Say it's my cake. Say it's me driving you around town tonight. Say it's me being nice to you because I'm strangely feeling fucking softy wanting to be validated right now.

She presses her lips into a thin line and hums as she thinks. "Hmmm… I only got one from my mom and Heather—oh! And from you—er, I mean The Manor." She laughs. "Don't laugh at me, but I actually have a sweet tooth. So all the cakes and sweet stuff I got today are very much appreciated."

"Really?" It doesn't go unnoticed that she doesn't mention her boyfriend in that list. That guy must be a prick if he hasn't even given her something—anything. The thought makes me angry for no reason.
