- Wands and staffs are weapons that magicians use. Since magicians, unless they have a constitution, cannot cast spells close to their bodies not to be hurt by their own spells, they use staffs or wands in order to create distance between the magic circle and their body since creating a magic circle close to the body increases the chance of getting hurt by your spell. If a wand or a staff is created using a unique material like wood that has absorbed mana, they can gain special abilities like increasing the power of Affinity spells or Mana spells.

The intercom in the class starts making noise and Darius starts speaking through it
- NOAH ARCADIOS. COME TO MY OFFICE.
The intercom goes off
- You can go, Noah. says Andre
Noah gets up and leaves the class.
*Knock* *Knock* * Knock*
- Come in. says Darius
Noah opens the door and enters Darius's office
- Sit down. says Darius
Noah sits down on the chair in front of Darius

- You didn't do anything. says Darius. I just needed to tell you that you are coming with me, after school, to the palace.

- Who are you talking about? asks Noah
- Your father didn't tell you?
- He didn't say anything but I did notice that he reacted weirdly to the words "Monster King".
Darius sighs
- That's only normal considering the fact that they were pretty close. says Darius

Noah leaves Darius's office
[With Noah walking in the hallways toward his class]

" Father knew the Monster king? Is the Monster king human or did my father befriend an intelligent monster? No, how could the Monster king be human when one of those directly under him, Groburk, looks down on humans? That only leaves the possibility that my father befriended a monster. But why? No matter how we put it, humans and monsters have been at each other throats since the dawn of time. Humans grew stronger and ended up being the strongest race in the human realm but that didn't stop the monsters which brought us to the current state of the world."

- Back then, there were a lot more intelligent monsters. But because of the greed of both races, nobody tried to establish peace. I am actually more surprised that there are still monsters left.

" Most of the time, humans are careless. When humans noticed that there were fewer intelligent monsters appearing they must have thought that it was a waste of time to kill the others.

" I don't have a grudge against monsters but in the end, they are more dangerous when they act by instincts than when they are intelligent."

Noah arrives at the door of his class
- Total Extermination. That's what I would have done. says Noah while opening the door of the classroom

Noah walks into the classroom and goes to his seat.
- Why did the principal call you? asks Juliana

- MYA! NOAH! SILENCE! yells Andre
- Sorry, teach! says Mya
- I won't say sorry since you also owe me an apology. says Noah to Andre

" What!?"
- Wha- What are you talking about, Noah? asks Andre with nervousness
- I am a 100% sure you know what I am talking about. says Noah

Juliana hits Noah's arm with her elbow

Juliana gets up from her chair

- It's fine, Juliana. says, Andre. Everyone has a different sense of humor

The bell rings declaring the end of the class
- Don't forget that tomorrow you guys have an exam. It's the first exam of your life so put a little effort in and try to study. says Andre to the students that are leaving the class
Noah and Juliana get out of the class.
- Wait! says Mya
- Right. I forgot about this whole thing. says Noah
- You forgot? asks Mya
- Well, I am not used to someone constantly questioning my decisions or picking fights with me. says Noah while looking at Juliana. Follow us, we were going to see the others before going to the specific class.
- Sure!
[In the cafeteria inside the main building]
- Wow. It's bigger than the cafeteria in my dorm. says Noah while looking around him. So this is the main cafeteria, huh?
- You've never come here? asks Juliana
- No. What about you? asks Noah
- I visited. I don't have enough points to eat here. says Juliana
- What's the difference between the main cafeteria and the dorms cafeterias? asks Noah

- What are they talking about? asks Mya
- Nothing important. Juliana answers
- So, master, why did you gather us before class? asks Gancelot. We were going to go to the training grounds.
- Training grounds? You are always there, arent you? I hope you are studying for the exam that's coming up. says Juliana
- Eeeeeh! Come one, sis! You already know that these kinds of things are not things that I am good at!
- What are you trying to say? asks Juliana with a smile
- I've already given up on passing the exam! says Gancelot with a thumbs up and a wink
- Boss, maybe we should, you know, let them have some space? asks Abel while dripping sweat

- It's a joke Noah made during class. Why are you bringing this up, Mya? asks Juliana
Mya stares at Noah and Noah is also staring at her
- Master? calls Gancelot. Can you say something?
-... What makes you think that it wasn't a joke? asks Noah
- I am quite the observant person, you see. When you made that joke, it didn't look like a simple joke to me.
- What did it look like? asks Noah
- A threat? A warning? A confirmation? It definitely was one of those three. says Mya. If it was not all of those three.

- Anyways. says Noah. Who is ok with Mya joining the squad?
- Boss! Is it true? Did Andre really try to kill you? asks Abel
- Why would a teacher try to kill a student? says Noah. I guess I should stop trying to make jokes.
- You're right, master. It wouldn't make sense for a teacher to try to kill you. says Gancelot. But Mya, I guess you really pay a lot of attention to my master, don't you? says Gancelot with a smirk
- Could it be that you like him? asks Abel with a smirk

- Maybe. says Mya. Speed Boost is a spell that boosts your speed by using healing magic to over-heal your leg muscles, by doing so your body removes the natural limiter it places on the muscles thus increasing the power that the muscles are able to use.
- Whooaaaa! says Gancelot. I didn't understand anything that you just said but it sounded amazing!
Mya chuckles
- Thank you, Gancelot.
- What is this brightness coming from you!? So that's what a girl is? I never knew because my sister is nothing but violent! says Gancelot while covering his eyes
- Oi! Gancelot! Do you really want to die? asks Abel with a frightened tone
Someone grabs Gancelot by the back of his shirt and drags him away
- Well, seems like you really are done for. says Noah
- Huh!? What's happening? Why is the brightness going away? says Gancelot.
Gancelot takes his hands off his eyes and notices that he is being dragged away by his sister.
- MASTEEEEEEERRRR! yells Gancelot with his hand reaching out to Noah
- Stop yelling, will you? We are not the only ones here. says Noah
- ABEEELL! yells Gancelot
- Don't worry, Gan!
Gancelot face brightened
- I will pray so that you may survive! says Abel
- YOU IDIOT! yells Gancelot
The twins leave the cafeteria and three people walk up to Abel, Mya, and Noah
- You guys are being too loud, first years. says one of the people
- Sorry about that. says Abel. We will be more careful next time.
- Next time? There won't be a next time.
- What do you mean? asks Abel
- We think it will be better if you don't come back here. says another one
- What!? says Abel. Who do you think you are to make this decision?
The third one walks to the front
- When was the last time we saw each other, Noah? he asks
- What do you want, Anthony Laos? asks Noah
