Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Naobito vs Mute
" Hurry up and run Naoya. He's someone you cannot handle right now. ".
Naoya stares at his father before quickly nodding and sprinting through the dark forest. Mute glares at the fleeing before scoffing and shaking his head. Naobito locks eyes with Mute before speaking to him.
" Looks like the time for our battle has finally come. "
Mute grins at Naobito's comment before nodding his head and speaking.
" It is, your drunkard life will perish under a bright full moon. Quite beautiful don't you think? "
Naobito scoffs before he widens his stance spreading his feet apart. Naobito relaxes his arms letting them dangle past his waist. Seeing this Mute quickly starts to walk toward Naobito calmly. Mute and Naobito lock eyes once more until Mute's body vanishes...
In the heart of Shinjuku. The sound of cheering and laughter could be heard. Standing group together was a massive crowd of bloody and fatigued sorcerers celebrating as the final remaining curse was exorcised by a young woman.
" W-We actually made it out alive. "
Says a young man breathing heavily. Dry blood covers his entire body. He glances around through the crowd of cheering sorcerers until through the crowd. Standing on a building he sees a woman holding onto a clipboard with an annoyed look on her face.
Suda stands on a cracked rooftop while tapping her right foot on the cracked floor. Suda's plan of regrouping the curses failed before she regathered them. Every single one of them was destroyed. All she was left with was the sight of cheering sorcerers. Suda let out an annoyed scoff before speaking.
" Celebrate like you did something good. All you did was prolong the cycle of curses being born. Hmm, there isn't much we can do to turn the tide of the war. Geto is dead after running into Gojo after trying to flee. Nanako is dead. Negi is still unconscious lying face-first on the ground. The only person that can maybe, change the tide of this war is Mute and he's currently locked into a battle with Naobito. "
While Suda was talking about the loss of Geto's group. Their group wasn't the only one who took major losses. Ten members of the Zenin Clan were killed plus another 123 sorcerers totalling out to 133 sorcerers being killed during The Night Parade Of a Hundred Demons.
Over a thousand regular humans were killed by Geto's horde of curses. The city of Shinjuku was badly damaged with several collapsed skyscrapers from Mute battling Gojo and Yuki. The only fight still happening, is Naobito versus Mute...
Back in the dark forest, the sound of fighting could be heard until a loud bang rippled through the forest echoing off the trees. Naobito's head was launched up after being hit with a lightning-fast uppercut. Naobito stumbles back before he sways his body narrowly dodging a punch from Mute. Mute's punch grazes Naobito's left shoulder before he shifts his weight and throws a backhand that slams into Naobito's chin.
Blood leaks out of Naobito's mouth while his legs lock up making him stagger before a swift kick slams into his solar plexus knocking him onto the ground before he rolls up onto his feet and stares forward. However, Naobito doesn't see Mute and instinctually ducks making a powerful kick grazing his white hair.
Naobito spins his body while crouching before slamming his palm into Mute's left knee encasing him in glass. Naobito leaps up throwing a mighty uppercut that slams into the glass shattering it. However, Naobito's uppercut is frozen in the air unable to reach Mute's face. Naobito smacks his lips before dashing back coming to a sliding several feet away from Mute.
Naobito stares at Mute with his elderly heart beating rapidly while sweat pours down his wrinkled old face. Naobito wipes off the sweat on his face before he smirks and speaks.
" So, you are finally using your innate technique. "
During Naobito and Mute's first exchange, Mute never once used his innate technique instead, only battling Naobito and Naoya only using his physical attacks. However, this will change with Mute's next barrage of attacks.
Mute stares at tired Naobito before he smirks and speaks.
" Indeed, I was trying to figure out a way to use my curse technique reversal on you however, I couldn't think of one but I do have an idea but that will come a little later in our battle, Naobito. "...
