Chapter 07- Way Too Easy
Reo ignored the message that appeared in front of him and focused on the other three Uruvs. He had gotten rid of one and three were left to kill.
So, he picked up another rock and threw it at the next Uruvs. However, this time the others noticed the attack and screeched at Reo. Then, the three ignored their dinner and rushed toward him.
His plan was ruined but he didn't really care that much about it. It would be harder to deal with them all at the same time but that was it… just slightly harder.
The first one reached him and jumped in the air. Its claws moved along with it and tried to slit open his throat. Those sharp knife-like claws were more than enough to cut Reo into pieces easily.
So, he bent down to dodge it. The second one was already close to him and tried to exploit that moment of weakness to its advantage.
But, it underestimated Reo way too much. He saw the upcoming attack and held out his hand and grabbed the claws directly.
The claws dug into his palm and spilled out blood. Reo felt slight pain from the hit. In Paradise Online, there were pain sensors but it was reduced to only 30% of the real pain a human could feel from a particular injury so that it could be as realistic as possible.
"Raaa!" The Uruvs felt the grave mistake that it did.
Then, he twisted the Uruvs arm, breaking it easily. The monster screamed in pain. However, its suffering was far from over.
He lifted up the monster and swung it to the left, hitting another monster.
*Bang*
The two creatures flew away like broken Ragdolls and fell down on the ground motionless. One of them was still alive but it was barely moving so Reo left it for later.
Then, Reo focused on the last monster that was now retreating slowly with a scared look. It saw how its companions were brutally killed and didn't want to be another victim for this human.
"Where do you think you are going?" He asked.
The monster took that as a sign of threat and immediately started running away. Reo didn't even bother to try and chase it and merely picked up a slightly bigger rock and aimed it at the monster. Then, with a full-swing motion, he threw the rock with all his strength.
The rock flew like a bullet and hit the monster. A loud breaking sound followed by a shriek filled the area.
The Uruv fell down to the ground and died on the spot. The rock had shattered its spiral cord into pieces.
'So there are indeed lethal spots that could empty out the HP of creatures in one single moment if they were damaged. Good to know.' He thought.

Many notifications appeared all at the same time and made Reo frown slightly.
"I already leveled up? Well, that was very easy. Was it supposed to be this easy, hmm?" He scratched his head as he wondered.
Then, he checked his stats to see what kind of changes he experienced.

Then, Reo looked at the time and found that 2 hours had already passed since he entered the game. It was already dark outside and he also needed to cook dinner and prepare his uniform for tomorrow when school will start. He can't just play this game for the whole day.
Reo never intended to play this game full-time or dedicate his whole day to grinding and trying to become the strongest. He had no such grandiose ambitions.
He had some fun and that was it, he was not going to turn into a hardcore player. It was in the end a game that people should just enjoy from time to time and not make it their most important aspect in life.
So, he walked back to the safe zone and then logged out of the game. The world turned black and then Reo woke up in the real world. His eyes took a few seconds to focus and regain their normal ability.
Then, he turned around and looked at the girl laying by his side. Rena was still playing so she couldn't feel nor hear him. Reo didn't move and merely watched his childhood friend. Then, he extended his finger and tapped on her nose gently.
Rena didn't show any reaction but it still made Reo chuckle slightly and tap on her noise again. He always liked to tease her like that when she was asleep or when she was just idling around. Her reactions were just priceless.
Then, he stood up and walked to the kitchen, and started cooking dinner for both of them. One hour later, he walked back to the room to wake up Rena.
"Oi, sleepyhead, wake up." He said as he shook her shoulders slightly.
This was the only way to wake up someone who was using an Ogma device. Just shaking them slightly and calling their name will make the device notify the player that someone from the outside world is calling for them.
A few moments later, Rena's eyes started opening up and she looked around dazedly before focusing on Reo. A smile immediately bloomed on her face the moment she saw him then she said mischievously.
"Aren't you going to give me a morning kiss?"
Reo smiled and flicked her head with his index finger.
"It's not even morning, stupid. Now go wash your hands, it's time for dinner." He replied.
After that, the two sat down to eat dinner and chat idly.
"What did you do? I already killed a monster, heheheh." Rena said proudly.
Reo smiled and didn't answer as he knew if he said that he killed 5 with one of them being a level 2 monster would make her pout and get angry. So, he changed the topic.
"Did you join a group or something?"
Rena shook her head.
"Many people asked me to join them but I refused. Most of them are weird men who kept eyeing me with their disgusting gazes.
"Be careful, Rena. Even if it was a game, scumbags are everywhere and they could be targeting you." He said with a serious tone.
Rena smiled warmly at his words and she remarked.
"Don't worry, I am always careful. Did you get invited to a group too?"
"Not really. A girl asked me to create a small team but I refused. She didn't persist."
Rena's face turned slightly grim as her spoon froze in the air. But, she returned to normal the next second as if nothing happened.
'Sly bitches are everywhere. I have to get out of the tutorial and meet Reo as soon as possible.' She thought to herself.
"Anyway, tomorrow is going to be a lot of fun. Schools back in the village were stupidly boring."
"Hehehe, you never liked studying, even though you always score a high mark on every test. Talk about a natural genius." Rena said.
However, Reo sighed under his breath as he recalled a particularly bad memory that was engraved in his mind for a long time now.
'Gramps made me study at least 11 hours every day when everyone was having fun during the summer vacation. Those years were pure hell.'
He felt a chill run down his spine just recalling that time before he shook his head to try and forget that memory.
'The past is the past.'
