Chapter 14: Summer’s Tragedy Part 5
Akira, along with his five sisters, entered the crowd.
Both on the left and right, there are many stalls that form a straight line. This stall was founded by local residents, and provides many things, such as food, drinks, and games.
The presence of Akira and his five sisters became the center of attention, passersby would glance at them. After all, it's not every day that people see twins, let alone Quintuplets!
Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki are used to being cared for by people around them, as long as they don't have bad intentions.
"Let's buy takoyaki!"
Itsuki pointed at the takoyaki stall, smelling the delicious aroma in the air, she couldn't wait to buy takoyaki.
"Who else wants to eat takoyaki?" Ichika looked at Akira and the others.
"I also want to." The Yotsuba raised her hand.
"Anything else you want? If you don't have any, let's buy takoyaki for Itsuki and the Yotsuba."
Itsuki and Yotsuba went to the stall and bought a portion of takoyaki each, while Akira and the others waited.
A few minutes later, Itsuki and Yotsuba returned.
"Say 'Aaah'…"
Piercing the takoyaki with a stick, Itsuki blew on the takoyaki until it was cold, then fed Akira.
"Aaah... Yum Yum Yum..."
Opening his mouth, Akira took a bite and ate the takoyaki. As a habit, Itsuki would let him taste the food before she finished it.
"How does Akira-chan feel?" Yotsuba asked, she had not tasted the takoyaki she bought.
"Not bad..." Akira said honestly.
"Akira, what do you want to eat?" Nino asked, his hand never leaving his little brother's side as she came to the festival.
"Yakitori."
Akira pointed at a stall, in that stall, an uncle dressed in a white shirt and white headband was grilling chicken satay over charcoal.
"Akira really likes yakitori."
Miku wasn't surprised, she guessed what kind of food her little brother wanted to eat.
"Let's buy some yakitori."
The six of them went to the stall that Akira pointed at, and then Ichika ordered yakitori.
"Uncle, six servings of yakitori." Ichika places orders for everyone.
"Ready! Please wait, little miss."
Looking at the Quintuplets girls, the uncle spoke loudly and fanned the skewers over the burning charcoal.
"You guys aren't from Izu City, right?"
While applying the seasoning of salt and soy sauce, the uncle invites customers to chat so they don't get bored waiting.
"How did Uncle know?" Yotsuba asked curiously.
"Of course, uncle has lived in Izu City for more than 40 years. Uncle has never heard of any cute Quintuplets girls like you."
The uncle praised the cuteness and beauty of the Quintuplets.
"Thank you for the compliment." Ichika smiled politely.
"We're from Tokyo, we're here on summer vacation and also visiting Grandpa." Nino answered the uncle's question.
The uncle looks scary, but he's a friendly person. He had a casual chat with Akira and the Quintuplets, and he added two more skewers of yakitori to each portion.
"Uncle didn't miscalculate?" Akira saw that there were seven skewers of yakitori, normally there are only five skewers per portion.
"That's a bonus for you guys! Just take it!"
The uncle gave a thumbs up and smiled, showing sparkling white teeth.
"Thank you very much, uncle."
Ichika and the others express their thanks. After paying, they took a walk and looked at the existing stalls.
"Nino Onee-chan, I want to play that, is that okay?"
"Since Akira wants to play, let's go there."
Nino sees a stall running a prize shooting game with a toy gun, and she agrees.
They went to a shooting game stall, Nino paid the game fee, and then she gave Akira a toy gun.
"There are seven bullets."
Akira counted the number of bullets provided by the uncle with the thick mustache.
Taking the right angle, Akira closed his left eye and shot.
*Whoosh*
Bullets flew past a box of pocky.
"Just a little longer." Yotsuba was disappointed, as if she were the one who fired.
"Don't mind it, Akira-chan, let's try again." Ichika patted Akira on the head.
"There's no need to worry about gifts, the most important thing is Akira having fun." Nino tells Akira not to get discouraged.
"Akira must be normal." Miku clenched her fists and gave encouragement.
"Yum Yum Yum..."
Itsuki didn't say anything because his mouth was busy chewing the yakitori.
"I missed on purpose so I would know the accuracy of this toy gun." Akira said helplessly, he looked pitiful at his five sisters' words.
Hearing Akira's words, the uncle with the mustache just smiled broadly, he thought the boy was just trying to make himself look cool in front of the girls.
This time Akira didn't close one eye, holding the toy gun with only one hand, he aimed at the prize and pulled the trigger.
*Whoosh*
This time the bullet hit a silver pendant necklace, and the necklace fell.
"Congratulations, kid, good shot." Said uncle with a mustache, he handed the pendant necklace to Akira.
Ichika and the others thought it was just rookie luck, and didn't think much of it.
On the third bullet shot, Akira shoots twin ribbons in the shape of a butterfly and manages to knock it down.
On the fourth bullet shot, Akira shoots the action figure of Oda Nobunaga and manages to knock it down.
On his fifth shot, Akira shot a green ribbon in the shape of a rabbit's ear and managed to knock it down.
Sixth bullet shot, Akira shoots a pair of star-shaped hairpins and manages to knock them down.
Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki were amazed to see Akira's marksmanship, which never missed except for the first shot.
Even the mustachioed uncle's mouth dropped open at this scene. He didn't expect the boy in front of him to have such astonishing shooting skills. The only thing to be grateful for was that the boy wasn't aiming for the grand prize and was aiming only for the cheap prizes.
"Take your prizes, kid."
The mustachioed uncle gave all the prizes that Akira shot down, and hoped that Akira would not play anymore.
Taking his prize, Akira no longer played, he didn't want to make the mustachioed uncle's business suffer a loss.
Seeing that Akira no longer had any intention of playing, the mustachioed uncle breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.
"How, I'm amazing, right?" Akira said he was neither arrogant nor humble.
Ichika : "I never knew Akira-chan had a shooting talent?"
Nino : "Why stop playing? Next aim for the grand prize."
Miku : "It's better not, if Akira keeps playing, Uncle Seller might cry secretly."
Yotsuba : "Miku is right, don't harm other people's businesses."
Itsuki : "Nino is too much."
Nino : "You guys make me look like the bad girl!"
Akira stopped their little bickering, and started distributing gifts one by one.
"A pendant necklace for Ichika Onee-chan."
"A butterfly ribbon for Nino Onee-chan."
"This action figure is for Miku Onee-chan."
"Green ribbon for Yotsuba Onee-chan."
"And a hair clip for Itsuki Onee-chan."
After distributing the prizes, Akira said with a smile.
"It's just a cheap present, I hope Onee-chan likes it."
"Of course Onee-chan likes whatever Akira-chan gives."
Ichika hugged Akira to her chest. Then Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki hugged Akira in the middle.
"Onee-chan... I'm having a hard time breathing..."
Akira said it was hard because he was surrounded by his five sisters
*Shuuuu---boom*
Fireworks shot into the sky, then exploded beautifully in various shapes.
"Look, the fireworks have started." The Yotsuba looked up at the sky.
Only then did the Quintuplets let go of Akira, they watched the fireworks display in a happy mood because of the gift Akira had given them.
Akira still doesn't realize the tragedy that awaits him is imminent.
