Adrik nodded at her.

"It will." He smiled at her and gently caressed her hair. "How about we go again when you and she have calmed down? I'm just sure you both would have thought deeply about it."

Layana lifted her head and looked at him. "That would be okay. But... I doubt she would still want to see me."

"I doubt she would dislike you forever." Adrik chuckled. "You just have to let her see the good side of you."

Layana smiled and slowly nodded her head. "Okay…"

Early the next morning, Nix, who had arrived at his hospital, slipped into his working coat.

He walked to the ward where Vincent was administered and knocked on the door.

"Come in," Vincent's voice said.

Nix pushed the door open and stepped inside. He walked to the bed and stared at Vincent, who was, as usual, seated up on the bed.

"How are you?" he asked.
