Chapter 5: Chapter 5 [Elementary Days (pt.2)
//Previously: The trio retrieved their bentos and munched on the delicious meals. Just another peaceful day in 1st grade :)//
Enatsu and Chibana, the devilish duo, otherwise known to be Emiko's bodyguards. They would chase away any boys daring to come close. Chibana would first tell them off when Enatsu would use force impatiently. Then, Emiko would make up excuses so the three wouldn't get in trouble. Of course, she still discouraged her friends from fighting (despite liking the drama) since she hated parent calls. It never happened before and she wished it to stay like that forever.
For the last few months, not a single confession has successfully passed to the legendary beauty, Emiko. That was, until this one glistening snowday.
While the three girls were reaching their cubbies, they realized Emiko's had a small letter inside. She opened the card and read it aloud to her eager accompanies:
[Dear Shimizu-san,
I am writing you this letter because your friends, Chibana-san and Enatsu-san, are too scary. So I hope this will get across to you. I love you very much, I will give you my life if I have to! I will buy you the most expensive things, I will be the best man ever, I will be a gentle father if that's want you want, I will be anything you want! But if you still disapprove my confession, I completely understand. I am far out of your league. But please at least acknowledge my feelings for you!
Love, Kazuo Sugawara]
"Damn, when did these boys get so sneaky? Don't worry, Shimizu-san! We'll take care of this!"
"That's right! You don't even have to lift a finger, Shimizu-san! Me and Chibi will be on our way!"
"For the hundredth time, stop it with the chibi."
"Then stop calling me stupid!"
"But it's true."
"Chibana, Enatsu. Stop."
They obeyed. It was the first time their idol, Emiko Shimizu, called them without honorifics.
"I told you before, didn't I? I don't like anything involved with fighting. I won't intervene in the nickname situation but leave that poor boy alone. He went this far to try and contact me, right? Plus, I really appreciate letters."
"So what do you want us to do then, Shimizu-san?"
"What else should you do if someone writes you a letter? You reply."
~Class 1-3~
"HEY! WHO'S KADOOH SUGIWURU?!?"
"It's Kazuo Sugawara, stupid."
"I'M NOT STUPI-"
"So yeah, who is he out of all of you?"
The classmates turn their head to a grey-haired boy.
Kazuo's POV: Oh no! It's Chibana-san and Enatsu-san! Why are they looking for me? No way, are they here to kill me?
Couple of hours ago, Kazuo was playing truth or dare with his friends and he picked dare. He was forced to write a letter to his crush who is no doubt, Emiko Shimizu. After all, she's beautiful, kind, smart, just everything! Kazuo was really scared because of the demon duos, Chibana and Enatsu, but afraid of being bullied by his buddies, he ensued.
Kazuo's POV: I'm really going to die!
The two girls were coming closer to him when out of nowhere, Chibana gave him an envelope.
"Tch. Our goddess is truly kind, she spent most of her precious time to write you that letter!"
"H-huh?"
"What do you mean hUh? Take the letter you IDIOT!"
"Enatsu, as much as I want to scream too, Shimizu-san told us to deal it swiftly. So stop. Attracting. Attention. But yeah, here's the letter. Hope to see you never."
Once the duo left the room, Kazuo was surrounded by his classmates.
"What is that, Sugawara-san?"
"Can we see it to?"
Just before Kazuo could even process what happened, the teacher came in and everybody settled down. They eventually forgot what happened but after school, Kazuo secretly opened the letter to see a delightful reply:
[Dear Sugawara-san,
Thank you very much for the letter. I was greatly touched by your confession but sadly, cannot return your feelings. But I would love to have another friend so if you are willing, would you like to be pen pals with me? You can send the letter to my cubby like before after school. The weather also seems pretty cold so make sure you're not freezing from the snow.

Kazuo's POV: Shimizu-san, a real goddess! She truly gave me great mercy! The demon duo were right! I even have a privilege to write to the Shimizu! I cannot wait! I must hurry and write!
Back to Emiko, a couple of hours before, she was informed that Enatsu and Chibana gave the letter. To be honest, if it were any other boy, the great goddess might have written the same thing but the encounter would've ended there. However, she tried to keep in touch with Kazuo because if she wasn't wrong, possibly Koshi Sugawara's older brother. She really wanted to meet Karasuno's refreshing setter so this came to be the result. Quite manipulative.
