Chapter 4: Trouble Makers
'A kid huh?' The big man restated his previous question. Though as a thought this time.
"Hey kid, where's your parents?"
'Shit, this guys big. I won't be able to use gluttony on him in his current state.' Fannum thought. He now knew the basics of his power, and because of that, he knew he wouldn't be able to use gluttony on the man in front of him.
"Um, my dad's using the washroom right now. We don't have a toilet so he's just outback over there." Fannum pointed over towards a densely bushed area in the distance. He knew that he didn't have a father but the men didn't. Fannum assumed they were not here for a good reason so he took the chance to mislead the men as a means to escape.
"Click, sigh. Dune Follow me, Crane you stay with the kid, make sure he doesn't go any where. If the father tries to flee the boy will be good incentive for him to stay." After clicking his tongue and sighing, the big man said that with a cold glint in his eyes, as he gestured to one of the two men outside Fannums hut.
"Listen brat! You'd better not do anything stupid, I don't mind killing kids." A tall skinny man, who was only now in Fannums view, exclaimed with a sickening grin.
"Ye- Yes sir!" Fannum seemed like a timid boy in the thugs eyes, though only because he missed the bone piercing glare that Fannum gave him.
'Fuck! How the hell do I get out this.' Fannum internally screamed. He had thought that the muscle freak would have been stupid, but clearly he was smart enough to leave a guard for him. Fannum didn't know how he would escape this situation, the two men were encroaching on the bush, and when they found out that Fannum was lying, there would be hell to pay.
As Fannum tried to devise a plan, he glanced around the hut. His eyes briefly fell on a sharp piece of broken plank, it was just barely hanging off the wall and could be ripped off with a simple tug. Fannum looked back to the man. 'He's tall but skinny, and he looks malnourished and weak. He has a dagger though, all it takes is a deep stab and I'm dead. But the same goes for him, if I stab him in the neck or eye he'll die instantly.'
Fannum was weighing out his choices, he could fight and most likely die, or he could let his lie be discovered and get captured. He didn't know what would happen if he got captured, so Fannum decided. 'I'll fight, I'll fight and kill these bastards.'
The skinny man was watching Fannum intently, so when Fannums eyes turned Blackish purple and small traces of energy started to ooze out of him, dancing around him like a spiralling water stream, the man lunged towards Fannum.
"Little devil!" The man exclaimed as grabbed at Fannums neck, he thought that the stream of energy was semi-formed bloodlust. Which though incorrect, was close. The energy Fannum emitted was a result of his bloodlust and glutton power assimilating, and releasing.
Though caught off guard by the mans actions, Fannum was able to react quickly. Jumping back, Fannum used all of the force his body could muster to swing the door forward. Seeing as the man was already half way through the door, him and the object would make a direct collision.
Bang! Crack!
The door expectedly hit the man, it hit him with enough force to break the door and the mans out reaching hand.
"Ahhhhhh! You fucking brat! I'm Gonna fucking kill you!" The skinny man was now on the ground curled up in a fetal position, cursing Fannum.
Fannum quickly regathered his thoughts.
'The wood!' Running to the broken piece, Fannum tugged on it. As it came loose, the skinny man now glaring at Fannum realized what he was doing, as he started to struggle to his feet.
"Fuck you bastard!" After getting the makeshift dagger, Fannum yelled and stabbed at the man who was now to his feet without another word.
