Chapter 35: The Devil Shadow Assassin

ZI YIN GRITTED HIS TEETH, recalling the day the sky turned black. The omega deviant Lei Bo had needlessly slaughtered his Shigu, Zi Ling. Zi Yin will never forget the look in her eyes as her life faded and she took her last breath. Zi Yin's heart ached for the future she would never have, and how his Shifu had been brought to his knees when Zi Yin brought back his daughter's dead body.

"Everything all right, Master?" Fu Tai asked, touching his shoulder.

Zi Yin took a sharp breath, trying to ground himself in the here and now.

He couldn't show weakness, especially since he commanded the Emperor's armed forces.

"Better. Much better." Zi Yin returned to look at the guard. "We'll catch that filthy dog tonight and bring head as a trophy to the Emperor."

"Yes sir!"

"Fu Tai," Zi Yin commanded. "I want you to take our strongest troops and have them lying in wait for an ambush. Make sure the wolves have shifted and are ready to fight."
