Chapter 10: A story

A few days later.

"Don't worry he will wake up soon." Xalier was standing in the doorway to Temorsth's room.

He was talking to Elah, to try and calm her down, and not to worry about Temorsth's "sleeping".

"Uhm... We had just come back and now..." She was sitting at Tem's bedside and was caressing his sleeping face.

"I have to go... I informed them that I will arrive today so..."

"Just go...!"

"..." Hearing the angry voice of Elah, Xalier's face turned to a slightly dark one. 'Why did I give it right away?'

"Honey you too have..."

"Don't Honey me!"

"..."

"We told many where we had gone to so most think that we went for the treasure that appeared, but I already received a message from my trusted follower that the old man's influence grew too much..."

"After I go wait for a few days, we have to avoid as much suspicion as we can... and... My love, you too have to go back. We were away for too long."

"I know..." With this, first his father and after a few days his mother returned to their respective races.

...

In a world of blue, a Great Monster spoke to a young creature. "What is it... are you... giving up?" The monster's voice was deep and husky it hurt the young creature's ears.

*cough*cough* Since the young creature was floating on blue and only 'saw' blue, he found it strange that he saw red in his palm after coughing.

"You are the copy of life... a mockery of its freedom..." The sound grew louder and deeper after each interruption.

"Ogh..." The great monster's hoarse voice shook the young creature, but he didn't hate it, even insults were better than complete silence.

Turning his head up, he 'saw' white things crossing the blue that was above, sometimes hiding the yellow-white orb he 'saw'. Opening his eyes, he saw only darkness, then closing them, he could 'see' his blue world again.

"Now tell me!" The great monster spoke even louder and the young creature coughed even harder.

"Will you become a beast that feeds on destruction or... you'll make them lament our unholy birth?" The great monster's voice calmed down as he spoke the last sentence, it felt like he was waiting for an answer.

As red liquid dripped from the young creature's mouth. "Story..." The young creature's voice was weak, giving almost no signs of life and strength, but it still sounded like it wanted to fight.

"Good..." The great monster's voice creped chills in the young creature.

"The young man woke up from the dream of the universe..."

The great monster began to tell what the young being began to imagine... or rather remember?

...

Temorsth woke up after what seemed like a week of sleep. "Ugh... My body hurts..."

"How much time has passed? It was chaos in my mind."

[The Host has slept for three weeks straight.]

Hearing Aidanas voice he brought up the system, with it he become confused for a few seconds, seeing all the notifications that happened in those three weeks he was shocked.

"Wow, why so many..." He quickly scrolled through them and noticed that most of them were about something getting stronger.

[Notice: The Host's will is greatly strengthened after experiencing high-velocity changes!]

[Notice: The Host's body is strengthened by experiencing the pressure of the deep sea!]

[Notice: The Host soul's volume increased by a small amount after thousands of death-like situations!]

"I don't care, don't care... is there something... oh!" There were dozens of notifications so it become boring but he become excited by the last few messages.

[Notice: New Title 'Experienced the Singularity' acquired!]

[Congratulations: The Host can better control the two energies of light and dark!]

[Notice: The Host can balance the two energies for the next 7-13 years, after which the powers would be released from the seal if not strengthened.]

[Congratulations: The Host has strengthened the body enough to gather energy, mana, or Qi!]

[The Host's Dantian can be shaped!]

[The Host's Mana Core can be formed!]

[The Host's unique characteristic Vampire Core is formed after consuming blood!]

"I did become stronger..." After reading those he was happy, knowing that he could finally use the magic he learned and that he could use mana to strengthen himself even more.

"From here on out I'll train even harder... I just need some more time..." Until now, he had only trained his body without mana, magic, or any kind of energy, so he had not achieved true strength in this world.

'I was physically strong compared to a human child, but any stronger adult would have most likely beaten me, even if they weren't trained they would be strong enough to break my bones but now...'

'Status, stats only.'

[STRENGTH: 14(+25)]

[CONSTITUTION/VITALITY: 12(+25)]

[DEXTERITY/AGILITY: 13(+25)]

[INTELLIGENCE: 16(+25)]

[WILL/MIND: 26(+35)]

[WISDOM: 21(+30)]

'Holy... with the bonuses, I'm even stronger than my old self...'

'But... why are there so many bonuses? Aidana you said that the bonuses come from Titles and currently worn items so...Oh right the new Title.'

'Titles.' Calling out, a small window appeared.

