Chapter 171: Another Childhood Friend?

School break time.

After eating the lunch made by Shouko and Mahiru as usual, Akira intended to go to the library to take a nap.

Despite possessing unbeatable durability, he was a bit mentally exhausted after killing the enemy with the ruthless method yesterday. After all, he was just an ordinary person in his previous life, and no matter how strong he was now, his mentality didn't change to that of indifference.

As he was walking down the hall, someone called out to him from behind.

"Where are you going, Nakano-kun?"

Turning back, Akira saw a cheerful and glamorous girl, a jacket tied around her waist, looking like a Gyaru girl.

She is Jougasaki Mika, one of his classmates.

"It turns out, Jougasaki-san, I'm going to the library. Want to come?"

"What's with your tone? It seems you are not happy that I greeted you."

"It's just your feeling."

To be honest, Akira wasn't too used to interacting with a hyperactive girl like her. If not for the previous incident, he would not have interacted with her.

"Since Nakano-kun asked me, it would be impolite if I refused."

Mika walked beside Akira with a brilliant smile on her face.

(I'm just being polite... She's really coming along, forget it, maybe there's a book she wants to read.) Akira thought as he yawned.

"You yawn a lot, staying up late is not good for your health." Mika was concerned.

"I didn't stay up late."

"Liar, you obviously look very sleepy."

"I just had a bad dream."

"What dream is it?"

"Confidential."

Akira was confused as to why Mika was acting so friendly, even though they had only talked once. At most, only the occasional greeting when in the classroom.

The two chatted and unknowingly arrived at the library.

Because the midterms had passed, the library was very quiet, except for the librarian, who was a bespectacled girl, who looked like a geek, there were almost no other students.

The bespectacled girl turned towards the door, saw a male and female pair enter, lowered her head, and continued to read the book in her hands.

"This is my first time at the library."

Mika looked around with curious eyes, but her interest quickly faded, other than the shelves filled with books, there was nothing interesting.

"Don't talk too loud in the library." Akira advised.

"There's no one in the library, it should be fine." Mika answered.

Entering the library, the two found a couch tucked away in a corner of the library.

"Wow, apparently there is a sofa, I just found out." Mika exclaimed excitedly and sat down first, then patted the spot next to her.

"Come sit here, Nakano-kun."

"En." Akira nodded and sat down.

The silence, and the softness of the couch made his mind relax, and his eyelids grew heavy.

"You are very sleepy, just sat down for a while, you are about to sleep. Wa-Want a lap pillow?"

Seeing him immediately close his eyes as soon as he sat down, Mika offered him a lap pillow with a slightly flushed face.

Akira didn't immediately agree, opened his eyelids, and asked suspiciously:

"Why is Jougasaki-san so nice to me? Don't you know lap pillows are usually done by couples?"

There is no cause without effect, Mika's kindness only makes him suspect the other party has ulterior motives.

As for Mika liking him?

There is indeed that possibility, but Akira is not narcissistic enough to think that Mika likes him just because he helped her once.

Mika's expression showed disappointment at being suspected, after pondering for a while, she decided to tell the truth.

"Nakano-kun really doesn't remember who I am?"

"Eh...?"

Akira was confused, Mika's statement was as if they had met in the past, and even knew each other.

"Wait a minute, give me some time to remember."

Several minutes passed, even if he had [Photographic Memory], he didn't remember Mika.

Mika smiled wryly and said sadly:

"I don't blame you, Aki-kun. At that time, my appearance was indeed that of a tomboy like a boy, no wonder you don't recognize the current me."

"Aki-kun?"

His brain worked fast, and through [Photographic Memory], Akira remembered that only one person had ever called him that.

"Are you Saki-kun?" He said, he couldn't believe it.

"Finally you remember, Aki-kun, I was so sad you didn't recognize me the first time we met in so long."

A beautiful smile appeared on Mika's face when she found out that Akira still remembered her after being given a hint.

