Chapter 48: Loki Familia
Seeing that Captain Finn and an pretty elven mage was looking at him, Alex had wondered if he had done something wrong.
'Nah, I haven't even talked to them.'
Consoling himself, Alex knew that he didn't even provoked anyone especially the Thousand Elf. As a member of the Loki Familia, Lefiya was still very known and she was a second class adventurer unlike a mere high class adventure like himself.
Suddenly, an idea came into his mind.
'The Loki Familia had first class adventurers in their ranks. Isn't this a perfect time to make use of my Supreme Overlord?'
Knowing that he will grow faster if he was against to someone stronger than him, Alex found that this was a good chance to increase the proficiencies of his skills and abilities. An opportunity to spar with Loki Familia is very rare. Alex didn't know if he will have one in the future so he thought it would be better to have it now.
If he were stronger, a spar against them would hold a much higher meaning however its not like they were waiting for him. The Loki Familia was always cautious with who they associated with.
'Now all that's rest is a good excuse to allow me to make the request.'
However, Alex was aware that he couldn't carelessly approach them considering they have a vast difference in status.
'Well I'm a carefree and free-spirited anyway so I guess it won't really matter.'
At that moment, Lefiya caught a glance that the person she was looking was approaching her or to be exact in their direction.
It didn't took long for him to stand in front of her. Lefiya was sitting beside Finn and Revira. Upon peering upwards, her eyes met with Alex.
His eyes with vertical pupils, and a crimson haired boy. He was young—there weren't any in her familia who were younger and— slim, his features lean and slender.
Lefiya couldn't help but wonder if their ages weren't so different. The boy on the other hand, standing in front of the presence of Finn, Riveria, a dwarven warrior that has brown eyes and long brown hair along with facial hair of the same color that is long enough to form a beard and her, politely smiled.
"Nice to meet you, elites of the Loki Familia. Bell might have said this already but I want to thanked you for the hospitality."
"It's nothing much, young lad."
The dwarf, Gareth said on the side. Finn and Riveria also said something similar to Gareth that they didn't mind at all and welcomed him. Seeing their response, Alex thought that it would be better if he introduced himself.
"By the way, I'm Alex Uchiha from the Kronos Familia. A rookie adventurer."
Alex spoke while choosing some appropriate and polite words.
"Then, I'm Gareth." Replied Gareth with a chuckle.
"I'm Riveria Ljos Alf and the Vice Captain of the Loki Familia." She replied with a smile in her beautiful face. Finn didn't said anything as his identity was already given and Alex was already aware of it.
"Lefiya, you're not gonna introduce yourself to this young man?" Riveria's voice snapped out Lefiya out of her daze.
"Ah, I'm sorry Lady Riveria." Facing Alex, she then introduced herself with courtesy.
"Lefiya Viridis...pleasure to meet you."
Hearing her, Alex reached his hand toward her for a simple hand shake.
"The pleasure is mine...? Ah—!"
But then his outstretched hand suddenly stopped. Reflected in those crimson eyes of his were the pointy, twitching ears of an elf. Prideful elves loathed skin-to-skin touch to someone they didn't approve of. While this didn't hold true for their entire race, the number of elves who couldn't get over their discomfort was considerable.
As though he was just reminded about it, Alex hesitated. Unsure whether or not to retract his hand.
All Lefiya could do was sigh. She could see in his face how distraught he was. Not wanting to be misunderstood due to the habits of the elves, she took his hand herself.
He was surprised, not expecting that she would allow him to touch her who was a stranger. Seeing that she was nice and kind, Alex took a liking to her and added a little joke as he was feeling awkward as he didn't know what to say.
"I love you. I fell for you the moment I first laid my eyes on you."
"Huh!~?"
Her eyes widened and a blush appeared in her face. She didn't expect to hear a sudden confession from a guy who she had just met. Unable to handle the shock, a steam appeared above her head.
"Ah, youth."
Gareth said with a thin smile.
"Actually, I'm just kidding."
Having zero flirting skills, he might have overdid it. Alex immediately tried to clear it up or else it might lead to a misunderstanding. Letting go of the hands of the cute flustered elf, Alex decided to state his purpose.
