Chapter 55: Tears!
The next moment, Aakesh opened his eyes and left the liquid pool.
He exited the device, wore his clothes in a hurry, and left the room. It was daytime, so his father was at work.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Aakesh knocked on the door of his parent's room.
"Who?" A lazy voice came out of the room, and soon after, the door opened. The mother rubbed her eyes as she was taking her daytime nap.
Aakesh suddenly rushed forward and hugged his mother.
The mother was taken aback by the sudden reaction of her son, but soon she became tense as she heard crying.
Her heart turned cold as she saw Aakesh crying like a child. Her shoulder had become wet from his tears.
"What happened to you?" She inquired, her voice trembling. It was the first time Aakesh had reacted like this, so she didn't know what to do.
Aakesh didn't say anything but continued to cry while hugging his mother.
The mother stopped asking questions and began rubbing Aakesh's shoulder to calm him down. Time flew by, and after what felt like an eternity of torture to the mother, Aakesh finally stopped crying.
He wiped away his tears and stood straight. There was no embarrassment in his eyes for acting like a child despite being an adult, but there was a sense of relief in them to see his mother alive and well.
"What happened?" The mother asked again.
"Nothing, I was just missing you." A smile spread across Aakesh's face, and he responded.
A gentle smile also appeared on the mother's face, as she could feel that the smile on her son's face was sincere. She then tapped on his shoulders and reprimanded him for doing something like this out of the blue.
"Don't you know how weak heart I am?"
"Sorry," Aakesh apologized with the same smile spreading across his face.
The mother could only sigh helplessly, but there was also a hint of gentleness in her eyes since after Manish left, Aakesh had also become slightly distant toward her. But today, she became aware of how much her son loves her.
"If you don't want to meet Shachi, we can postpone the meeting," The mother suddenly said, surprising Aakesh.
"It's fine," Aakesh replied after a pause.

Aakesh left his house and began to randomly roam around the city. He was in no mood to enter Panagea.
Aakesh was only a human. Today, he only wanted to run from whatever terrible future awaited him. He only wanted to live the carefree life of someone who didn't know what the future entailed for today.
"What's going on with the government?"
Aakesh's steps suddenly paused as he heard the question from another group of friends walking beside him.
"What are you talking about?" Aakesh suddenly interrupted and asked.
The original Aakesh would have ignored the conversation and would have increased his speed to leave the group behind. But when Aakesh heard the question, the content of the diary flashed in his head.
Just a moment ago, Aakesh had decided to only focus on today, but the sudden question turned all his plans awry.
The group of friends was preparing for the civil service exam, so they were discussing the country's politics. When they suddenly heard the third person interrupting, they looked at him weirdly.
"You don't watch the news."
One in the group asked in surprise since people of Aakesh's age usually kept up with the country's politics since at this age, people wanted to change the system.
"I don't get enough time," Aakesh replied, and then he invited the group to the restaurant not far from there.
The group of friends didn't refuse the invitation, as discussing the political scene was like revising their study material for them.

"Stopped the elections?" Aakesh asked in surprise.
"Yes, there were going to be three state elections the next month, but yesterday, the government made the announcement that all the due state elections are canceled, and there will be president rule in those states, starting today," Abhijit said while taking a sip of tea.
"The state governments accepted?" Aakesh asked, and then he took out his phone to check the news.
"No, they are protesting, but the government is adamant about its decision. They even stopped the functioning of the Supreme Court and they had also warned the government not to turn the situation violent," Chawda responded.
Aakesh then subscribed to an Indian newspaper publication and found the entire page filled with articles from various journalists condemning the actions of the government.
While scrolling, Aakesh found an interesting piece of news that the Indian government wasn't the only one in the world to do that. The USA also canceled the half-term elections. Israel did the same. China had a single-party system, and even then it canceled the elections.
It didn't take long for Aakesh to find the things common among all these states. They were all either confirmed nuclear states or they were like Iran, where things weren't certain.
Aakesh remembered the diary telling him that governments all around the world would form a unified federation, turning the world into a surveillance government.
"Wasn't it today!" Aakesh suddenly exclaimed in shock as he remembered the timeline detailed in the diary.
"What's today?" Abhijit asked, putting down the sandwich.
Aakesh was going to respond when suddenly, a notification rang in his phone. Aakesh wasn't the only one, but Abhijit and other two also got the same notification.
[A message from the Indian Government!]
The content of the notification glowed with big words. Aakesh and the others immediately tapped on their phones, respectively.
The next moment, the image of the Indian prime minister appeared on the screen.
"Friends, today will be recorded in the history of planet Earth."
"From this moment on, the union government dissolves, and we request the UN form a united Federation and include us in it!"
At that moment, everyone in the world who could afford a phone or was in front of a TV heard the same message, coming from the head of their state.
Time flew by, and five minutes later, a shocking piece of news was conveyed across the world.
"The United Federation has been formed with seventeen states in the leading council. The concept of nationhood doesn't exist anymore."
