Chapter 3: 3. Adelia's Promises
Adelia knitted her eyebrows while looking at her father, who nodded. She objected because she had no intention of participating in the ritual. But his father again gave the code with a little force. She also dared to lift and put her hands near her chest like the other girls did.
When all the girls have got a red fireball in their hands, the witches again recite spells in a loud voice. The hustle and bustle slowly changed, accompanying the changing strains of nature which seemed to record the incident.
A few moments later, the fire that had felt cold slowly became hotter like the temperature of fire in general. The girls gave up one by one when they couldn't stand the fire that seemed to burn their hands. It continued and almost made all the girls give up. Until a few minutes later, not a single girl could stand the heat of the fire, except for Adelia.
Now, only Adelia is the only girl who still holds a red fireball in her hand. Suddenly, it became the center of attention of everyone, including the prince. And now they've got the result of the ritual they did.
She wanted to protest at her father. Because she came there only to attend the welcoming ceremony as a form of respect, not to follow the ritual.
Then her father whispered something. Suddenly Adelia realized. If he refused, then the punishment they would receive from the king must be very severe. It was possible that the viscuont would disappear from the Northrop country if he went against the king. Adelia looked confused and didn't know what to do.
An adviser called Adelia to go on stage. The girl had no other choice but to obey the advice. Her love for her family forced her to take part in a cold fire ritual, which in fact chose him to be Prince Kairav's companion. Adelia finally climbed the steps one by one to get to the top of the stage.
Prince Kairav also did the same thing. He walked up to the stage with his eyes only on Adelia. Even though they didn't know each other before, with the ritual, Prince Kairav already considered Adelia as his property, and it must be his.
At the direction of the witches, the prince stood beside Adelia. Then they touched the girl's hand, and together they put the fireball in Adelia's hand back into the small fire that was in the middle of the stage, to penetrate the sky. The drummers immediately revived the atmosphere as if there was love between prince Kairav and Adelia. Their hearts were as frozen as ice cubes.
Little by little, the fire disappeared in the air. Then the burning remains in the center of the stage turned into flowers of various kinds and colors that flew all over Northrop. As if they were supporting the results of the ritual they carried out that night.
Of course, this is good news for Northrop. They got a daughter from the viscount noble. Everyone is happy except for the girls who feel rejected outright. They are so crazy about Prince Kairav, who is cold and heartless. So they didn't accept Adelia, who even that night looked normal. Unlike those who appear perfect and total.
However, nothing can change the decision of the ritual. That's the same as against the king and the palace. This is good news. This is true happiness.

Stefan felt his breath caught suddenly. He did not know about the news at all because he was not present at the reception of Prince Kairav last night.
Stefan and Adelia have been in a relationship for a long time. Love each other and maintain that love until now. So this news not only hurt Adelia's heart, but also Stefan's.
The handsome young man was unable to comment on anything. Disobeying the king's orders is tantamount to being a rebel or a traitor. The punishment that will be received is no joke. Of course, it was a very difficult thing for both of them.
"What should I do, Stefan? You know that in my heart there is only your name. How can I marry him? You know yourself, right, that the prince's temperament is very bad? I suffer." Adelia again weeps over the destiny of life that she must live.
Stevan clenched his fists until greenish smoke appeared from between his fingers.
Adelia didn't know that Stevan was a descendant of the previous palace wizard. All he knew was that his lover was from the lowest of the nobility. Even so, it didn't affect her feelings at all.
"When will your wedding take place?" asked Stefan in a hoarse voice. He tried with all his heart not to show emotion in front of Adelia.
"During a blue moon night," Adelia replied, looking up at the sky that looked overcast.
Spontaneously, Stevan's eyes widened again. "Blue moon night? That means about one more week?"
Adelia nodded resignedly. She also did not know how to avoid marriage. But she doesn't seem to have any power whatsoever. No one has ever dared to go against the king. Likewise with the Viscount Family.
Now the lovers are silent to each other. Know that their love story must end there. Next, Adelia will become the wife of prince Kairav. While Stefan couldn't do anything.
Moreover, the blue moon night will arrive in a week. The night where the entire magician's power will increase tens of times. That night only happens once every five years.
As a descendant of wizards, Stefan should be able to increase the ability of magic in his body like other wizards. But somehow it was inversely proportional to what he experienced every five years. He felt that every time the blue moon night came, his body felt weak. Let alone walking as usual, it hurts just to move a limb. Of course, that made his grief even worse. Having to let go of Adelia side by side with Prince Kairav, right when him body is at its weakest.
"I'm going to make that wedding the worst wedding in Northrop," Adelia muttered, still heard by Stefan.
Suddenly the young man turned his head. "Adelia, what do you mean?"
Adelia's gaze was so blank. Then she continued "I will destroy Prince Kairav's arrogance. And he will regret this marriage," she said vengefully.
