Chapter 1: Chapter 1

An ancient castle stood in a distant island full of life with a lush forest and countless animals be it magical or nonmagical.

It was known to the world as the Castle of Volhikar.

In the past, the island was nothing like it was now.

It was filled with death.

The most ancient and powerful vampire clan used to occupy the island. Which made it impossible for any living being to inhabit.

Of course, this change wasn't without reason either.

Inside the castle, specifically in the main hall, where a throne stood, was a man who was sitting on it cross legged.

He had tanned skin, gray eyes and a long white hair that was tied at the tip with a simple black cloth. On his head was a red crown made of magical energy and on his body, he wore a red cloth on his upper body that covered his back and sleeves but left the front open, showing his chiseled muscles, together with a separate piece that acted as a skirt with black leather pants and boots with silver accents.

He had many names known throughout the world such as; The Arch Mage, Mage of Swords, The Sword Singer, The Calamity Swordsman, Bane of Dragons, The Maniac Archer who Shoots Swords as Arrows, The One who Shot all the Guards in the Knee with an Arrow, and Unicorn Rider were a few among the many. But the one that followed him all his life was; Evander. That's how the people close to him, knew him as.

By the side of his throne, lied a red zweihander sword.

But the sword wasn't made to be used like it properly should. Instead, its blade was dulled to better accommodate for its new purpose; a staff.

Yes, it was a staff to channel the immense amount of magical energy possesses by the man. And the name of the sword-staff was [Mithrandir].

"Ah I should get going." Evander said as he slowly got up from the throne and grabbed the sword by his side to use it as a cane.

He walked out of the castle with steady steps and stopped right after crossing the bridge.

He brought his free hand to his mouth and whistled.

He didn't need to wait for long as a creature of immense magical prowess appeared right before him.

It was a unicorn. To be specific, it was the last unicorn alive.

All the other unicorns were killed in the war that concerned the safety of the world.

It was known that the death of a unicorn strengthened the power of the dark side, meanwhile the death of a fire daedra strengthened the power of the light side.

A unicorn was impossible to be killed through normal means. They were creatures of immense power and speed that surpassed even that of the dragons. Any mortal that was stupid enough to challenge a unicorn would either end up being impaled with their horns or get stomped by their hooves.

That's why, the gods of the dark side took it upon themselves to eradicate their kind to strengthen their side for the incoming war.

"Hello [Felarof], my old friend." Evander said as he stroked the mane of the unicorn, much to its joy.

*Neigh*

Evander had met Felarof during one of his travels to The Rift.

When they first chanced upon each other, Felarof was almost about to die from its wounds. Its hunter, known as Belarog, was hot on its tail.

Even amongst the unicorns, Felarof was special. It was known as a Royal Unicorn.

The horns of the unicorns weren't just used for impaling their targets. No, they could also be used to cast a beam of magical energy, known as [Aeglos], that would destroy everything in their path.

But, once it was cast, the unicorns would lose their horns.

It wasn't the case for Felarof though. Once his horn was used, he would be able to regenerate it after a few moments.

And that was the power of the prey who was about to be killed.

And the one who could wound him to that degree was known as Alrabeg the Hunter. An aspect of Hircine, a god of the dark side.

Evander had to fight tooth and nail together with Felarof to repel Alrabeg.

And after that battle, a bond that still stood strong until now was formed. Felarof accompanied him for much of his adventures and they created many legends together.

"Now that I think of it, I was quite stupid to attempt to fight Alrabeg back then."

*Neigh!*

Felarof neighed to display his displeasure upon hearing such words.

"Haha don't be so down my friend. It's not like I said that I regret it. I'm merely drawing a comparison with my thinking of now and old. Youth indeed." Evander said as he mounted Felarof.

"Let's go Felarof. It's been a while we said hi to friends of old." He said as he made his sword-staff vanish.

Falorf rose into air and stood still as if he was waiting for a way to be pointed out.

Unicorns also could fly in the sky freely like a bird.

"Hmm, let's see the huntress first." Evander said as he pointed to a direction. "Ah, but don't run too fast eh? Let's enjoy the view for a bit." He added.

Felarof gave a grunt as if he understood the command and galloped towards the destination.

In no time, they reached Whiterun. The city of beginning.

"… I told you not to go too fast, didn't I?" Evander said after a brief moment of silence.

*Neigh!*

Felarof neighed in response.

"Yeah yeah this wasn't even your serious speed, I know all that. How long do you think I've been dealing with your crap?" Evander grumbled.

*Neigh!*

*gasp* "You kiss yo mama with that mouth?"

*Neigh!*

"…okay that's enough. Let's go down. We have attracted enough attention by just staying on air like this."

Then Felarof proceeded to descend on to the ground.

Normally, entering the city by flying was a crime. Everyone had to walk through the gate if they didn't want to be treated as criminals.

And the guards were about to arrest the criminal when the seasoned ones among them noticed who it was.

Their knees trembled in fear.

But the newer recruits had no such fear.

"Stop right there you criminal scum! You've committed crimes against Skyrim and her people! What say you in your defense?!" One of the newer guards said as he drew his sword.

"No! Jeff! Stop! Get back here!" But one of the veteran guards shouted from the back. But of course Jeff paid him no mind.

"Hmm? You don't recognize me?" Evander asked with intrigue.

Then one of the veteran guards rushed as he pulled Jeff back. "Sorry milord. Jeff is new. He had eyes but failed to see mount Tai." He said as he sweat profusely.

"Nah, it's fine. I don't mind." Evander said as if he lost interest and walked towards the hub of the Companions. Jorrvaskr.

Felarof rose back into the air and disappeared in a blink.

A soft smile appeared on Evander's face as he remembered the fierce red haired huntress of the Companions.
