Chapter 91: Tell Me This Is Just A Nightmare

I stood beside Joanna, rubbing my forehead. She was silent for a minute before she called my name.

"Elena?"

"Please say this is a nightmare, Joanna! Please tell me that this past hour didn't happen at all. Say I am cursed by one of my rivals and thus getting these horrifying dreams!" I pleaded to look up at her with desperation.

But the helplessness on her face said otherwise.

I released a shuddering breath, and she pulled me in for a hug. She rubbed her hand on my back as I hugged her tightly.

The onlookers must be thinking that I was overwhelmed with joy, and now my best friend was trying to calm me. But the reality was not as it looked.

"My life is fucked up, Joanna! How am I going to face dad? What have I done?!" I cursed myself to the moon and back for trusting Devon.

I shouldn't have listened to Sheriff Bolt and accepted Devon's help.
