Chapter 65: Obtaining the Missing Amulet Part 1

He expected several monsters to live in the old fortress but he didn't expect it to be this many and organized. Kobolds, Goblins, down to Ogres that have their own pack location. And the boss that controls them is the eerie monster as described by the Assassin.

Removing the first two Assassins, they are now down to 25 manpower.

Their headcount is enough for mid-level dungeon raids. There are three types of dungeon raids. First is the Party Dungeon raid, consisting of a 5 to 10 players party. Next, is the Mid-Level Dungeon raid, consisting of 20 to 50 players in a party. And lastly, an All-out Dungeon raid, is the highest difficulty of dungeon raiding. It consists of 70 Players to 100 Players.

Moving forward, Gerard immediately moves his plan to action.

He might not be a guild leader like Lina but he has his fill of raiding a dungeon and leading a team party. For that reason, he called Lina.

"Lina let's consider this a dungeon raid. I'll leave the planning to your hand. Do what you think is best for the situation. I will personally grant you additional monetary rewards, so let's ensure we get what we want."

Lina couldn't ask for more and nodded her head in agreement, turning around and gathering everyone.

"Once again, we will show what Sky Heaven is made of! We are the first core group in the history of the Kingdom to defeat the very first special monster since the game was launched, that is only one of many achievements and it is not my intention to stop."

Hearing their Guild Leader, they replied with vigor and enthusiasm. Gerard nodded his head implying he was pleased. It might sound cheesy but it is only proper to make a statement like this to boost the morale of players every once in a while, this is true if they are about to dive into a dungeon raid.

Monsters in a dungeon are more powerful than monsters lurking outside the dungeon. This is because the mana concentration inside is making the monsters become stronger.

And then Lina along with Gerard proceeded to start up a plan. Since they are running out of time, their agreed-upon plan is not foolproof.

But it is fine, as long as they can kill the monster and obtain the amulet. Although he would lie if Gerard didn't admit he is not nervous.

Unlike players, they can revive infinitely every time they died. But for him? No, that's not how it works if one is considered an NPC in this world.

And Gerard is definitely a certified NCP.

He took a deep breath.

In this time of crisis, he needed something or someone that can assist him to survive.

"Supreme System, have you searched the monsters inside the old fortress?"

[Confirming.]

"Can you give me the breakdown per monster, their level, their numbers, and exact location?"

[Just a moment.]

Good. At least, he accurately references what they are about to face.

[Mead Citadel: Old Fortress]

[First 40 meters consist of Goblins and Kobolds. Their level ranges from Level 3 to Level 5 and both monster's packs are numbered 20 each.]

[The first 60 meters consist of ogres. Their level ranges from Level 5 to Level 15 and they numbered 15. Passed those 60 meters is a powerful monster and its level is unknown.]

Gerard's mouth twitched.

Just what he had expected. The report of the two assassins is slightly incorrect. The ogre's highest level is level 15, not level 10.

With this information, they can adjust the plan once again, after all, they still have 30 minutes left before they start to move.

What irked him is the monster and its level is unknown. This is to be expected, he is currently down to Level 1 due to sacrificing his experience just to kill the enemy earlier. He didn't regret it at the time but after learning about their current situation, he cannot help gritting his teeth.

Fortunately, they are stationed on the hill beside the old fortress so the range of Supreme System is within its radius of searching.

"What's the name of the monster?"

[Slime.]

Huh?

"Huh?" Gerard dumbfoundedly asked the Supreme System.

[The monster located in the heart of the old fortress in the old cathedral is Slime.]

Slime? What kind of far-fetched storyline is this?

Gerard weakly sighs and looks over the horizon. The sky is deserted of clouds, giving the moon and many stars illumination the night sky.

But that made sense. If a high-level monster cannot deal an instant death to level 4 players, then its base damage must be very low compared to its peers with the same level. The only threat is the slime's speed. Even with low damage, the advantage of speed in terms of movement and attacking speed are enough to wipe them out if they are not careful.

And only slime can fit into that conclusion.

Then Gerard heard someone snort which made him turn around but didn't find any person behind or standing beside him.

Was it my imagination?

Ever since he woke up after assisting Sky Heaven to defeat the monster, he sometimes thought of hearing something like someone snorting or the sound of tongue clicking.

Well, whatever. He already forms a conclusion but it is not time to ponder over it.

There are more pressing matters than that, like his life.

With that in mind, he took out the dagger he received from Kurosawa and ask the Supreme System about it.

Gerard takes a look at the dagger full of rust once more before asking the Supreme System.

"Supreme System, can you analyze this dagger?"

[This dagger is…hm… peculiar.]

Huh?

Wait, why it seems the supreme system is unsure? Aren't you the God of this virtual game? Why are you so unsure?

Beads of sweat started appearing on his forehead. If the Supreme System is not omnipotent in knowing everything there is in this virtual game, then he cannot stay to think that the pieces of information provided by the Supreme System are always correct.

Once again, Gerard heard a clicking of the tongue on his mind. And this time, he is sure it is the Supreme System.

[This dagger is peculiar not because the Supreme System cannot analyze it, it is peculiar because it has a trace of unique data. Moreover, this dagger is easy to analyze. This dagger only works for the kind of slime.]

Gerard frowned and ask the Supreme System once more.

"You mean it cannot deal damage to any monsters aside from slime?"

[Confirming. And to the Hosts as well.]

"What?'

[The Supreme System found the unique data relevant to the Host's data so this dagger cannot hurt the Host. It might appear it is stabbing the Host and making the Host bleed, but in reality, it did not deal any damage to the Host.]

Gerard frowned deeply.

So it is like an illusion? If it does, then this dagger has many uses depending on the situation.

Well, thinking of certain situations, he hope a sudden occurrence forced him to fake his death.

While staring at the dagger in his hand, an idea suddenly emerges from his mind!

"Can I forge this dagger to my Spell Blade?"

[It is possible.]

Gerard's breathing starts to get haggard as the amount of excitement from his heart starts increasing.

"Then if this dagger and the Spell Blade merge through forging, does the effect of both weapons can be retained.]

[There is a possibility, but the chances are depending on the tier and level of the Blacksmith. The higher the Tier and Level, the high chances of successfully forging the two weapons into one weapon, retaining their special effects.]