"I'm sorry for what I had said but in truth, I'm here to request something to Captain Finn."
Hearing him, Lefiya immediately looked at the side, playing with her hair, trying to hide the blush on her pretty face.
"There are several things I would like to ask about you...Can I call you Alex~kun? Or do you prefer to be called by your family name or alias if you have?" Asked Finn in a polite tone.
"Call me Alex, sir-Finn. There is no need to be overly polite to a rookie adventurer like me."
"That's great, once again. I welcome you in our humble camp. So state what's your purpose in mind." Finn said as he put the glass in his hand to his side.
"Chances like this doesn't always come so, can I make a request a spar with the first class adventurers of the Loki Familia?"
Finn, Riveria, Gareth and Lefiya became silent after hearing his request. Looking at his figure, they didn't expected that he would request a spar. No, with their familia's prestige, it wasn't totally impossible.
"You said that you're a new adventures so....How long had it's been since since you had been an adventurer, Alex~kun?"
Finn asked as he held his chin pondering whether he would accept his request. He was aware that Alex and his companions had just risked their lives to reach here so he could understand the desire to be stronger.
"3 weeks."
"I see."
"What?—Seriously? Just in 3 weeks and you've already reached here, the 18th floor?"
The Finn who was always composed, surprisingly exclaimed in disbelief. His voice was loud enough to catch the attention of everyone.
They then began to murmur to themselves about what had made their captain and executives to be this surprised. However to those who heard Alex, showed the same level of disbelief.
"Are you saying the truth young lad?"
Gareth said as he narrowed his eyes. Riveria was also surprised but she retrained herself as she let Finn handle this matter. Based on their experiences, adventurers who was still that new should be in the 1st to the 4th floor, not the 18th floor where the monsters were not something a rookie could easily deal.
In less than 2 weeks since their expedition, a rookie who was only an adventurer for 3 weeks had already gone beyond the tenth floor and reached the 18th floor.
It was unbelievable. A speed that was enough to doubt their ears.
"Of course. I don't see any merit in lying to you guys."
Although their party wasn't originally planning to reach this safety point, it was still a remarkable achievement. Lefiya couldn't stop opening her jaws and saw Alex in a new light.
Lefiya fultered. Finn's words earlier immediately came into her mind.
"Then that explains why Ottar had acknowledged you."
Finn immediately recovered his composure. He stared at Alex and found that agreeing with his request might be worth the try.
"You asked for a spar, right? We can have that after everyone finishes their meals." Finn said with an expectant smile.

In an open area of Rivira, Alex was now facing an amazon with medium length black hair and dark green eyes. Like all Amazonesses, she wears revealing clothing, wearing only a Tube top that only covers around her chest and a pareo around her waist, and was in her barefoot.
She was Tiona Hiryute, a first class adventurer and an executive member of the Loki Familia. She is the younger twin of the Hiryute Sisters of the familia.
"Well, Captain said that I should spar with you so, do your best Alex~kun."
Tiona said eagearly with an overly energetic manner. The two of them were surrounded by people as they were filled with curiosity.
"Captain exclaimed earlier that he was only an adventurer for three weeks."
"Is it really true?"
"Reaching Rivira in that short amount of time..."
Murmurs of the people could be heard and Alex had a helpless expression. He didn't think that his small request would create this kind of commotion making him the center of attraction which happened to Bell before they had their meals.
"What about your gear?" Tiona said as she pointed at him. Alex smiled, understanding what she was concerned about.
"I'm against a first class adventure so it would only be natural if I'll give my best." Alex firmly replied as he gripped an Assassin's Decree and Splitting Edge in his hands.
"Those were going to break you know..."
"..."
'Don't tell you're planning to spar with your main weapon, right?'
Alex looked at Tonia as she pondered. She is definitely thinking about that.
"Well...I don't really know how to use any apart from my Urga...atleast not on the same level. But I guess it would be too much too use Urga."
"..."
"Well I guess this is good enough. Although it's overly light." She said as she swung a super large and thick claymore creating loud air cutting sounds.
"Don't worry, I will control my strength to that when I was a level 2." She said with a smile.
"Okay." Alex said as he gripped his weapons with immense focus and was prepared with a few unavoidable bruises.
