Chapter 31: Specific Class
Noah's pupil sharpens and one of his eyes starts turning red. He also, uncontrollably, lets out a lot of killing intent as well as Aura, which creates immense pressure and it becomes hard for the others to breathe. He gets closer to Juliana, grabs her wrist again, closes the distance between their faces, and says.
- What did you say? I dare you to say it again. in a calm but terrifying tone.
{Juliana}
" Wha.. Wwwhaat is that.... is he rea.. really human?"
- WATER MAGIC! WATER WALL!
A wall made of water erupts between Juliana and Noah, separating the two.
{Dull}
- NOAH! ONE OF YOUR EYES PROBABLY FEELS HOT, RIGHT?
{Noah}
" Yeah."
{Dull}
- AS LONG AS THERE ARE PEOPLE AROUND YOU DON'T OPEN IT!
Noah covers his left eye with his hand and leaves.
- MASTER! WHERE ARE YOU GOING? asks Gancelot while yelling.
Noah doesn't answer and keeps on walking.
- MASTER!? WE GOT TO GO TO THE TRAINING GROUND AFTER! DON'T FORGET! yells Gancelot.
[In the washroom of Jynn's dorm room]
Noah enters the washroom and locks the door, he looks at himself in the mirror and takes his hand off his left eye, and what he sees is a completely red eye with a sharpened pupil.
- I'd recognize this anywhere, blood red eyes and a sharpened pupil. This is the eye of a demon! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
{Dull}
- Calm down, Noah. Right now your emotions are probably on the edge but if you don't calm down you will lose yourself.
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
[Back in the hall]
- Are you ok, Juliana? asks Andre.
Juliana still seems to be in shock from the confrontation that happened a few minutes ago.
{Juliana}
" What was that? My whole body is still trembling. It was as if... As if... I was in front of the demons in the story we are read when we are younger."
{Andre}
" This was completely different than when we were in the classroom. This time there was bloodthirst mixed in with killing intent... As I thought... I need to report this to the principal. Noah Arcadios is a dangerous student. But... why was he hiding his left eye?"
[Back in Jynn's dorm washroom]
- What is happening to me, Dull? I could feel it back there. My emotions were spiraling out of control and if the teacher had not intervened I would definitely have broken her wrist and that's would be the best outcome. I felt it, my anger slowly turning into the desire to kill her and I couldn't control it.
- I told you to calm down. When you will be calm, your eye will return to normal by itself.
Noah takes a few deep breaths which help him calm down resulting in his left eye gradually going back to its original color, brown.
{Dull}
- Now that you are calm, listen to me very carefully. Right now, your Demonic Instinct has started affecting you that's why you are unable to control yourself. For normal demons, it only happens when they reach 15 but it seems to be different for half-demons.
The bell rings.
{Dull}
- We'll talk about this when you finish school, you can go now.
- Are you sure? What if it happens again?
{Dull}
- You don't have to worry about that. Demonic Instinct only activates in case of negative feelings and after it first activates there is a sort of cooldown. It normally takes a good 30 minutes before it starts up again and like I said as long as you remember that you are in control and you don't let your Instinct take over you will be fine.
- Alright.
Noah heads for the training grounds. When he gets there he gets all kinds of stares but most were of fear.
{Noah}
" I guess what happened in the halls didn't only have bad consequences. Now that they feel afraid of me they won't try to mess with me again.
Gancelot approaches him.
- Master! Are you okay?
- I'm fine. No need for worries.
- Are you sure? To me, it seemed like you had hurt your eye. he says while looking at Noah's left eye.
- As you can see I am fine. Now, focus! The teacher is here.
Two teachers arrive and they stop in front of the large group of first-years. The first one is tall, with brown hair and eyes, and with a lot of muscles. The second one is short, shorter than average. He also has brown hair and eyes but contrary to the other he doesn't have a bunch of muscles. The one with the muscles starts.
- Hi! I am the teacher for the martial arts-specific class, Guro!
The second one also introduces himself.
- And I am the teacher for the magic-specific class, Turo.
Juliana stares at Noah.
