Chapter 7: 5 | Engagement
One month has passed since I came to Winterfell, and the Starks are very welcoming as I was the true born son of Rickard Stark's sister. In this week I found out quiet some things about my mother. Her name is Sansa Stark, she was in love with a Knight from Western Lands. Since my grandfather was a loving father he agreed them to be wedded, and my father's name is James Kenway. And since my father was only a Knight, he changed his name to Stark by marrying my mother. They were in the Western Lands when I was conceived and stayed there until I was born. After that they decided to go to Winterfell to settle down, but instead of taking the King's Road, my father wanted my first travel to be in the sea. And that was a bad decision, as a storm took the ship to the bottom of the sea, and somehow I was the only one out of the three survived that. Should I consider myself lucky or something?
Anyway, I have been training with Brandon and Benjen in the morning and afternoon. After morning training I mostly wander around Winterfell with Lyanna, and she has been all over me for one week as I'm the youngest now. We would occasionally go to the Wolf's Wood to hunt some game and we would grill it ourselves and eat it on the spot. And the nickname she has is not for a show at all, she really is a She-Wolf. Well, it's good to see that she cared for me like her brothers, so I will have to make sure that if she tries to run away with the Prince I have to at least try and talk to her about informing uncle and Brandon unless I want to see them dead, which I don't.
In the afternoon, I'm studying history with Benjen. And boy was it interesting to know about the history of this world. I had only watched the show's first four seasons, and I don't know much about its history or lore, so it's always interesting to know the history from the people who lived here. And since I'm here with the experience of Ezio and Edward, plus the powers of Azazel I will be able to pull through whatever is going to happen.
As I was thinking about the things that would happen if I was not born in this world, Benjen tapped on my shoulder, so I looked at him and asked "What is it?"
"Father is calling you." He said that with a smile.
Seeing his obvious smile I asked "Why are you smiling like an idiot?"
"Oh! You can see that?" He asked me.
I didn't answer him and just went to the Solar where my uncle usually calls me.
When I reached there, I saw Lyanna right outside of the Solar with Brandon. Seeing me, Lyanna had a sweet smile and Brandon had the same smile as Benjen who still hasn't lost that smile even when he was with me all the way here.
Now, I'm not a dense protagonist or like that, but I can understand something from their smiles only and I'm sure that it's not a bad thing for me at all.
As I neared the solar, Brandon knocked on the door and said "Father, Edward is here."
"Come in." Is what I heard from the solar.
Opening the door, Brandon went in first followed by Lyanna then after her Benjen and lastly I went inside.
Looking inside the room, it's sufficient to say that this is a private matter only concerning the family as only the five of us were there.
Looking at me, my uncle said "Edward, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing fine, uncle." I replied.
"That's good." Then uncle looked at Brandon and Brandon nodded at uncle, so uncle looked at me and said "I will get straight to the point. My wife and my sister, your mother, had a wish. It was to marry one of their children to each other. And I want to honour them by fulfilling their wish, so I've talked about this with Lyanna. She has no problem in marrying you as she likes you very much." I looked at her and I could see the smile on her face. "So, I'm asking you Edward, if you have any problem with that?"
Looking at my uncle I said "Can I talk with Lyanna for a moment. I will answer your question after that."
He nodded at me, giving me permission to speak to her.
So I turned towards Lyanna and asked "Are you really sure that you want to live the rest of your life with me? Even though I'm younger than you by four years?"
"I have no problem with that." She said with so much conviction, where did that come from? I have no idea.
But, I had the confidence in myself that if she became my fiance, then I won't allow any kind of flies around her at all, even if the fly is a dragon or a stag.
So looking at my uncle I said "I'm okay with marrying her in the future."
Hearing that he smiled at me and said "Next year, when Eddard comes back from Vale, on your eleventh name day, you will marry my daughter Lyanna."
With that, she was engaged to me, and I'll make sure that she will not fall for another guy, unlike someone who just let it happen by whoring around.
"Now you can go do what you were doing." As uncle said that all of us went outside and Brandon gave me a bear hug just as we stepped outside saying "My little brother in law"
Benjen also joined in, after ten minutes of relentless teasing from both of them, I went to Wolf's Wood with Lyanna to hunt a hare to celebrate our engagement.
On our way to the woods, I told her "So only a year remains for our wedding, do you need something?"
"Why are you asking me that? I'm the eldest here so I will give whatever you need." Then with a teasing smile she said "What do you want my dear?"
I just looked at her like she was an idiot and hurried my horse into the woods as fast as possible, with Lyanna coming after me saying "Aw.... are you shy now?"
I just smiled at her unsuccessful teasing and we both disappeared into the woods.
