Chapter 69: Morning Appointment

"Sir, your son is here." The maid announced, catching a glimpse of Pete's car from the window as he drove into the compound.

Carl looked over his shoulder and nodded when he saw Pete stepping out of his car.

"Rosie, please, get me a glass of water." He requested, and the maid nodded, hasting towards the kitchen to get it.

"Sir Pete is here." She announced to Edna, Pete's mother, who instantly lit up with surprise at the arrival of her son.

"He is?" She asked with widened eyes, taking up the glass of smoothie she had made.

Rosie vigorously nodded. "Yes, ma'am."

"I'll be right out." She said, and Rosie hastened out of the kitchen with hurried steps.

She glowed up when she saw Pete walking through the door looking dapper as he always was in his work suit, neat hair and shiny shoes. The man was always just neat and clean. And his smile...a finishing touch of handsomeness to his already perfect self.
