Chapter 2: Kissa

"Since you know it doesn't, you know it isn't that easy to get." He rolled his eyes. "Besides, I don't even know you…"

"What? I just asked you if you have money." The veiled lady frowned and the guy shook his head. He dipped his hands into the small sack round his waist and gave the stall owner some money before picking the dagger.

"Do you even know how to use the dagger?" He asked her and as he expected, she shook her head in a negative answer. He hissed before tossing the dagger at her.

Gladly, she caught it before it could cut its way through her clothes. "Thank you." She beamed as she looked at the inscriptions on the dagger blade.

The guy turned to leave but she stopped him. "What's your name?" She questioned but he didn't reply, he just walked away.

The veiled lady was shocked by his rude behavior but she half ran after him. "You didn't answer my question." She pouted behind her veil.

The guy didn't even look back at her, he kept on heading to a direction she didn't even know. "Hey…"

Before she could utter another word, he abruptly stopped in front of a hungry looking old woman and squatted before her. He removed a small loaf of bread from the same sack round his waist and gave it to her.

"Thank you very much young man." The hungry looking old woman thanked him as she quickly devoured the food with her.

The veiled lady looked down at the woman in confusion. She used to think there was no one like her in the village but she was wrong.

While she was busy thinking, the guy stood up already and was walking away. When she noticed this, she rushed after him again.

"You didn't answer me." She complained but as usual, he acted like she didn't even exist. "It's rude to ignore someone."

He stopped again to feed another old man and some children. "If you want me to reply to you, stop following me around." He finally said as he gave the last child a loaf of bread.

"And that way I won't be able to get anything you say." She replied in confusion. He looked up at her as he stood up from his squatting position.

The veiled lady was looking up at him while he was looking down at her because of the height difference. She reached around his shoulders making her look at both his shoulders.

"That means get lost. I've given you what you want." He spat out in a harsh tone but the person he was talking to wasn't paying attention to him again. She was looking around like a scared cat.

Before he said anything earlier, the veiled lady had heard warning bells in her head making her look around in fear.

She caught sight of some guards marching towards their direction. She subconsciously grabbed the guy's arms.

"What is it this time?" He facepalm as he asked her.

"Please don't let them see me. I'll be in serious trouble if they find me." She pleaded but the guy didn't even budge.

"Looks like you're an outlaw?" He raised his brow, asking rather than saying. "I'd love to hand you over to them for disturbing me but gladly we're both outlaws."

He grabbed her arms and pulled her towards an alley. They both walked hurriedly for a few minutes before he stopped. "Where are you staying?"

"The northern part of the kingdom." She replied and he grabbed a horse as they walked out of the alley and lifted her on it.

"I don't do horses but I can't use my usual ride because of you. The sacrifices I've made because of you." He hissed as he climbed behind her and started riding through shortcuts.

"I didn't beg for them." She folded her arms under her breasts making him stop the horse.

"Then get lost." He said harshly.

"You don't have to show that you're not pleased harshly. Thank you for your help then." She jumped down the horse and looked up at the tall building up ahead. "I'm at my destination already…"

He didn't let her complete her sentence before riding off, making dust rise but she was quick to cover her nose and mouth. "How…"

The bells in the tall building started ringing violently and sounds of gongs were sounding in the building, pulling her out of her complaining mode. She quickly rushed into the compound of the building. She mounted different rocks before walking to the back of the building where a small entrance that looks like no one hasn't used in a while stood.

The veiled lady quickly rushed into the building through the small passageway. She heard loud footsteps as she stepped out to the main passageway which was surprisingly empty.

Hurriedly removing the clothing she had on into the basket with her, she soon reached a golden door and she quickly pushed it open, rushing into the room.

She rushed towards the bathroom, dropping the basket with her in a corner, behind the large statue in the room.

Undressing quickly, she removed the veil over her head. Her black curly hair flowed down her shoulders, covering half of her naked breasts. She quickly stepped into the bathtub and swam to the other side of the water, pretending she was bathing.

The door gave way and she came out of the water alarmed, looking at the door.
