I arrived at Dad's doorstep exhausted. I was so tired. It took me almost 4 and a half hours to get there. I stared at his door, not sure if I wanted to go in. I mean it's not like I'm welcomed.
"Aaron!, you numbskull, where's my phone? " a voice screeched out of nowhere. I'm guessing that's Bree, my step- sister. Last time I saw her we were both eight. I remember seeing her curly soft brown hair, sparkling black eyes and curved cheekbones.
She looked like an angel straight out of heaven but now she certainly sounds quite the opposite. Aaron is loud boy of fourteen. He has dark brown hair like Bree, light green eyes and cute dimples. Aaron looked a lot like Lex( stepmom) . I knocked on the door. No one answered as I tightened my grip on my luggage.
My face was dripping with sweat of nervousness. Would they treat me like cinderella? I shuddered at that thought. I don't do mice. The door suddenly swung open. I had to dodge to avoid being hit in the face by the door. My eyes met with Bree's, she has definitely aged she lost her angelic face and replaced it with badass but pretty face. We stared at each other for a while. "Bitch" Bree muttered under her breath.
Ouch buh i wasn't surprised, she never liked me anyway. Dad probably brainwashed her or maybe to took my sorry our Dad's character. Either way I don't care. They can both rot in hell together, they might even become friends with the devil. Before I could give Bree a snarky remark Aaron run out the front door and hugged me. " Beecccaaa I missed you so much"
" Really? Do you even remember me? We haven't met for almost eight years now"
" That's why I missed you. Duh"
" Whatever I missed you too kiddo".
" When mom told me you were coming I was so excited. Finally I have a fun older sister". Bree gave him a dirty look when he said that. Aaron just rolled his eyes at her her. It seems they aren't that close as I thought. Well at least someone in the family likes me. Lex had always been nice to me but I sometimes detected a hint of sacarsm in voice whenever she complimented me or my mother besides that I found her weird and fake.
Something wasn't right with that woman. " Don't just stand there, come in sis" My heart warmed when he called me sis. As I went into their house, I saw everywhere was painted white with everything else black. I have to admit it was chic. While I was admiring their house, a hand yanked me back. Bree's voice crept into ears ".
Beautiful right? Just don't get any ideas of stealing since you're now as poor as the racoons in the garbage. Yeah that's all what you are garbage who doesn't deserve to live with us" she pushed me so hard that I fell on the floor. Normally I would slap her so hard she would forget her stupid pride at once y but I have to behave. I was no longer at home no one can protect me here.
I got up and sighed as straightened my clothes. I dropped my bags on a nearby couch. Aaron who had been absent minded and didn't see his older sister harass me said " Mom's not home yet, you have to wait for her" I was relieved when he said 'mom' not 'dad' I really cannot be bothered with him yet.
Aaron excused himself and went upstairs. I was glad when Bree followed him. I really didn't want to deal with that witch right now. I flopped on the couch and scrolled through my phone. I saw a message from mom which read' hi baby, hope arrived there safely' I smiled.
She's always thinking of me. I also got a text from my bestie, Jacky, ' hey dummy where are you?' Oh, that's right I forgot to tell her I was moving in with my dad today. Note to self give her a call later. My exhaustion quickly took over me and I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

Holy Shit! I woke up with Lex's face inches away from mine. So creepy. It looked like she was studying me. She quickly masked her concentrated face with a sweet one. " Hi Becca" " H- Hi" I stummered . I checked my phone for the time. Turns out I was asleep for two hours which made me wonder how long she had been staring at me.
" Now that you're awake let me lead you to your room sweetie" I didn't like the fact that she called that. It sounded strange coming out of her mouth. I reluctantly followed her up the stairs. Talk about awkward. I'm being showed pity by the woman who my Dad left my mom for.
She led me to a room which was distant from the other rooms. I gasped when she opened the door.