"Liar... You are so different! The Saki-kun I know is a boy, and your name is completely different."

Akira can't believe the Gyaru girl in front of him is his childhood friend.

When he was in third grade at school, he often played with other children in the park. Of course, the games he plays are not child's play, after all, he is in his 20s mentally. It was impossible for him to play like a child.

He met a boy sitting alone on a swing, and feeling sympathy for him, he invited him to play catch ball.

The boy introduces himself as Saki. Akira didn't mind the other party not telling his family name, and they kept playing together until he became a 5th grade elementary school student. However, they had to separate because Saki's parents had to move out of town because of work demands.

The two have never had contact since then.

"So you're a girl!" Akira still couldn't believe it.

"Mooo~ What's with your incredulous stare, I really am Saki. I never said I was a boy."

Mika puffed out her cheeks, and had a dissatisfied look on her face.

"Then why did you use a fake name?" asked Akira.

'That's not a fake name, I took the last word from my family name. Jougasaki becomes Saki. I'm afraid Aki-kun won't play with me if you find out my family name."

Aside from work reasons, the Jougasaki family has a bad reputation in the neighborhood. Because of that, Mika was ostracized, and no children wanted to play with her.

"It makes sense, your family used to spread cult teachings in the past."

Akira understood Mika's reason for using a pseudonym.

"Don't mention it, I don't want to remember it anymore."

Covering her ears with her hands, Mika wants to forget all of her family's dark past.

"Long time no see, Saki."

Akira patted Mika's head and smiled gently. He felt sorry for her for having to bear the shame of her parents' actions.

Feeling a hand stroking her head, a blush covered Mika's face, but she didn't resist and felt very comfortable.

"Everything is past, I no longer think about it, and also, don't call me Saki, that feels really weird."

"Then what should I call you?"

"Call me by my first name."

Considering that Akira often calls other girls by their first names, Mika feels envious and jealous.

"Sure, Mika."

For Akira, calling a family name or first name, wouldn't make a big difference.

"Well, Aki-kun already knows the reason, you shouldn't refuse, right?"

She patted her thigh.

"😐"

Akira didn't think it was too complicated, since a girl offered a lap pillow, why refuse. Then, he lay down on her thigh.

"Thank you for the hospitality."

Even though she herself had ordered it, when Akira actually lay on her lap, Mika felt embarrassed and happy at the same time.

(Fortunately no one was in the library...)

Mika was grateful that there were only the two of them, if there was anyone else, she would not have performed such a bold act.

"Can I stroke your hair, Aki-kun?"

"Do what you want."

"Excuse me."

Mika stroked Akira's hair gently.

"Very fine hair, what shampoo do you use?"

"I don't know, my big sister bought the shampoo."

"That's true, Aki-kun once said that he has a big sister with quintuplets. I wonder what they look like."

"Wanna see? I have a photo."

"Want to."

Mika nodded her head, then Akira showed his photo with the quintuplets on his cell phone.

"Wow, Aki-kun's big sister is really pretty." She exclaimed in surprise at the five beautiful girls in the photo.

"A lot of people say that." Answered Akira while putting the phone down.

"Can Aki-kun tell them apart." Mika asked curiously.

"Certainly can."

"How to? Is there a special trick?"

"By using love."

"Pffftt... I never expected Aki-kun to turn out to be a Siscon."

Mika covered her mouth to keep from laughing.

The corners of Akira's eyes twitched, he wanted to argue, but considering his behavior towards Ichika and Miku, who had crossed the moral line, he chose to remain silent.

The interaction between the two is secretly noticed by the bespectacled girl, who is in charge of maintaining order in the library. She was worried that the couple had committed immoral acts in this place. But after seeing them just making out, she couldn't stand watching anymore and turned to leave.

(I shouldn't have come to check on them) The girl thought, then returned to the book lending table.

As an unpopular girl who didn't have a boyfriend, it was annoying to see other people making out in front of her eyes.

(The riajuu should die!) The girl cursed in her heart.
