Quirk is a term used to refer to the superpower in the world of my Hero academy. Some of these superpowers are unique and some of them are passed down through generations. These quirks can be completely useless or completely overpowered.
The first quirk was manifested by a newborn baby in China later it started manifesting throughout the world. Most kids will awaken it at the age of 4.
While the cause of this phenomenon is unknown, it has been theorized that it was caused by the spread of a previously unknown virus carried by mice, although this theory had no hard evidence.
When more and more people started developing quirks the people with more powerful quirks started using their abilities for or there benefit, some even committed serious crimes and the laws of society couldn't stop them this caused the society to fall apart. Then some people started fighting back against these criminals by becoming vigilantes it led the criminals who used quirks to commit crimes started to be known as villains.
Among these villains, one villain appeared who had the power to take and give those quirks to others he called himself All for one. He created a small Army of his followers they did whatever he wanted. This Army became even more powerful when some of the quirks started merging and becoming even more powerful. Then he found a quirk that gave him eternal youth.
All for one had a brother who didn't have any power. So he give him a quirk that stored power over time and would make him stronger but what no one knew what's that his brother had a quirk that allowed him to give his quirk to others and these two quirks merge to form a quirk which All for one feared the most since it became a quick which became stronger when it was passed down through generations and became one of the most powerful quirk and All for one couldn't steal it.
When the quirk related crimes increased the government throughout the world issued Hero licenses to the vigilantes so that they can work with the police force to stop crime. Heroes are Police officers in costume who are allowed to use their quirks then the governments started placing restrictions on the usage of quirks.
Currently, roughly 80% half the population of the world has a quirk, and the 20% who don't have a quirk came to be known as quirkless. This number is declining rapidly. Quirks are seen as the next evolution of humanity and the people who don't have a quirk are looked down upon as the people who failed to evolve.
Quirks are divided into three they are Mutant type, Emission type, and Transformation type Quirks.
Mutant Quirks are Quirks that give you unchangeable bodies. But this type of Quirk isn't very common.
Transformation Quirks are the kinds of Quirks that temporarily change your body while you use that Quirk. These are most likely the rarest type of quirk.
Emission type quirks such as controlling fire, ice, air, land/dirt/ground, water, and electricity. These are the most common types of quirks.