{Juliana}
" What was that earlier? His left eye was definitely red, earlier. What is going on? Noah Arcadios what are you hiding?"
Abel raises his hand. Turo points at him.
- Go ahead student and say your name while you are asking.
- My name is Abel and I would like to know about the classes since our homeroom teachers didn't explain anything.
- Is there really a need to explain? asks Guro. Isn't it pretty obvious?
- I like it when things are clear. Deducing is something try not to do, I prefer facts over deducement. answers Abel.
- Oooh. says, Turo. A true magician, huh? Research, theories, and facts. Those are the qualities and the most important things for a true magician. Finishes Turo
{Turo}
" I like this kid. Should I make him my disciple?... No, it's too soon to tell."
- Master. What is it?
{Noah}
"hmmm.. where have I seen those two?"
- You told me to focus but you aren't even focusing on the class, master. says Gancelot while crossing his arms and pouting.
{Noah}
"Out of everyone here, he might be the only one that acts his age." thinks Noah while letting a small smile form on his face.
- Anyways, starts Guro. The classes are separated into two. First is the general classes where you learn general knowledge and the classes are separated by your dorm. The second is specific classes the specific classes are magic class where all magicians students form a group, after that the martial arts class where all martial arts students form a group, and lastly the contract holder class where all contract holder students form a group. What you learn in a specific class is how to handle your energy as well as new techniques.
- I remember! says Noah.
- What is it, Noah? asks Turo.
- Aren't you guys the famous Ro thieves?
The students exclaim in shock.
- Master! Are you talking about the Ro thieves, the brothers that stole riches from nobles and gave what they stole to the people living in the slums?
Noah nods up and down to answer Gancelot's question. Gancelot continues
- But they were arrested two years ago but my father released them but they never stole again and were never heard from again.
- I am surprised you recognized us. says Turo.
- Well, I got a good memory. says Noah while tapping his head with his finger.
- What happened to you after that? Why did you stop stealing? some students ask.
- Well when we got arrested, we were brought to the king. At first, we were first supposed to be executed but the king and the principal decided it would be a waste since I was a Gold-rank magician and my brother was a Gold-rank martial artist. So they decided to make us teachers at the academy while doing our sentences at the same time we get paid and we send our pay to those who live in the slums. Anyways, enough about us and let's start classes. Contract holders student head to the Blue dorm class your teacher is waiting for you there.

- Now magician students follow me, says Turo. We're heading to the training grounds.
They leave.
- Where are we going, Teacher? asks Lumia
- We are heading to the forest behind the dorms building.
[With the magician class]
- Today, starts Turo, We are not gonna do anything too complicated.
Targets appear on the training grounds
- I want to see you guys use the mana spell, Mana Bullet. Finishes Turo
- Why does he want us to use it, master? asks Gancelot.
- He probably wants to see how we use and circulate our mana when we use a spell. Fixing a bad habit when it comes to mana movement will greatly affect our strength, positively of course. Answer Noah.
- Exactly, says Turo while pointing at Noah, You guys probably don't know that when you eject mana from your mana heart to create a spell, depending on how the ejection is done the spell can lead to not having enough mana or having too much. In other words for now we are gonna work on mana control. First, as you know, a mana heart is separated into four parts the first part is the receiver which receives the Energicules that transformed into mana. The second part is the storage where the mana is stored. The third part is the processor when spells are used it's the part that processes whether the magicians possess the right amount of mana hearts and the strength of the mana hearts to use the spell. The last part is the ejector, it's the part that ejects the mana out of the mana hearts in order to conjure the spell. For our first lesson, I will see how you guys process and eject. Now let's start, shall we? Who wants to go first?
- I will. says Noah while raising his hand.
Noah walks up to the first lane out of the four.
- Mana Bullet!
The bullet charges up and he shoots it at the target aiming dead in the center.
{Turo}
" Impressive. There is not a single waste of energy when he used his spell. So that's Noah Arcadios, huh."
[Flashback before the class in the teacher's office]
Turo is sitting down on his chair looking at the first year's class sheet.
- Turo.
Turo raises his head to see who approached him from behind.
- What is it, Andre?
