Chapter 6: 1.4. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach
Richard was in his office checking the company's income his assistant just gave him. He felt his blood boiling and banged his fist on the desk, red in anger.
"Fuck!"
How was that even possible? In only a few days, he lost half of his costumers and millions. It wasn't enough that he wasn't able to get Angel's creations, now there was that new company who blew up overnight. The worst is that their products are better and cheaper than his.
He needed that notebook.
Richard took his phone out and called his soon to be son-in-law.
"Yes?"
"Come to my office, now!"
He hung up, fuming.
Kevin didn't have to ask why he was angry, he already knew he had messed up. When he met Angel a week ago, he did as they planned and acted as if he wanted to apologise and get back together.
At the beginning, he seemed willing to but as soon as he mentioned the notebook, he started to cry, saying that he didn't really wanted to be with him and that he only wanted to use him like everybody else. Before he could refute, Angel ran away and is refusing to answer his calls since.
He went to Richard's office, reluctant.
When he opened the door, a stapler flew to his head and he avoided it at the last moment.
"You incompetent bastard! Because you can't convince a fool like Angel, my company is loosing money!"
Kevin took the paper Richard was handing to him and read with a frown. That's bad. He thought that by marrying the heir of Lawson & Co, he would be in charge of the company but what's the point of that if it's not the second wealthiest company anymore?
He broke up with Angel because Richard promised him that Charlie would inherit it instead of Angel and he would let him the director's seat. But now, he didn't have reasons to stay with Charlie.
Maybe he could even go back with Angel. At least, unlike Charlie, he was really attracted to him. Moreover, that asshole Amory helped him when he isn't the kind of person to help anybody. That means he cares about Angel, so he could use him to hurt his brother. He'll play along with Richard for now, and do as he please later.
Kevin sat in front of the desk.
"Then what do you want me to do?"
"Convince him to meet you and seduce him. We all know he can't refuse you once he feels your touch. He's way too desperate to be loved. Film yourselves when you're at the hotel and send me the tape. I'll take care of the rest."
If he refused to give his creations to Kevin, the man he loves, he'll just have to force him to by threatening him. Having his sex tape on the internet is his worst nightmare and he'll immediately give him his notebook —he knows how much Angel is shy and prudish.
Kevin smiled inwardly. If he can fuck Angel, he'll do it. He'll just have to pretend he didn't know about Richard's plan and comfort him in bed afterwards.
I felt like throwing up. Just the thought of his hands on me made me nauseous and gave me shivers all over my body. I had to take a shower to clear my head.
When I came out of the bathroom, I jumped in surprise and fell on the ground. Amory was sitting at the table waiting for me with a lot of food. How is that possible? I made sure that the system would warn me if someone entered my room so why did I not receive any notification?
My mind was swirling in thoughts until a bundle of clothes crashed on my face.
"As much as I like the sight right now, I think you should wear something."
I felt my face heat up as I realised the position I was in with only a towel around my waist. I hurriedly put on the clothes, trying hard to hide my reddened face.
"Damn, why do you never call before coming?"
Since the beginning of the week, he would show up at any time of the day to bring me food. What's the most surprising is that he knows exactly what I like. I hate that —it makes me feel like he cares about me and my lonely heart can't stand it.
"Don't you have work to do? Why are you always bordering me?"
He chuckled at my embarrassed self.
"If I didn't you would starve to death. You forget to eat when you work."
"That's not true. I do eat so I don't need you."
"Chocolate isn't a proper meal."
I felt like slapping him. I know he's right but I was too busy with the production of my new products that I forgot. It's rare though, I'm literally a stomach on legs. I love food so much that I could spend days and nights eating. I'm lucky I can eat as much as I like without putting weight on.
As I was thinking about food, I started to salivate. Amory smiled.
"Shall we eat? I brought ramens."
Ramen… I nodded eagerly. I sat at the table and unwrapped the food. The smell spread across the room and my belly rumbled. I didn't realise how hungry I was.
As I was eating, I took out my phone and unblocked Kevin. As soon as it was done, a call appeared on the screen. I picked up and put it on speaker, notifying Amory to stay silent with a finger on my mouth.
"Hello?"
"How are you Angel? I haven't been able to contact you in a week."
"I'm sorry, I was a bit sick. What can I do for you."
"Can we meet again. I want to make it up to you for what happened last time."
I glanced at Amory who was raising one of his eyebrows and tilting his head in wonder. I smirked in amusement.
"Of course. What about tomorrow night? Same place as last time."
"Good. See you tomorrow."
I hung up and sneered. I can't wait to get ride of this parasite. He believes the original was with him because he loves him when the truth is he was just scared of him. You can't be in love with someone who abuses you and humiliates you.
Amory was frowning.
"Why would you accept to meet him? What if he tries to hurt you again?"
Damn it. Stop pretending to care about me, to be kind to me. It only makes me hope you want more than just sex and I'll end up heart broken like always. I can't let myself be swayed like that. I glared at him.
"What do you even care?"
Before he could answer, I got up and walked to the door.
"I need to go somewhere, see you."
I slammed the door behind me and ran out of the hotel.