[Name: Experienced the Singularity (Degraded)

Rank: True Immortal(Degraded)

Rarity: Ancient

+25 All stats

Description: Obtainable only by one who has fully absorbed the energy, meaning, and knowledge of the Waters of Singularity, or one who has experienced True Singularity.]

'What? Isn't this insane... it gives more than my strength and it is degraded...'

[There was not enough water to fully unlock the Title but I have to prise, even though I helped your body absorb it to think your mind could digest it to the True Immortal level honestly, I'm astonished.]

[I have never even heard before that a Mortal could understand something that is at the True Immortal rank...]

'Hm... maybe it was luck or something...'

[...]

'Anyway, I am relieved even if the worst happens I would live 7 more years.'

'As I'm a little older than five I will live to around 13...' Temosrsth was happy with those extra 7-13 years he got, but it was clear he didn't want to stop now, so instead of thinking about what hadn't happened yet, he asked what he didn't know.

'Aidana what is a Vampire Core what happens if I get it?'

[The Vampire Core is a unique characteristic of the Vampire race without a Vampire Core, you are not a vampire!]

[Anyone who is not born a pureblood vampire can decide whether they want to be a vampire or not.]

[This is also true for turned vampires, but the person who turned them can force them against their will.]

[On the other hand, if they decide they don't want it, they refuse the offer and become members of another vampire-mixed race.]

[With this, the one loses most of the vampiric powers, with only a slightly longer lifespan, lighter skin tone, and slightly better dark vision remaining.]

[If they decide to accept being a vampire, they must consume blood and form their Vampire Core!]

[This can later be used to get everything that is a vampire!]

[Both the vampires' strengths and weaknesses become part of whoever forms the Vampire Core!]

'Hm... It is almost exactly what I thought it would be... If I become a vampire, will I stay an elf?"

[Yes, the fact that the host is a half-breed doesn't change. The host will be a "Vampire-Light Elf".]

[If the host does not form the Vampire Core, the host becomes a "Light Elf(Vampire)".]

[But before making a decision, the Host should know that if the Host forms the Vampire Core, the Host's classification will change from Humanoid Creature to Humanoid Monster.]

*sigh* "It is pretty good..." Hearing all this made him feel relieved. He wanted to continue both his parent's bloodline and species, he wasn't concerned by something like classification.

'Will we be drinking blood!? Ahh, finally some real stuff!' At first, he thought it would be hard to drink blood and stuff, but after the intervention of Feral, it was no longer a problem.

"I should use my blood if I can..." Feeling ready to take his first step toward true power he got up from his bed, but before he could do anything, a warning came from the system.

[Warning: Every weakness a vampire has will affect the host in its current state and Realm!]

'Wait... Aidana, if I become a vampire, will I burn under the sun?'

[Yes.]

'Am I going to hate garlic? Is it going to be impossible to move away from my coffin or something?'

[Yes and yes.]

"But...why..." He thought about it, and thinking of his father, he remembered something strange.

'But wait, my dad loves garlic and we used to train on sunny days too and he even likes to nap in the garden while sunbathing.'

'It can't be... are you lying?'

[Really...?] He could feel the irritation in her voice.

'Then what is...' Temorsth's face became even more confused.

[The comparison is too big, the Host's father exists in the World Source realm...] Aidana suddenly fell silent after realizing that she had made a mistake in the heat of the moment.

'Aidana...what is the World Source realm?' Squinting, he thought he could see through another of her lie.

[Warning: Host doesn't have a high enough ER!] Hearing the system made him squint even more.

'Aidana...' A sweating emoji appeared in the light blue window.

'Why did you say there are only 6 Realms when there are more?' It was after his death that she told him this information in the Hall of Bones.

"..."

[...]

'Aidana, it's not a problem that you lied, just tell me why.'

[It's... it's because of the Law of Plausibility of the worlds, too much difference between the level of the information and the ER of the creature who hears it will incur a penalty.]

'Then why didn't I get any punishment or anything when I heard it?'

[This is the first offense it was overlooked because of that.] It was a lie, but she played it well so it was believable.

"Huh..." 'Anyway, what's up with my dad standing in the sun and I can't stuff?' Honestly, Temortsh didn't care if she was lying or not telling the truth. If she helps him and doesn't want to hurt him and his family then everything was fine.

*sigh* 'I didn't want to lie, but I mostly told the truth, there indeed is a Law of Plausibility which if broken, the world would punish him.'

'It's just... why would the world punish someone for what The World's Will said?' It would be like beating him for her fault, it would be unreasonable and Aidana was too proud, she didn't want to admit that it was her fault, so she created a little lie instead.
