Chapter 2: Chapter two
In the forest where several men and women was moving around the caution tape, while some was taking pictures of the bodies that was found off a nearby hiking trail and a middle aged man who looked to be in his fifties who kneels down over some bodies that had horrendous wounds with most of their cavities was completely cleaned out while another had his throat ripped. Not even a drop of blood could be found on or in the bodies, he takes his hand over the roughness of his cheek not having the time to shave this month for all the overtime he has been putting in.
" Sheriff...no blood located on or around the scene, it's like the bodies was drained somewhere" A woman in her early twenties said closing her case up then motioning for the men to start bagging the bodies, she walks over to the sheriff who looks at her with a sympathetic smile as she looks around the beautiful wilderness that's now been stained with cruelness and bodies of young college kids.
" it looks like they were strewn up then gutted like a deer after a hunter wants to drain the blood and collect the meat" Rae said looking around then had goosebumps all over her body, they both did like they were being watched by predatory gaze.
" we gotta call in for help...the wilderness here is to vast and not enough man power to handle these cases, over the past two months over fifteen deaths and the first seven to eight was marked down at first as animal attacks to bring now changed to homicide.
" Rae I'm glad that you could come here helping me...I know Alexis is going to be happy seeing her best friend" sheriff Monroe said with a chuckle while he walks her to the passenger side door of his car then making his way to the driver side.
Alexis was in her last class of the day which was one of her art classes that she uses one of her free periods to let students come to finish some projects, she watches Riley finishing up the portrait of Blair.
(" well at least she drew one of me to, that snobby cheer leader just seems to hover around or near Riley these days." ) Alexis thought, this is a small town and Alexis has degrees in art also in photography.
Alexis was asked to just fill in for one of the missing teachers and now the gym teacher is gone, she noticed today they hired a man who is taking over gym classes and also the assistant coach position.
Alexis wants to ask Riley out on a date or maybe even a friendship date, since Riley is Eighteen and also happens to have the same interest as She does plus the attraction they both have for one another.
(" well I guess the attraction that we have with Riley") Alexis thought seeing Blair stealing glances of Riley again making her feel a pang of jealousy, she is waiting for the last bell so she can meet her best friend at the new art gallery that's having it's premiere today.
" Miss. Monroe" Riley said after standing at her desk for a minute while Alexis was in deep thought, she jumps a little then meets those beautiful green eyes that Riley has.
" well...the gallery is opening and I have some tickets for you" Riley said pulling out four tickets for the gallery and dinner that was happening tonight at the premiere, Blair was intently listening while gripping her fist watching the two talk. The chemistry could naturally be seen when Alexis and Riley was speaking to one another.
" I'd love to...I actually was planning to go since I found out about the raven industry was remodeling the old warehouse, I'm just surprised I got to meet one of the artist I admire" Alexis said with tinted pink cheeks making Riley smile seeing this side of Alexis, she takes a stack of tickets then places them on the desk.
" well here is tickets for the students, all they need to do is come and have a good time...I guess I'll see you at seven then" Riley said smiling as she turns bumping into someone.
" Watch where your walking" Blair hissed, Riley gave a polite smile then nods her head at the both of them and Alexis could see the longing in Blair's eyes regardless of how rude or mean she was to Riley.
" thank you Blair " Alexis said taking the paper from the cheerleader who was glancing at the tickets, Deep down Alexis was hoping she would t take a ticket or hopefully the bitchy side wouldn't let her attend the gallery tonight.
" Miss. Monroe I've heard that you've been waiting for this gallery to finally open and I guess the whole town will probably go" Blair said grabbing four of the tickets, a part of her was upset since Riley didn't personally give her a ticket but she has been a bitch to her lately.
" I guess I will " Alexis said looking up at the clock, she starts fixing her desk when the final bell rings for the school dismissal when a figure shows up at the door. Blair notices the woman who is as beautiful as Riley and Alexis, the only thing is she didn't feel anything toward anyone but Riley.
" Rae !!!!" Alexis said with a squeaky voice running over hugging her friend tightly, Blair release a breath she's held this whole period which she came to finish her art project and that was because Riley came here for her free period.
(" I hope that's her girlfriend and she doesn't want Riley") Blair thought to herself as she walks out of class to see Trevor and his goons waiting by her locker, when she walks up he pulls her into a kiss and she pinches his side making him jump back.
Riley was standing there trying to get in her locker, Blair curses Trevor for being clingy right when the girl she likes is around.
" move " Blair said bumping Riley's shoulder when the group walks away, she steals glances of Riley who smiles shaking her head grabbing her bags from her locker then jogs out of the school.
Trevor notices how Blair goes out of her way to be close to this girl, he also thinks it's because Blair doesn't like the girl so he'll help to make the girls life hell for his girlfriend.
When Riley walks outside she seen a deep scratch on her driver's side door making her huff out in annoyance as she checks how deep the scratch is and pulls out her phone walking around the car to see that her back tire is also flat.
" Frank...yes I need you to bring me a car and have my tire replaced on the cobra...also a new paint job...blood red...yes love it" Riley said on her cell phone as she watches Trevor walk up to his car with a smirk on his face as Blair glances at the flat tire and the large scratch across her door.
" Ril—" Blair started but was cut off by two others speaking.
" Blair get on the car" Trevor said at the same time as Miss. Monroe jogs over with her friend checking on Riley, she grits her teeth then slams Trevor's car door making everyone look at her since she shuts the door so hard.
