surround him to congratulate him,
"Congratulations!"
Arashi was feeling a little shy from all these people staring at him,
"Hold on I…
I don't even know some of you…" his voice was too silent though, too many people were speaking at once and Arashi's voice was still sore.
On the plus side he didn't have to keep correcting them about his name, Arashi's Uchiha rumours spread like an infectious disease.
Shisui didn't let this affect Arashi too much, but it slightly did .
However being an Uchiha and a prodigy had a great effect.
Arashi became popular with the girls in his class, not that he wasn't before. He was the best at everything he did, and from today people would see if he still had it in him.
"Welcome back Arashi!" They all greeted him.
"Thanks," Arashi said before going to his seat.
He takes a deep breath following his battle through his peers,
As usual Arashi wasn't the type to be overjoyed about something unless it was training with Shisui or hanging out with Naruto,
After a few moments Iruka began the class,
"I'm sure you've been reading and revising to catch up with the rest so I don't think we should hold back anything." Iruka took his notebook and looked at the schedule.
"Let's see… that's right today we're studying shinobi history."

While Iruka taught them about Shinobi History, Shisui and Kakashi met above the Hokage statues.

Shisui was sitting on top of the 4th Hokage's statue, Kakashi arrived late, and as usual, he was reading his favourite book,
"What took you so long?"
"Sorry, I was helping an old lady cross the street, but I'm here now." Kakashi put the book in his pocket.
"What's up?" He asks,
"I'm meeting with Lord third today.
I want to discuss matters of the clan, it's not getting better, Kakashi.
I have to do something about it, after all, Arashi is someone I have to consider now, isn't he?" Kakashi nods,
"So do you have a plan?"
Shisui nodded.
"I do." Shisui reached for his eye.
"Kakashi, no one else apart from Itachi and Arashi knows this but…
I have the Mangekyou Sharingan."
Kakashi widened his eyes.
"Mangekyou Sharingan?"
"Tonight, the Uchiha clan is having their last meeting before the coup d'état.
I called you here to tell you that I plan to use my ability, Kotoamatsukami to control Fugaku's mind."
"I see…"
They sat in silence for a while,
Whoosh…
The wind blows loudly past them,
Kakashi sits next to Shisui.
"Do you really think that's the only way?"
"I do.
But I don't, I still believe in them. I want to believe in them but I'm running out of options and time. That's why I came to you, maybe you can offer some advice, I'm desperate so anything will do."
"You're that desperate, huh?" Kakashi looks at him to read his reaction,
"I just don't want them to fight, I don't want Arashi to live in such a hateful world where his village and clan must fight.
As we speak, Arashi is being used by nearly everyone and even he doesn't know it."
Kakashi shakes his head solemnly,
"I know.
The Uchiha are using him to justify their actions, the village and the Hokage is using him to bargain for peace and as a weapon too. All behind his back too…"
Sigh…
The two of them sat in silence for a while.
After a moment of silence, Kakashi glanced at Shisui,
"Shisui, I know this is personal and I don't want to put you in a difficult situation here but you seem desperate so I'll ask anyway."
Kakashi looked at Shisui, and Shisui looked back…
"I want your honest answer on this."
Shisui nodded.
"I know this is unfair to ask and there's no way to put this into kind words but…"
Whoosh…
The wind blows past them and Shisui's eyes widened hearing the question.
'Arashi…' He looks away sadly thinking of his brother,
---------------- ( Back at the academy )
'It's finally break time.
It's so weird being an Uchiha, all the girls do is swoon whenever I do something as simple as breathing. I don't like it, I wish things went back to how they used to be when it was just us three.' Arashi remembers Naruto, Sasuke and himself hanging around,
Arashi sits next to Naruto and Sasuke as they enjoy their snacks,
Naruto was telling them about the cool ninjutsu Kakashi showed him the other day and they were both eagerly listening.
"So anyway, big brother Kakashi and I were training the other day, and he showed me this cool jutsu, he called it the…" Naruto tilted his head seeing someone who he rarely sees walking towards them.
"What's the name of the jutsu?" They both asked.
"Hold on."
Arashi looked behind Naruto and saw Ino.
"There you are, I've been looking for you."
"For me…?" A bundle of questions appear in his head,
"I didn't get the chance to talk to you earlier since you now have a new fan base now that you and Sasuke are from the same clan." Ino pushes her hair from her face nervously,
"Right… sorry for that Ino." Arashi scratches his hair nervously,
"I just wanted to give you this as a thank you."
Ino hands over some boxed lunch,
"Oh, um… thank you Ino." Ino nods and walks away smiling,
"Huh? Arashi, you talk to girls?" Naruto asked.
Arashi looks back and responds with a smile,
"Ino's my friend."
"Your… friend?"
Arashi nods.
From the corner, a girl with pink hair watched secretly as Ino came back from talking to Arashi.
"Huh? Ino pig has a boyfriend or something? And isn't that the other Uchiha from class?
Arashi…"
Ring!
The bell rang and it was time to get back.
"I'll eat this later." He packed his boxed lunch into his bag.
Arashi hopped off the bench they were sitting on.
"Come on you guys, let's go."
"Hey hold up a minute since when we're you and Ino friends?" Naruto asked. He was still stuck wondering when this happened.
"Why does that matter? Let's go."
Arashi led his friends back to class.
