Chapter 2: 2. Letter
The woman stopped and turned on her heels. With her expressionless face again, with empty eyes, she addressed him.
"Mr. Lind?" she asked as if they were just acquaintances, strangers. She even seemed a bit annoyed. "What do you need? I already told you that I don't have time right now, anything else you can consult with my lawyer, I left the number with your secretaries."
Anyone listening to them would think they were just talking about business and not about a marriage on the brink of breaking up. Gale could only hold his breath so as not to explode at that moment.
If he was in the office, he would take that arrogant expression off that little woman, undressing her and making her jump on his lap naked, he would keep her like that until he threw her on the desk and made her moan until she screamed.
But he couldn't do it anymore, or maybe he could. It would be one last time before delivering the papers.
He moved closer to her, intending to take her arm and lead her back, but she took two steps back before he reached her. She looked at him like he was a stalker and a degenerate. She had never seen him like this in his life. She always had that look full of tenderness and desire for him.
"Mr. Lind, please behave like a gentleman. The deal is finished and I don't want to discuss anything else with you. Please stay away from me and, as I told you, if you have anything else to discuss, do it with my lawyer, I won't talk anymore with you."
"Do you think you'll get rid of me like that?"
"Mr. Lind, remember that you were the one who proposed the deal," Helena reminded him with a bit of disgust in her voice. "And you were the one who signed it first. Besides, even if you hadn't filed it these days, I would have. My lawyer already had the papers ready."
That was a blow that Gale never expected. That she already had the papers prepared. That she planned to leave. That was impossible. She had no rights. He was the only one who could decide whether to leave her or not. She couldn't even think of parting with him.
"You... have no right to present anything!" he told her angrily.
Helena crossed her arms and smiled wryly. "Mr. Lind, your affair with Sofia Jin and who knows how many other women are all over the news. Photos, videos and..." she took out a letter from her bag with an image of an ultrasound. "See for yourself. Miss Hill begged me to let you go. She is pregnant and it is yours, Mr. Lind, so…" she sighed while shaking her head, "I'm not so brazen as to leave a child without a father, but you gave me the papers first. Well, I think you already knew about her condition. And with that said, have a good day..." she turned around leaving the man stunned with the letter in his hand. "Oh…by the way, tell your girlfriend to please stop texting me pictures of both of you in bed, or I'll have them all posted in the news."
Saying that last thing, she didn't even turn around to see the face of the man who now seemed to have eyes as big as the moon. Meanwhile, she walked in her high heels and headed for the exit like a goddess incarnate.
Gale squeezed the letter in his hand. The reason for their divorce hadn't been Sofia, it hadn't even been her pregnancy. He did not know that Sofía was pregnant as he had never been in bed with her. The only woman who could turn him on and give him a boner was Helena.
Only after a few seconds, he walked after her again. This time he would make her stop. But he didn't know the reason. He had the feeling that he should explain everything, tell her that he never cheated on her, that he was never unfaithful, and that he didn't sleep with anyone else.
But before he could catch up with her, a car pulled up in front of Helena and she got in.
Gale could only watch the car drive away. He took his phone and dialed the number of his assistant and his driver. "Bring the car, I'll go to the mansion."

Helena heard the sound of her phone ringing. Again, it was Gale. The last two times she had hung up on him instantly, she didn't feel like talking to that man again in her life. If he didn't want her as his wife, she wouldn't beg him anymore. In fact, when she found out about his countless affairs with other women and with Sofia Hill, she already had plans to separate from him, but she knew that the Jin family, her father and brother would not let her.
Those two had been using her to ask Gale for money every time they failed in a project. It was enough, but she couldn't say no to them because they were holding the paintings of her mother who had passed away many years ago.
However, for months she had planned to take the paintings from them one way or another. So she waited, and they fell into her trap. Now all she had to do was get away from that man who called himself her husband.
The fourth time her phone rang, she arrived at the mansion. The place where she suffered so much abuse from his mother-in-law, his sister-in-law, and Gale's aunts and cousins.
She hung up again and headed for the driveway when the car pulled up.
"It's about time Gale divorced that bad luck harpy, when will he listen to me?"
"Olga, don't worry, I heard Kevin talking to Gale, it seems that today he called that prostitute to sign the divorce. Sooner or later it will be the end."
"Is it true? We will finally get rid of that ominous woman. I hope Sofia returns to the country quickly. She will surely be very happy to hear the news... if only..."
Helena entered the room at that moment and looked at the group of women. As always, they all looked at her with disgust in their eyes and apparent jealousy. After all, even with the best jewelry and the most expensive dresses, none of these women was more beautiful than Helena, who with just a simple outfit could unseat them in an instant.
They hated her so much.
