Chapter 5: An Abnormal Event

Visiting the less wealthy side of London was always an event. After Harry had made it other people's jobs to run his businesses he rarely had a reason to come out at all, unless it was to feed, even then he would stay around the richer side.

He had just felt he wanted to travel today, no real particular reason. Turning 17 just a few days ago had been a small affair, since he wasn't 'directly' close to anyone he didn't bother to celebrate these things, thinking it better to simply stay to himself and to continue amassing power and knowledge in the background.

Harry was enjoying his little walk down the street, not thinking much of it as he walked, his senses acutely aware of all things that went on around him, then the smell hit him.

Intoxicatingly strong, something that made not only his vampiric side shiver but also his magical side.

Something new he's not smelt before, something even more delicious than usual.

Shifting he turned into the alley to his side, letting the shadows take into him as he became hard to spot, hard to see as he began to quickly move. Following the scent as he traveled quickly between buildings, making no sound as he moved.

The sun had fallen just an hour ago after Harry enjoyed a good dinner, having visited a great place to get a good steak.

Weaving through the night with ease he came to stop where the smell was the strongest.

A woman stood to the side of the road, what looked to be a strange haze around her. Despite the blatant show of magic she was using, that wasn't as odd as what she was wearing.

Robes that came out of many, many centuries prior and the regal manor of a noble, how she seemed to stand aloof of her surroundings. Focusing his hearing he focused on the woman.

''The Leaky Cauldron... How I loath this dirty place... But with the restrictions, I can no longer apparate into Diagon without speaking to the... 𝘎𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘴...''

She said the last word with such a strong venomous tone, and the sneer on her face really sold her hatred at that moment.

'Leaky Cauldron... Goblins?'

Harry's brow lifted, it had been a while since his Blood itself had spoken advice to him. That must mean it wanted him to get this person.

Harry had learned over the years that the 'voice' that spoke occasionally to him was in fact his Blood, and its power speaking to him. Acting as help to guide him in certain things, whoever had changed him did not leave him without at least the 'bare' minimum of help.

Harry empowered himself, moving with a blur once he saw her draw what looked to be a stick, he suddenly caught it.

Reaching through the haze with ease as he snapped it like it was a piece of wood.

He then grabbed her, pulling her back into the shadows he empowered himself stronger, suddenly being blocks away in a burst of speed.

He had a hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming and sunk his teeth into her neck.

Her blood hitting his tongue was like an explosion inside him, both his magic and blood singing praises as he fed from the woman slowly and deeply.

Being sure to get everything she was worth out of her.

Memories of magic, another world apart from the one Harry had been living in for all these years, a war, and so many more memories.

Knowledge of magic, studying how to be proper in a high-class society, how to act like a proper 'Pure-Blood.'

These memories continued to amass, shadows dancing around them as magic melded more perfectly with his abilities, with Harry as he began to subconsciously control his magic far better with the new knowledge, all the years of practice and training.

Understanding how a wand worked.

Harry dug further, into the woman's mind, into her private life. Her dead husband from a war with the 'mudbloods'. People who had been born with magic without having had magical parents.

He reviewed her like, her Husband had been a Death Eater serving this 'Lord Voldemort', until apparently, a child named Harry Potter had killed him.

How she had lived off the amassed wealth of her husband from having stolen and pillaged freely during the war, how she trusted only other purebloods and kept all her wealth hidden away, but due to her not trusting the goblins, or others with knowing where she lived. And herself not being good with wards, she had little to no protection around her home or wealth.

Then when Harry learned of her having not been seen by anyone in years other than her own house elf 'Pooka' who by the contract she had used to get the elf before.

Harry now owned due to 'Duel' rights, since he had won in disarming her.

Such a stupid contract, if it followed the rules of all duels, even ones like an ambush like Harry had done, it wasn't worth signing such a daft contract.

But, this assured Harry about something. He could indulge.

Indulge he did as well, he drained the woman for all she was worth, memories, knowledge, skills, and blood.

He continued to drink and drink as he learned more about the wizarding world as a whole. By the time she was drained of every drop of blood.

Magic beckoned to his call as he conjured flames, letting her body burn freely as he plucked her storage pouch from her waist, discarding the dried husk to the side as it burned freely.

Harry examined the pouch, hidden extension charms. A small mountain of golden coins greeted him along with a few books, potions, and a spare wand and holster

Taking the wand from the pile, as he touched it he felt the start of the wand attempting to reject him before it seemed to stop.

Another wand he earned by simply killing the woman, such a feeble thing.

Giving it a look he rumbled.

It was 12 inches, ash wood. He had no idea of its core or its original owner. But it would be useful to him for now, because he now had an entire life's worth of spells to go over and train.

His first would be the 'banish' charm.

Tuning it to ash and filth he waved his wand over what was left of the woman. Cleaning the spot of ash and anything else left by her.

A diagnostic spell to let him know there were no traces for human police and he tied the pouch to his belt. Strapping the wand to his belt as well. Practicing pulling it a few times before he nodded. It felt just right.

''Pooka.''

With a pop a house elf appeared shaking like a leaf, clutching her arms.

She had felt her connection with her old mistress suddenly be torn away only to be replaced by a much heavier connection.

She was shaking out of the newfound magic and power in her, the connection she had to her new master so much stronger than anything she has felt before.

The magic was overflowing from her, and due to the natural way, the magic seemed to be healing some of the abuse from her previous mistress and masters. The person whose magic it was wasn't inherently evil.

''Yes, Masta?''

''Greetings Pooka, I am your new Master from now on, my name is Harry Potter, you shall address me as 'Sir Potter'. Understood?''

Pooka's eyes slowly widened as she began to sputter.

''P-p-p-p-POTTER?! Oh JOY! Pooka's new master is Harry Potter! POTTER! Yes Sir Potter! Pooka understands very well Sir Potter!''

Ah yes... Another thing he would need to address is how he was apparently a famous wizard, the wizard who 'Vanquished the Dark Lord Voldemort.'... But had no idea of such a world existed until after he drained some random wizard.

''Good, now take me to the Manor's Ward Stone'' Harry stated simply, offering his hand to the elf.

The elf burst into excitement, her hands shaking as she had to grab Harry's hand with both hands just to make sure she didn't vibrate away from him.

With a pop they left the alley they were in only to appear in a dark damp room.

Harry almost growled at the state of the place, he knew of the wizarding world for all of five minutes, and even he knew that a Wardroom shouldn't be left like this.

This was going to be hell for him to see all the disuse the wizards did to their own equipment.

Letting his hand touch the ward, he easily erased the old magic of the woman before him. Using his much stronger holds of magic to power the rooms, the room practically groaned around them as the Ward Stone seemed to moan beneath his hand.

He then turned, casting a variation of the Lumos charm that instead left his wand and floated above them lighting up the room.

''Pooka, go through the manor and began to deep clean everything, make a list of all things that need to be replaced or repaired and after you finish making the list bring it to me. I will get started down here.''

''Right away Sir Potter!'' The elf popped away immediately to get to work.

(End)