" can I give you a ride or I can wait if you have triple A coming" Alexis said with a shy smile tucking a piece of hair behind her ear which completely takes Riley off guard at how beautiful Miss. Monroe truly is and how she held the same beauty as Angelina jolie which happens to be one of Riley's star crushes.
Riley notices that Miss Monroe and her friend have some Asian in their blood which made her find the both even more attractive, the other woman reaches out her hand to Riley.
" hi I'm her bestie Rae" Rae said checking out this brunette with verdant green eyes that she has never seen that color eyes before which is mesmerizing as she stares at Riley causing her friend to clear her throat with a chuckle making Rae blush.
" I'm Riley it's nice meeting you Rae and Miss Monroe I'm fine my friend is coming as she seen that Frank sent Connor to bring her limited edition new Mercedes parking behind them.
" you have good taste in cars " Rae said smirking at the two cars, a man who looked to be Riley's age or around Alexis age runs over with a smirk that quickly turns to a smile while hugging Riley tightly.
Alexis and Blair that was watching clenches their first when the guy spins Riley in a circle as they both smile at each other.
" when did you get here Connor" Riley said laughing as Connor sets her down, he then grabs Riley's bags holding them.
" Connor this is Rae and Alexis Monroe who happens to be my teacher" Riley said giving him a warning glare, he nods his head then shakes both women's hands and Alexis was pouting about her introduction.
" A-Actually I'm just a fill in until they hire a new teacher, my father the sheriffs Best friend asked me so I'm actually close to Riley's age" Alexis said mentally facepalming herself for the awkwardness, Riley nods her head thinking that Alexis is liking her friend and she frowns for a second before covering it up with a smile. The thing is Rae thought the same thing which made her happy thinking that Alexis doesn't like this girl who she is now interested in, Alexis notices her friends flirty vibe towards Riley which she tries not to get jealous.
(" great not only Blair but Rae and possibly this guy who I still don't know his relationship with her") Alexis thought looking over seeing Blair stealing glances from her boyfriends car, Trevor was just as nosy and watching the four people and also a pang of jealousy at how Blair has been to interested in this new girl.
They all talk for five more minutes then they all leave with the promise of meeting each other at the gallery grand opening which Riley has been planning for a couple years now just didn't know this place would be where she'd open it at.
Connor drives Riley home while they get ready for the party where Riley is wearing a feminine dress suit, while Connor had a matching suit that was made by Tom Ford personally for them both.
The town was much livelier than it has been in over a decade, the sheriff put his deputies on duty for the premiere shutting down the street so all of the cars can park, Alexis arrives in a tight red dress with a open back and a deep v cut in the front with red bottom stillettos while she seen her friend Rae in a similar dress but in a black color and a shorter train.
" Rae you look beautiful" Alexis happily chirped looking around seeing her two other friends she invited that were men, they take quick pictures then she seen her father leaning against his car drinking a coffee.
Alexis sighs seeing the state of her father, he hasn't shaved in over a month and looked stressed out, when she starts walking over she seen Riley and Connor walking up to her father.
" Mr. Monroe it's so good to see you again" Riley said shaking the sheriff's hand, she smiles when she watches Alexis and Rae walk over with two men following behind them. A part of Riley got jealous and she had to push the thought away as she steals glances of the two women who looked ravenous in their dresses.
The tall man with the brown curly hair shakes her hand with enthusiasm and a wide smile, the blonde headed guy had the same reaction and even done a happy squeal.
" Riley this is Anthony and Bradley our best friends" Alexis said making sure to let Riley know that it wasn't a date of hers, the two men watched both Rae and exits basically acting like two teenage girls trying to get the attention of their crush.
" Riley it's time" Connor said, Riley turns to the other five people then looks at the sheriff, he looks wore down and depressed.
" Mr. Monroe I have a chair at our table for you, my aunt actually has some papers for you to sign so we can fax them off before tonight ends " Riley said with a leading look causing the sheriff to smile at her and nod his head as all seven enter the event.
" I'm thankful for you doing this for our town Riley...it's been a while since we've had a turn out like this" Sheriff Monroe said looking at basically the whole town turn up to the event, she was showing them to the table that she will share with them when a blonde wearing a very revealing blue dress was standing at the door and looking around for someone when both of their eyes meet.
The whole table was watching her and looked over to the blonde, all of the men do a knowing smile at each other while the two girls was now glaring at the blonde who starts walking over to Riley.
Blair's heart beat was pounding in her ears as she starts moving toward Riley, they both walked toward each other and Blair's cheeks held a blush as they now stood in front of one another.
" I'm glad you could make it Blair....did you come alone" Riley asked as the girl nods her head nervously playing with her fingers, she was gonna bring Trevor with the group of friends that was coming, but when she heard that he was the one that vandalized Riley's car she broke up with him.
Blair thought she would feel sad or hurt and she only felt relieved, only one person filled her thoughts since she met her.
" Actually I'm single...I mean um yeah I'm single now and my friends are late" Blair said nervously as her face turns a shade darker red, Alexis was watching every move they both made and so was Rae while chugging down her wine.
Riley walks Blair over to the table beside them and has one of her workers show Blair's friends over to a VIP table, she sat down having their backs close enough to where if both of them leaned back they would be face to face.
The dinner went well and so did a party to where they done a raffle and making sure that everyone at the party went home with a prize, they all went into the art gallery after seeing some photos and art work from Riley.
Blair and Alexis seen large canvases that had full body portraits of them, they both started blushing when their friends oohs and awes and the girls both smile feeling butterflies in their stomachs.
Alexis and Blair look at each other then to each other portraits, they both glare at each other before continuing on looking at the artwork.
