Chapter 5: 05
After Sakumo, Yukan started to introduce himself.
"My name is Yukan Norio, 9 years old. My dream is to be strong enough to always protect my mom and my friends, which, by the way aren't many. I like to eat sweets. What I dislike is … are a lot of things but mainly, I hate coward people." Yukan spoke in the same way as Sakumo did, like a machine, he simply filled in the information in the given template.
Sakumo looked at Yukan with an inspecting gaze and then looked at Minato.
When Minato did not speak anything for some time, Sakumo said," Want an invitation or something?"
"Ah! No no… " Minato was startled but then introduced himself without any delay" My name is Namikaze Minato, 9 years old too. I want to become the Hokage in the future and I don't like liars. As for my liking … I like almost everything and everyone around me." Minato was the only one who gave a little different introduction. His introduction was the only one which was a little bright.
"Good. Now that we are done with introductions, I would like to know both of your strengths. I need to know how much training you both need. Come at me, go all out." Sakumo said as he closed his eyes.
"Especially for you guys, my precious students, I will also close my eyes."
Although Yukan knew that Sakumo at this age was a Kage-level powerhouse, defeating him and Minato did not even demand Sakumo to spend any effort, closing his eyes was just an insult at a different level.
Yukan threw a shuriken using his full strength, aimed at Sakumo's throat and wanted to kick him from the left side.
Although Yukan knew he wouldn't be able to injure Sakumo, he did not expect Sakumo to catch the shuriken using his middle and index finger and to stop his kick with simply a flick of his hand.
Even if they only graduated, Yukan still had 15% of the Benimaru template unlocked.
"So, is it my turn or do you want another chance?" Sakumo smiled and asked while looking in Yukan's direction.
"No, wait for a second Sensei," Yukan said and ran in Minato's direction.
"Minato, now, we will…."
After discussing the plan, both Minato and Yukan nodded looking at each other. The two of them were ready for the next round.
Minato stood on Sakumo's left and Yukan on his right.
Sakumo was calmly standing and yawning in front of them.
Minato and Yukan threw their shurikens in Sakumo's direction as one went to his front and the other to his back.
They had planned to attack Sakumo from all four directions. According to the two, attacking from all directions would make it a little hard for Sakumo to tackle everything and would at least open his eyes.
"You both are… idiots," Sakumo said as he spun 360 degrees and caught the shurikens that were going to reach before Yukan and Minato would reach him.
Then, in a fraction of a second, he caught Minato with the back of his upper body and appeared behind Yukan.
Yukan did not have enough time to react but was still able to throw a kunai before getting caught like Minato.
"That was a good one, Yukan. I am sure you could have killed a genin easily if he was in my place."
Sakumo then simply stood, lifting the two using his arm's strength and said," You know, the method you just used is very old, anyone with some experience could counter it and kill you easily. But not bad kids, don't be upset about it… Now, I guess it is my turn to make an attack."
Sakumo then swung his arms with the two still in his hands.
He then threw them both in opposite directions, as if he were a player doing a discus throw.
Yukan was thrown directly into the wet mud, rolling like a ball and Minato's body hit the only tree as he spat a mouthful of blood.
"Come here both of you," Sakumo shouted.
Yukan, with small bruises all over his body and Minato, with body pain, came forward quickly.
"You both, come here tomorrow at 5 A.M. I will train you. You are too weak and won't even survive a day on the frontlines."
Yukan and Minato felt like it was a punishment to reach by 5 A.M. since it meant they had to wake up at least an hour earlier.
Even if they are sure that their injuries will heal soon, this kind of hard training will stress the body out.
Sakumo looked at their expression and recognized it. It was the same expression he had when he just started training with Fuduka.
"You know, only a coward scared to do work and a liar who will lie to himself about his goals would have the expression you both have right now." Sakumo bent down and ran his hand through their muddy hair.
"I also used to be like you guys, but one day my sensei told me something, he said that if you want to achieve what nobody has, you must do what nobody is willing to."
Hearing these words, the inner YOUTH of both Minato and Yukan was suddenly set ablaze.
'To hell with tomorrow, let's start the training right now.' That was what the facial expressions of the two said.
"Go home now kids, I also have to report to Lord Hokage." Sakumo turned into smoke after saying this.
"Shadow Clone" Yukan realized that the Sakumo that easily screwed over both of them was just a shadow clone and not even the real Sakumo.
Yukan quickly bid Minato farewell and ran towards his house.
He had to wash and dress his wounds before they got infected.
-At night-
Yukan was swinging his katana in the pitch-black darkness.
The dark did not matter to Yukan anymore because he also had Benimaru's skill [Magic Sense] which could sense chakra all around. It did not matter to him anymore if he even turned blind right now. Though it is not something pleasant, Yukan would at least not have to struggle with everything like how a blind person has to. (No offence to blind people reading this)
"1242…1243…1244…124-"
As Yukan was swinging his blades, he heard a system notification.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations on completing a one-time hidden quest, doing 1,000,000 swings]
[The host has been awarded: 1x "All-healing pill]
[Using this pill, any disease or any injury can be healed]
"Naisuu. This is some good stock eh?... That said, uh, system can you answer if I will have more hidden quests?"
[There are not many more hidden quests, only a few more]
[The system recommends the host continue his grind rather than depend on hidden quests and awards]
"Ah, the hard work will never stop. I already know how hard I have to work…Until this body breaks."
-1 Month Later-
"No, Sensei, I cannot do any more laps. Please let me stop. The motivation is all over" Yukan said with his tongue out of his mouth like a tired person, he was also drenched in sweat as he ran around the training grounds.
"Of course, I never said that you cannot stop. All that you have to do is to defeat me in a spar and then you can do absolutely what you want."
"...Got it, I'll continue." Yukan looked at the sky and said," Minato looks like we'll meet in the hospital as patients."
Minato is currently in the hospital, taking a few days off from the hard training.
It was just some mild food poisoning which got him a few days off from the training.
