Chapter 2: Chapter 2: we meet again!
After a semi-stressful day at work I went back to the inn I really should stop wasting money here and go look for a real place to stay, I rested and said I would do it tomorrow since it wasn't a working day.
The next day came by fast, I quickly woke up, took a bath, brushed my teeth and tightened my corset and wore my dress and went out, looking for an apartment with a cheap price is really hard to find and even if you did it is all covered in cobwebs and rats.
I felt so hungry and my stomach didn't fail to announce that to the world,I kept walking trying to find a place to eat, I checked my purse I still had a few thousand left and it would be enough for an apartment and food. I walked through the streets until I found a place.
I walked in and it didn't look cheap but the food was cheap that's bad business planning but not bad for now, I went in, took a sit and analyse the apartment I found and which just needed cleaning and which one was a no-go area.
"Hmm ma'am may I be of service to you?" the waiter cleared his throat.
"Sure please can I have the menu and get back to you" I told him, he handed me the menu and it was filled with interesting food and it was cheap, surprising. I called the waiter back.
"Ready to order?" He asked.
" Sure I would like a cheese cake and a hot tea" I told him and handed him the menu back. In no time he brought what I had ordered and it looked amazing, I prayed and ate atleast papa thought me that much.
"Ain't you the girl working in Agnes's diner" I raised my head up and saw it was princess Amber.
"Hello princess Amber, yes I am" I stood up and Curtsy as a sign of respect to a royal
" I see, we meet again" she smiled and sat down with me.
"Yes" I nodded.
"Am I making you uncomfortable" she asked with curiousity in her eyes.
"No, I am well comfortable my princess" she nodded and called the waiter and Order what I had ordered. Fascinating, I thought.
"I want to be friends with you... What's your name again?" She snapped her fingers trying to recover my lost name that she never knew in her memory.
"Ellester" I responded saving her the stress.
"Ellester, what does it mean?" She asked about the meaning of my name.
"Elle is my name and ester is my mother name, so my father just joined the two together, that's was what he told me" I said to her.
"Ellester an interesting choice of name, well if you don't mind being my friend ellester I would appreciate it" she smiled at me, she looked so cute that I had to smile back.
"It would be an honour princess Amber" I smiled and waited for her to start eating.
"What are you waiting for? Bon Appetit" she smiled.
After eating I insisted on paying for our food, and we took a nice stroll around the streets of Notham bridge, beautiful, after a few minutes of admiring the streets lights and houses, her words brought me back from my thoughts.
"So was there anything you were planning on doing today?" She asked.
"Well yes, I was looking for a cheap and nice apartment" I told her.
"Why don't you move into the palace" she said and I almost choked on my spit, disgusting I know. Isn't this moving all to fast.
"No don't worry, I found a place , it just need a few touch up" I told her immediately.
"It's no bother, if the place you found doesn't work out for you, you can come stay at the palace" she held my hand in both her palms.
"Thank you for the kind offer princess Amber, I assure you it will be thought about carefully" I curtsy.
"And I will take that as a maybe" we both laughed and continued the walk.
We got to where her carriage was and I just then her brother came out, looking beautiful or handsome which ever rows your boat, I couldn't take my eyes off him and immediately he turned to us and gave a slight nod in acknowledgement that he had seen us.
"I would have to take my leave now princess Amber, it was a very lovely walk" I curtsy again after saying those words.
"The pleasure is all mine ellester, don't forget you are always welcomed in the palace, anytime"she smiled again, wow the amount of times she smiles is unaccountable, let us just call it etiquette.
"Good bye" and with that I went back to the inn and called the land lady that her apartment just needed touch up before I could get in and she asked me to come tomorrow.
The next day was something I was looking forward to, I quickly did the necessary things which you know as common hygiene, I felt fresh and went to the diner I put on my waitress outfit and went to serve the customers. The diner looked full this time and we had a lot on our hand.
I think what ma'am Agnes is missing, is more workers and she needs them fast I can't blame the customers for coming, Johnson food is extraordinary.
"Order up" I quickly paste the orders where Johnson could see them and went to take another person orders.
"What may I get you this fine morning sir" i smiled widely cause that what's waitress are supposed to do.
"I would like a French toast and scrambled eggs" he smiled back, well somebody is feeling happy this morning. I quickly went to take his food off the counter when I bumped into to the wall.
"Ouch, this stupid walls, wait a minute there are no walls here, so..." I immediately looked up only to see the king angrily looking at me, oh my God save me!!!.
"What the fuck" he screamed and everybody stood up from their sits, even aunty Agnes came to see the problem, I could see the look of there is nosaving you in her eyes.
"I am so sorry , his majesty" I bowed my head afraid to see his eyes.
"What is your name careless one" I swallowed an imaginary spit.
" Sir..." I pretended not to hear.
"I said what is your name and don't make me repeat myself" he had the look of stop wasting my time.
"Ellester, sir, my name is ellester" I said almost about to cry.
"Ellester, what a stupid name I must say cause it doesn't make any sense" did he just call my name stupid and my name makes more sense than you.
"What is your name, my lord" I raised my chin and spoke courageously.
"Why must I tell you my name, are you new here?" He looked at me with suspicion.
"No need to tell me I already know, king Arthur is your name, well Arthur what a brave name but I am afraid it doesn't suit you well" I said with loud gasps coming out of everyone's mouths, like a ghost had walked by.
"Why do you say so careless one" you can practically see the smoke fuming.
"Because Arthurs are for brave men , not does who belittle people with just the mere mention of their names, shameful I must say" I said knowing that today is the last day I breathe air.
"Don't you think you tongue is a little sharp, I don't mind mind cutting it out"he threatened and that wasn't to frighten me threat it was I am really going to threat.
"God forbid such, that if my tongue sin's then it must be cut off and casted into a flaming fire, but my tongue is quite the opposite you see, so I must have to reject your offer forever" I bowed my head and when I raised it up I could see how angry he had become.
"Agnes can I speak to you alone" he completely ignored me and went away with Agnes, who does he think he is. Duh the king my subconsciousness spoke, I just rolled my eyes.
The king and Agnes has been talking for long and I think I may be involved, why didn't I just shut my mouth, stupid girl well there is no going back now, is there?.
Johnson and I talked for a few minutes, he talked about how I looked cool committing my own suicide and suicide is no joke except if you were me and you talked to the king with no form of respect then that can be defined as suicide.
While Annabelle just looked at me with "good for you" vibes, I am guessing she liked the show since she doesn't like me that much, I mean what can even happen to me, nothing much right. My life is about to be turned upside if Agnes comes out of that room, how am I Even sure I was included in that conversation, I guess fear makes you think stupid things.
The king and Agnes have been talking for over 8 hours and I have been pacing back and fourth, my life is really done for, I really hope not. After a while Agnes came out with the king crossing his arms.
"Hmmm.. Ellester you are fired" my world broke.
"What, but I just got the job, I am sorry I really am I swear I will never speak out of turn in my life" I cried, why did I speak like I had the world as my empire.
"But immediately after the party, you can then part ways with us" she said.
"After those three days you are not only unemployed but also arrested" he spoke, that devil spoke.
"For what?" I looked up at his smirking face.
"For speaking out if turn, bumping into the king and other useless reason" he had a dangerous look on his face,I guess those are the perks of being a king. I hate my life.
