Chapter 21: The third task
[Mission: Third task]
[Kill the monsters gathering against the village and destroy the obelisk of evil]
[Reward: The village might survive]
"What?" Roan muttered. He was shocked at the word "might survive". But still, all was at stake. He needed to finish the task.
Roan then went onwards and followed the path toward the obelisk of evil. It would be an arduous task as hobgoblins were present.
It was then, the rain poured heavily and it started to get cold. Luckily he has a cloak that was protecting him from the cold.
He saw that Hobgoblin patrols were blocking his path. Making him smirk at them. Roan was excited to unleash his prowess and make the enemies suffer.
Looking from afar, the obelisk of evil was seen. Making Roan grit his teeth as he was very excited to battle.
The Hobgoblin patrol then saw him as they were camping outside their tents. Making them go wild after they saw a solitary human walking toward them.
[Enemies detected]

"Wow,"
He then selected the Paladin job class by clicking the prompt.

Roan then was happy to have received another job class. Making him draw his weapon and attack the enemies. Hobgoblins dashed towards them and they were seven in number.
Roan then used his skill [Durable weapon and armor] and then his weapons and armor were indestructible for a moment. Making him have confidence while he attacked. Not making damage to his armor or weapon was a very good skill for him.
Roan then used [Slash] and the enemy hobgoblin was cleaved apart. Not even able to block his attack as it was faster than their eyes can see.
Roan then was attacked on all sides. As the comrades of the hobgoblin were enraged by the death of their company. Roan then blocked their attacks one by one. He immediately stepped to the side while evading and blocking their strikes.
Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!
His weapon was sounding with every hit. The enemies roared as they approached him and the hairs on his skin went up. Only to make him get more excited about his skill. A very arousing factor as he slashed them apart.
One slashed with its mace and Roan ducked and then stabbed its abdomen. Slicing to the side as he reaped open its gut.
Roan then kicked it on the chest and it stumbled as its guts were pouring out from its abdomen.
Roan then attacked the others and they were terrified by such actions. They all attacked once again and he used the skill [Pacify]. Making them stop at the moment for a second then Roan went on a flurry. Slashing while dashing in a zigzag like a ninja.
The enemies did not even have the will to fight for a moment and he took the opportunity to slash them. Roan rotated as he decapitated several of them. While also cleaving the others apart.
Ending the hobgoblin patrol in just a few sweats that dropped from his nose. Slightly panting in the process. He sheathed the sword after draining the blood and then looted their weapons. There were 7 rusty weapons in total that he could smelt into new weapons.
Roan then went on towards the obelisk of evil and he saw the Hobgoblins present and guarding the obelisk. In his fright, Roan saw a Hobgoblin Lord. It was their leader and he was giving instructions to his Hobgoblin underlings.
They were fifty in his estimation and all were armed. Roan approached them slowly as he drew his dual swords and he attacked as he dashed faster and faster.
He slashed one and it was decapitated. Rolling its head on the ground and the others were shocked. The Goblin Lord then roared as he pointed in Roan's direction.
They attacked in a wave and Roan was in a flurry. He dashed and leaped while rotating in mid-air. Landing on two with a stab on two Hobgoblins. Roan then pulled the short swords and reverse-gripped them.
He immediately dashed towards the fray and one attacked in a vertical smash. Roan sidestepped and slashed the enemy on the shoulders. Making its shoulders cut off.
Roan then threw his other sword then it landed on one of the goblin's foreheads. Pulling it out then backflipping on the back. Throwing three throwing daggers at three enemies.
He immediately landed on the ground and then dashed toward the others. Slashing triple times and they were struck down immediately.
Others attacked and ended their lives soon after. Roan then saw that the Goblin Lord was ready to attack him as its underlings were all dead. Roan was smiling while blood was all over his face. Making the Hobgoblin Lord intimidated. With a shout, he pacified his fear and then attacked with his wooden club.
Roar!
Roan then used his skill [Pacify] and the enemy stopped its attack, he then used his skill [Slash]. Aiming for its head and decapitating it in the process.
Swoosh!
The head flung and the Hobgoblin Lord dropped its knees and smashed the ground chest first. Roan then clicked his tongue as he was disappointed. Maybe he was just too strong at the moment.
Roan then inspected the body and saw that the Hobgoblin Lord has a necklace. It was what was the only loot he got from the poor soul.

"Hmmm not bad," Roan muttered, "Now the obelisk of evil is the only thing to be dealt with,"
"Equip Necromancer job class!"

He immediately summoned his skeletons and then they started demolishing the structure. They hacked the obelisk with their weapons and then the structure was obliterated. The glow from the obelisk has dissipated and it crumbled to the ground. The obelisk then was destroyed by his minions.
After his mission, he went back to the village. But the smoke was rising from a distance.
"No! it can't be!" Roan was troubled. His heart started to race and then he hurried his pace toward the village.
