Naruto started down the pitch dark stairwell and as he did the torches adorning the walls slowly started to light up.
After five minutes of continuous walking he finally arrived at his destination.
Naruto had arrived in a room with light gray colored walls. In front of him were two large concrete doors with a barrier protecting them from outside entry and a large seal array on the left side of the room.
He remembered exactly how Ace had set up this room and what to do.
The ravenette moved in front of the sealing array and bit his thumb to draw blood. In blood he drew a pattern of nine magatama in the center of the sealing array and then drew a line from each of them into a single point at the center. He placed his hand on the center and concentrated his chakra into the seal.
The barrier dropped and the doors slowly started to open.
The doors revealed a large cave like room, easily the size of the Konoha Coloseum where the Chunin Exams were held.
Naruto marveled at all of the seals covering the walls that were used to prevent people from entering without doing what Naruto did, and that would prevent any damage to the cave walls from either the inside or the outside.
He silently noted that this place would be perfect for training in secret, but then he saw it. He finally found what he had come here for. At the other side of the cave was a large black and gold chest.
Naruto slowly walked across the room until he was standing in front of the chest. He noticed the seals on it and drew the same pattern that he did to get into the room. After completing the pattern in blood, the seals on the chest started to glow bight blue until they broke and revealed what was inside. Inside of the chest was a leather bound journal, an orange cowboy hat, and what he had hoped would still be there. The final item was a bight orange fruit that had an odd shaped stem with flame-like patterns completely covering the fruit. This was Ace's chakra fruit, the Mera Mera no Mi.
Naruto wanted to eat the fruit first and opted to read the journal. He opened the leather notebook and read the first passage:
To whomever is reading this,
My name is Portgas D Ace. The fact that you heve been able to get into this cave and are reading this means that you have been chosen to be my reincarnation. As for the reasons of why you were chosen, I'd say that it is your conviction or ideals. Or at least that is probably why, I never really understood the whole reincarnation deal but my brother Hagoromo did and that is the reason I have chosen to leave behind what may help you with your journey. If Hagoromo was right than you've probably seen my memories to a certain degree, but I've left some notes in this journal just so you don't strain your memory too you've really seen my memories than there are probably a disturbingly large amount of parallels between us. For the sake of both of us I will give you one pice of advice: Live life the way you want to and enjoy the journey, I've already lived mine and I eventually found the answers I was looking for. You will too...eventually.

Naruto smiled a little and turned the page. It was a passage about the fruit he had found.
If you're reading this than you must be curious about the mera mera no mi. I suppose I could give you a little background on it. The mera mera no mi is a logia chakra fruit. This means that your body can actually turn into the element and make you intangible. It will also give you unparalleled control over fire and heat.
The fruits from the Shijuu are made from natural energy itself and fire is one of the most powerful forces of nature This was the fruit that I ate and enabled me to defeat Otsutsuki Kaguya alongside my brothers and the eaters of the four other fruits. These five fruits were comprised of the five natural elements: fire, water, earth, lightning, and wind. It was these three fruits that eventually lead to what are now known as elemental affinities. There are only a few weaknesses of each fruit. Each of their intangibilities can be negated through the use of haki or what you may know as a special use of yin release. You'll read more about it in the later passages. The other weakness is fire's elemental weakness, water. Water can douse the flames of the fruit but it can be overcome by producing more heat and turning it to steam. One last thing, if you do eat this fruit then you will never be able to use another element for as long as you live. That is why it is called the mera mera no mi, you become fire itself. Besides all of this I'll leave the rest to you.

Naruto flipped the page and it was a list of techniques that he could use after eating the fruit. He decided to save the rest of a journal for a later time and sealed it into a empty scroll he had in his pouch, he did the same with the hat noting that he should get replicas made as this one was quite old, though he did like Ace's style.
Next he picked up the fruit. Naruto stared at it intently before slowly opening his mouth to take a bite. He noted that it was quite juicy, but nearly spit it out after the taste reached him. The fruit tasted like hot ash, but he steeled himself and decided to eat the entire fruit. He may have let out a few tears after, but that was a story for another time.
Naruto closed the chest and looked around the cave. 'This place would make the perfect training ground to test out my new abilities.'
With those thoughts he spent the rest of the day working on gaining control of the mera mera no mi.
