Chapter 45: Chapter Forty four:
After leaving Ron's house, Maya went straight home to prepare some food for Damian. Amber was sitting in the couch with a glass of wine in her hand when Maya walked in.
"Maya," Amber quickly stood on her feet when she saw Maya. She scratched the back of her neck and looked around nervously.
"I.... I haven't seen you around for a quite a while," she added trying to start up a conversation.
"I've been busy with Damian's case," Maya sighed throwing her bag in the couch. She walked straight to the kitchen,opened the fridge and started fishing out ingredients .
"Yeah.....about that, how's everything going?" Amber asked hoping to get as much information as she could.
"We finally found the person responsible for Damian being in jail, and, I must tell you I'm not surprised at all," Maya said, her head still buried in the fridge.
"Really? Who is she? Does she work here?"'Amber asked, trying to sound curious.
