Chapter 2: Rebirth

----Lex pov----

After being engulfed in a blinding light, I found myself transported to an unknown location. It was dark, and exhaustion overcame me, leading me to fall into a deep slumber.

When I woke up, the light hurt my eyes. Squinting, I gradually adjusted my vision and saw a beautiful blonde woman lying on a bed, covered in sweat. Across from her stood a maid holding another baby in her arms.

My gaze shifted, and I noticed a man holding me with tears streaming down his face. As I stared at him, he gave me a warm smile and hugged me tightly. After a moment, he passed me to the blonde woman.

With a loving expression, she kissed my forehead and embraced me, providing a sense of warmth and comfort that lulled me back to sleep.

The man was named Paul, the woman Zenith – they were my parents. The maid, Lilia, cradled my twin brother, Rudeus, in her arms. My new name was Adam.

[Time Skip]

Six months had passed since my rebirth, and I had spent most of that time sleeping. As a baby, my body grew tired easily. Now, I had just woken up once again.

Glancing around the room, I couldn't find my parents. However, I noticed a boy sleeping next to me. He had brown hair and a mole beneath his left eye, accompanied by a mischievous smile. Shaking my head, I returned to sleep.

[Time Skip]

It had been two years since my arrival in this world, and I must say, it was far more beautiful and enjoyable than my previous life. While lacking in technological advancements, the presence of magic and the breathtaking scenery compensated for it.

The vast garden in front of our house, the captivating views from the windows, the endless wheat farms, and the gentle winds that caressed the land were all experiences I could never have enjoyed in my past life.

Moreover, in this new life, I had parents and a sibling. In my previous life, I was an only child, and my parents had tragically died in a car accident when I was just five years old. Left alone, my remaining family abandoned me, sending me to an orphanage. However, that orphanage was no ordinary place; it served as a recruitment ground for underground organizations, training children from a young age to become their loyal pawns.

Hence, this life was a significant improvement for me. I resided in a peaceful and loving environment, surrounded by two caring parents, an eccentric brother, and a maid who tended to my every need. What more could a child ask for?

As I concluded my thoughts, footsteps approached my room. "Brother, Mother is calling us for dinner," Rudeus informed me from behind.

"Coming," I replied, making my way downstairs to the dining table.

Upon reaching the ground floor, I heard my mother's voice beckoning me from the kitchen. "Adam, Rudy, come and take your seats. Dinner is ready."

"Okay," we both replied, settling down at the table. Within moments, our mother and Lilia brought the dishes from the kitchen and placed them before us.

Meanwhile, our father returned home from his job as a village knight, covered in monster blood. It was a rare occurrence, and my mother expressed concern. "What happened, honey? Was there a monster attack in the village?"

"Yes, but it was nothing I couldn't handle," my father reassured her.

"I will prepare a bath for you immediately, Master," Lilia offered, heading towards the stove to heat the water. Although we didn't have a proper bathtub, we had a designated space for cleansing ourselves.

"Please do," my father responded.

"I will help you wash," my mother volunteered.

"Of course, honey," my father replied with a mischievous smile.

Blushing, my mother hurried back to the kitchen. I looked at my brother, who shared the same grin as our father. Understanding his intentions, I placed a hand on his shoulder and locked eyes with him. With a smile, I spoke, "Perhaps you should finish your food first, brother."

Caught off guard by my gaze, he averted his eyes and sat back down. We continued our meal in peace.

It took nearly two hours for our parents to emerge from the bath, their faces flustered. I couldn't help but smile as I posed a simple question, "It took you two hours to take a bath. I suppose father was really dirty in there?" Both of them flinched, while my brother chuckled in the corner. Lilia wore an unreadable expression.

"Ah... hahaha... it was challenging to remove the monster blood from our bodies," my mother stammered.

"Yes, what your mother said, it was quite difficult," my father added, equally flustered.

"In that case, father, I suggest you be more careful next time," Rudeus remarked.

Afterward, both mother and father, still blushing, joined us to finish their meal. As dinner concluded, it was time to sleep. Before bedtime, our parents read us a storybook about three heroes who defeated an evil demon god.

That night, I had a peaceful and restful sleep.
