Chapter 20: Chapter 20: You Unfilial Child!

Li Xia entered the waiting room with her assistant following her along with her things. She sat down on the comfy couch and her assistant began to search for something in her bag. After a few minutes of searching, she took the water bottle inside the bag and moved it towards Li Xia who was pressing her fingers to her temples.

"Here drink some water," her assistant offered her a water bottle.

"Thanks," Li Xia accepted the bottle and drank from the bottle slowly. After boozing half of the bottle she felt her energy returning to her. Her assistant then handed over the phone to her.

"Thanks, you pack things we will leave in a few minutes," Li Xia said as she scrolled through her notifications while drinking water from the bottle. As soon as her assistant left the room she was welcomed by a knock on the door.

"Come in," she called out while still checking her messages. Her gaze didn't lift away from her phone screen till she saw who it was who was standing outside.

"Senior Zai! What brings you here? I didn't know that you'll come today," Li Xia exclaimed as she stood up and welcomed her senior.

Zai Hai entered the room, closing the door behind her.

"Why can't I visit my set?" Zai Hai asked rhetorically as he made his way to the couch. His gaze fell on the white envelope with a red ribbon tied around it on the table.

"Of course, you can, after all, we are working under your command," Li Xia said nonchalantly as they both sat on the couch. Zai Hai let out a chuckle upon hearing her statement and shook his head lightly.

"Did you sleep well yesterday?" Zai Hai inquired as he leaned back on the couch and crossed his arms.

"Yeah, I slept soundly after consuming excessive alcohol yesterday," Li Xia shrugged as she put the bottle of water aside. She then confronted her senior, "And also thank you for taking care of me yesterday."

"No problem, it's my pleasure," Zai Hai smiled as he was about to continue when her phone started to ring indicating the caller ID; Mrs. Li

Li Xia excused herself and answered the call without any delay as it was none other than her mom.

"Hello Mrs. Li, did you mistakenly dial my number," Li Xia said with a snarky tone. She was not happy with her mother's calls today.

"Is this the way to call your mother? Is this what I have raised you to do? You are an unfilial child!! her mother roared in anger.

"Did you call me for this?" Li Xia inquired, trying not to sound annoyed.

"I called you to ask when are you coming home?" her mom asked.

Home? Did her mom mean the house that she left because of her? The place which her mother told her never to come back to?

"Hahaha," Li Xia let out a chuckle, shaking her head as she continued, " You're calling me home? To the place where you told me never to come back to?"

"I have something to talk about so come back quickly," her mother snarled.

"I am busy with my work so don't bother me, mom," Li Xia replied, trying her best in calming herself.

"Don't make me repeat myself! Get back here right now!" her mom yelled.

Li Xia's expression darkened as her grip tightened around her phone. There was no way she would go to that place again. That place where everything went wrong between her and her mother. She was about to continue to reject the offer of coming back home when she heard her father's voice calling her name.

"Li Xia, my daughter, don't make your mother's Bp rise. Listen to her and come back soon okay? We miss you," her dad pleaded with his usual gentle voice.

Hearing her father's soft voice her nerves calmed a bit. No matter what happened she just couldn't reject her father's request. So she gave in.

"Dad, I will try to come back soon, but there are several important shoots that I need to get done first," Li Xia said as she tried her best to calm herself down.

"Okay sweetheart, as you know your mother is getting older. She is just worried about you. Your mother loves you very much. So please do return soon," her dad requested with concern laced in his voice.

Her heart melted seeing the concern in his voice. In her bad times, her father always supported her. He even supported her dream when her mother was against it.

"Dad, I will see you soon okay?" she reassured him. "And I love you too."

"Good, see you soon my little princess," her father replied before the call ended. Li Xia moved towards the couch where Zai Hai was waiting for her.

"Were you saying something?" she asked, placing her phone beside a water bottle on the table.

"I was asking about the envelope. Are you also invited to the C.L Group Anniversary event?" he asked curiously while raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah it's on weekends," Li Xia responded, looking at the envelope on the table. And then she shifted her gaze away from it and settled her attention on her senior.

"Are you invited too?" she asked as she placed both of her hands on her lap, waiting to hear his reply.

"Yeah," Zai Hai replied with a smile, "Do you want to go with me?

"I would love to," she asserted with a soft smile on her lips.

"Then it's decided," he stated and stretched his arm towards her. She moved her hand closer to his and shook his hand with a small smile on her face.

"Well, are you free tonight? I could treat you to dinner if you'd like," Zai Hai proposed as he leaned forward slightly toward her.

"Not today, I have a girl night with Jing Xing," Li Xia rejected politely. A tide of disappointment swept through him as he heard her response. But he didn't show it and instead pulled back his hand and nodded in acknowledgment.

"What about tomorrow? I am free tomorrow afternoon," she suggested as she turned and faced him fully.

"Sure," Zai Hai agreed with an enthusiastic grin plastered on his face.

"Okay, then see you tomorrow," she said and stood up to pick up her belongings and exited the waiting room.

Hello Lovelies!!

Here I am back with a new chapter. Read and support my work. Please I will be very grateful to you all.
