Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Libary Of Truths
A week has passed since Mute met Kenjaku and the disaster curses. The time is noon, and inside a fairly sized town near Kyoto, a blue-haired woman can be seen walking towards a library. The woman had a katana on her hip as her footsteps echoed out while walking on a sidewalk.
The blue-haired woman was known as Kasumi Miwa, Miwa walked up a set of concrete steps before being stopped by caution tape, Miwa glanced at the tape before ducking under it and entering the library through two large wooden doors, Miwa walked inside the building glancing around at the several massive bookshelves, the library Miwa was in, had two floors.
Miwa looked up at the second floor with a serious gaze on her face. Miwa had been ordered to investigate, a strange disappearance that had happened in this library. Five men oddly disappeared to never be seen again The library was closed being blocked off with caution tape.
This was Miwa's first mission, in weeks. After she had failed a previous mission and was punished by the Jujutsu higher-ups. Miwa walked towards a wooden desk in the middle of the library. The desk was used to check out books. Miwa walked around the desk staring at the desk looking for any pieces of evidence.
Miwa reached out grabbing onto a glass mug. The mug was full of cold coffee. Miwa swirled the coffee by moving her wrist before she gently set the mug on the desk. Miwa reached down and started to rummage through the cabinets pulling out several pieces of paper. What Miwa was looking for was some type of evidence to trace back to the killers of the men.
Miwa highly doubted that a curse was behind this murder. There was barely any cursed energy in the library. Miwa kept scurrying through the desk but after several minutes, Miwa gave up, Miwa leaned on the desk sweating as she sighed and murmured to herself.
" There has to be something that links to the murderer. They wouldn't have killed those men for no reason, right? "
Miwa pushed off the desk standing up straight before she walked over to a bookshelf. Miwa stood directly in front of the shelf before she reached out and grabbed onto a book, gently pulling it out of the bookshelf. The title of the book read.
" Kyoto, The Failed Assassination of Shoko. "
The library Miwa was in, wasn't an average one. Instead, it held information about the Jujutsu World. The library only looks average to blend in with other libraries. After all the best disguise is to look average.
Miwa flipped open the book and started to read through the book. The book lists the details of Mute's and Null's failed assassination attempt on Shoko even listing their preparation prior to the attack.
Miwa's eyes scan the book as she walks back towards the desk. Miwa closes the book before softly placing it on the wooden desk. Miwa let out a loud sigh before she murmured to herself.
" This is going to take longer than I expected. Might as well cancel the meeting with Mechamaru. But at least I get to chuckle reading this book. Can't believe they thought they could kill Shoko. "
Miwa sat down on a rolling office chair before opening up the book and happily reading the book with a grin on her face. Miwa started to read the book until suddenly, a voice from above spoke.
" Hey... "
The abrupt "Hey..." sent chills down Miwa's spine as she shot her head up and looked at the second floor of the library. A figure wearing a cloak could be seen leaning on the wooden rail on the second floor with his arms crossed.
" You know it is rude to speak badly about someone in their presence. "
Mute says with a chaotic grin on his face. Miwa's hands start to tremble as she drops the book on the floor and quickly stands up and grabs onto the scabbard of her katana. The grin on Mute's face grew wider before he playfully put his hands up and spoke.
" Don't worry, you're not going to be the one I kill today... "
Before Mute could finish his sentence, he leaned his head to the left as a cut formed on his neck spewing out blood. While blood spewed out, a figure appeared directly behind Mute holding onto a katana.
" He will be the one. "
Said Mute glaring back at Kusakabe. Kusakabe grinned eerily before a massive gash appeared on his shoulder making blood pour down his suit. Miwa stared at her teacher with widened eyes before Kusakabe abruptly yelled out.
" Hurry and run. Get the others. I won't be able to kill him alone. "
Miwa nodded her head while she spun around and sprinted out of the library slamming through the large wooden doors. Mute watched Miwa flee while scoffing. Kusakabe pulled up his cut suit covering the gash in his shoulder before he pointed his blade at Mute.
" For someone that complains about not wanting to die, you were quite quick to sacrifice your life for that brat. "
Kusakabe sneered before he entered into a stance and spoke.
" I wouldn't be able to call myself a teacher if I didn't. "
Mute smirked before responding to Kusakabe.
" Wise words. I'll make sure to share them with that student of yours. "...
