Chapter 9: The Chrome Valley
Deep in the mountain there's someone hiding his presence as if he is part of the mountain. Every breath he takes is also calculated as if not to disturb the surroundings.
He is crouching in the mountain slope hiding his presence behind a large rock. Below the slop there's a ferocious beast whose head is pierced by an arrow. The beast has the body structure of a lion but his entire body is dark purple. A very powerful electrical recharge is gushing out of its skin as if it's an armour. The Lion is searching for its enemy who just now wounded him. In his eyes only one thing is emotion and that is killing its enemy and eating his meat. The lion waited for a long time but he couldn't find anyone.
Just as the lion is about to give up his search and decides to head to a different location. Another arrow hits the lion jaw piercing the jaw from left to right.
The lion screamed in pain as its blood started coming out of its mouth. In its eyes the only thing it wants is revenge but the pain in his jaw is so much that it couldn't handle it anymore. But before the lion could stabilize the situation it decided that staying here only means death so it started running away. But before it could go any further another arrow pierced its leg. The lion promptly fell to the ground.
The lion has given up. It's not even moving or trying to run away. Lots of time animals run away even if they lost two legs. But the lion right now gave up on that. He now knows very well that the enemy he's facing is not your regular everyday bandits. This time the lion faced a true hunter who is feared by every prey. Finally another shot hit its head and the lion breathed it's last breath.
After confirming that the lion is dead the man hiding behind the rock in the slope of the mountain reveal himself. He is wearing a hoodie. His clothes are torn off in many different places. In his back there's a medium size cloth beg. In his hand there's a delicate looking bow. He has three rings on his fingers. The man removed his hoodie and revealing a nice handsome face. From the looks of it people will never understood why such a young looking man is this much tall.
The boys face is clear not even a single hair is growing in his face. His long black hair is floating in air after he removed his hoodie. This big tall boy is none other than Magnus.
Right now he's outside the simulation. Simulation is good for training. But there's a little limitations with it. If you use it too much your sense of reality might alter. Although Magnus has a very strong and powerful mind so this kind of threat doesn't pose any danger to him but knew one thing very clear he still need a real world experience. What's the point of all the experience he gained in simulation but never uses them in real life. So right now Magnus is hunting through the Alps mountain range as he is crossing it.
It's been three day after he leave the mountain cave. For all this day he is hunting everything in his path. Be it an beast that he can it or not everyone is getting the same threatment.
He also last dived in to the simulation yesterday. The day before he sleeped all night while his persona cultivated.
Speaking about cultivation, at this point Magnus's cultivation is progressing slowly. There's a reason why the universal Qi is important. Even though Magnus can break through level much faster than everyone but that is only possible while the surrounding world Qi is greater and richer.
This world Qi is limited. The Qi quilty is also low grade. The most strongest Man in this world was Roger Red Dragon. Who reached level 70.
But after him the people who reached level 60 would already be known as the strongest. That's why leaving this planet is very important to everyone. This planet is a cage. Only after reaching level 65 a cultivator goes through a spacial awakening which allows them to break free from the shakels and they can leap in the sky.
But learning to fly doesn't mean you can leave the planet just by flying. In order to fly through the space a cultivator needs a spaceship or he or she must reach level 70. After reaching level 70 a cultivator achieve a realm where he can freely travele in space. That's why reaching level 70 is important to everyone.
Right now the sun Patriarch and 5 other people reached the strongest level 69. The man in white is probably once in level 70 but his cultivation degraded to level 65. That's why even though the other elders all are at level 59 they all easily got killed.
The moment one of those 6 people break through level 70 he will be the strongest. The power gap between 69 and 70 is that far apart. Roger reached level 70 and he single handedly created an empire. Killing two level 69 cultivator with a single move. That's the legacy of Roger.
Anyway for Magnus it's completely different. Right now he can't effort to go to the cultivation paradise and start cultivating. The only thing he can do is hunt and cultivate with this small bit of world Qi.
Right now Magnus's goal is to cross the crome valley and reach the other side. There's a mountain city called Terra is located inside the Alps mountain range. But to reach there you need to cross the valley.
Many years ago Terra was connected with the Kazam through the valley. But the valley was taken home by a dangerous bandit group. From then on it's impossible for people to cross this place without getting killed or getting looted. These mountain bandits are strong. And if the intell is right the strongest of them is at level 20. Right now Magnus is at level 9. So killing a level 20 worrior will be no easy task.
Magnus started climbing the mountain. This mountain is connected with the valley and at the end of the valley the bandit camp should be located. Magnus wanted a high vantage point if he wants to win this fight. Humans are different than the beast. Beast sometime follow a certain pattern which can easily be cracked. But humans thinking is sharp. If Magnus foolishly shit an arrow the entire camp will be alerted. And more importantly all this time Magnus is fighting with beasts of low rank. This guy's doesn't developed a very good sense so they can't detect his killing intent. But the cultivators are different. They're very greate at detecting killing intent or if someone probing them. Magnus can't carelessly even probe them else everyone will be alerted. But luckily for him the Assassins of the Dark had a training method that can help him control his killing intent so precisely that nobody can detect it.
But for this Magnus first needs to break free from level 10. After breaking through level 10 a cultivator can start to control some of those Qi. The control is very slim but they still do basic stuff like imbuing their weapons with Qi.
The more you imbued your weapon the more you master the art of weapons. The Qi imbued arrow has more high armour piercing rate then the regular arrows. The Qi imbued bow has more curving power than the regular as a result the range of each shot increases to at least 60% of the original.
Magnus climbed the mountain and reached the peak. The peak has a small tree at the side if the mountain as if the it will fall at any moment. Magnus hid behind the tree and started to monitoring the camp. From the peak the camp is like a dot. But since Magnus is a cultivator he can zoom in with his eyes.
The camps lay out is as if it's a fortified fortress. They build a tall wall with trees. There are bandits who are guarding the wall. Inside the fortress there are 6 houses. Magnus monitored them for a day without any killing thought in his mind or without probing any bandits cultivation anywhere he placed his eyes he quickly shit them after a few seconds. He just surveyed the entire camp from the birds eye point of view.
Inside the camp bandits live in 3 of the houses. The remaining two are used as logistics house and Armoury. The last is for bandit chef and this one probably has a prison inside of it as Magnus saw that all the prisoners were taken there. The bandit shift in wall duty changes every 2 hour. There are lunch break and dinner break and other breaks as well. In fact these bandits have too many breaks that even Magnus started to think about a jolly way of living life.
"Sons of bitches, have way to many breaks. They even has cumulative shit break."
