Chapter 111: You can do it

Seeing that everyone received the reports, Airon began to present the general information on the content of each of the reports.

"During my time out of prison, I discovered knowledge and weaknesses outside our community today. First of all, the first book contains useful information and verified knowledge by me about walkers - how do they work, how do they act, types of walkers and the easiest way to survive them?"

"It may be unbelievable, but with knowledge and skills, people can even attract a gigantic horde of walkers to destroy a shelter. Can you imagine a horde of a small number of thirty thousand walkers?"

"Each and every report is strictly related to survival and progress to be taken into account. Including, crop production, basic tools to eliminate walkers, manufacture of these same basic tools, and the manufacture of ammunition."

"Considering that our defenses are strong, there are numerous people with skills to defend the base at this location, everyone might think it is not necessary to learn how to eliminate a walker. However, considering the possibility of an internal infection breaking out, everyone should at least consider knowing how to use a weapon, move with a knife, or the simplest task of personal protection."

"These are skills that everyone should master in the future. I was talking to Corporal Rayan about this, and my opinion is that some of the leaders in this community who feel they have enough skills to teach and lead some other aspects of growth might consider taking a group of people and start with the apprenticeship plans in the reports."

After talking about this, Airon turned to Nara and said, "Nara, considering that progress on a vaccine has stalled, I plan to ask Candace and some of the researchers with first aid skills to do general training. This way, everyone will know what to do when they get shot, have a fracture, or help another in such trouble."

Nara nodded as she heard this. In fact she had thought that although there are many doctors at the base, the continuous growth of survivors will end up suffocating the work of those few doctors there are, so it is important that they have a little more help and with that stabilize the saturation.

So, instead of letting the researchers stay in the lab all the time, it is better for them to take some time and relax. Being teachers and teaching people is also a kind of tranquilizer for them to get rid of stress.

"Airon, why did you write all these reports now, isn't it better to teach them personally?" Rick sighed as he looked at the report sheets, not only did he regret that right now he can't be focused on everything due to his wife's pregnancy, and he didn't want to imagine all the work Airon has been doing all this time.

Hearing this, Airon let out a sigh and said, "No big deal, this knowledge shouldn't be reserved for myself, everyone should know about this. As for why I'm handing all that over to you, that's also something I wanted to talk about today. Once again, I will be out of this place indefinitely."

"What?"

"Why?"

Airon's words aroused everyone's attention, causing everyone in the room to look directly at him in disbelief, as if they still didn't quite understand his words.

Thinking about it to this point, Airon is also a bit tired of leaving this place too often. He also knew that no one would understand his thoughts. If he didn't remember anything about the future of this world, he would have very possibly chosen to stay in this place. But if he put his mind to the situation he faced in the future, there were many forces on the board that could cause him problems.

The Governor was eliminated, but there are still anomalies such as the Wolf Clan, the Whisperers as well as the larger organizations that will present themselves in the future such as he Commonwealth and the mysterious CRM that roams the corners of this country at least some time down the road.

Airon did not know the size of some organizations in the future, but considering a small sum they were no less than fifty thousand or even hundreds of thousands, this number itself was frightening.

This is equivalent to the modern society when other survivors are still struggling to survive in the primitive society! Although the ideological gap is not large, the gap in strength is as different as heaven and earth.

In addition, Airon did not have much knowledge about whether there will be other similar communities, but he knew that if he wanted to be in control, he must be strong enough to face those communities in the future, that alone would give him confidence.

Even if he now has a small shelter in a secluded area of the city of Atlanta, the numbers possibly do not exceed two thousand even if all the survivor groups in the city were gathered.

Now from everyone's point of view, Airon seemed to be in deep thought and no one interfered with his silence, only Shane looked at Nara and asked quietly, "Did you know about this?"

Nara shook her head and replied, "No, I didn't know."

Just as everyone looked at each other in silence, Airon finally snapped out of his thoughts and then pointed out, "All in all, I will need to leave the prison for an indefinite period of time, remember that we haven't received any news from the outside world even if there is a base in the city of Atlanta."

"Even though the numbers at both bases are increasing, the news is still limited and not pleasant. We don't even know if there are military or survivor settlements in the vicinity. I think it's necessary to go on trips and even explore far away places more often in the future."

Shane shook his head and then looked at Airon with a puzzled expression, "I just don't get it, we have food, weapons, people, helicopters and even tanks, but you're saying you'll take risks outside? I just think you're better off staying in this place."

Airon nodded, expressing his understanding of Shane's point of view, but changed the subject and said, "Shane, I can't deny you're right, but have you considered this situation in the future? To live in tranquility, we could do it for one to ten years, but eventually we will encounter survivors in greater numbers than ours and if the other side is hostile towards us, what should we do?"

Shane opened his mouth but didn't know what to answer when he heard those words, but again he heard Airon point out, "If we want a better future, 5,000, 100,000 or even a million people and with that we could take back a city like the Atlanta group is doing now."

"Let me ask you a question, do you want to farm in this place for life? Think about the next generation, after they are born, they will only be able to live by farming and blacksmithing. Rick, are you willing for Carl to live such a closed life, what about you Morgan? No, even so, maybe a group of assassins will show up and eliminate us in an oversight, is that what they want?"

After hearing Airon's questions, everyone was silent, this was something they had never considered.

Daryl's expression did not change, he stopped playing with the hand crossbow and said quietly, "Airon, if you go out, take me with you. I don't like life here. I still want to go out and learn more things outside for a while."

Merle looked at his younger brother and said with a pursed mouth, "Count me in, it's still a rich thrill to go out!"

Airon shook his head and pointed, "Listen, there is nothing to worry about, I won't leave right away, at least I will stay in this place until Lori and Rick's baby is born, Tomorrow I will gather everyone and give them an explain the situation, if anyone wants to follow me they can come with me but the number won't be too big."

"Count me in!"

"Me too!"

After saying that, the Dixon brothers got up and left the room, while the rest remained silent.

Rick sat down across from Airon and said, "Airon, I understand what you mean, but I can't leave now, my wife and kids need me, give me another year, when that time comes, no matter where you are, I'll come to support you."

Patting Rick on the shoulder, Airon smiled and said, "You don't have to feel sorry, I had no intention of letting you leave this place. After I leave, this place will need a new leader and you are the most suitable candidate, Shane and Sam are suitable to go to Atlanta if they want to of course."

Rick quickly waved his hands as he shook his head and said, "What can I do, everyone agrees with you, but no one is thinking of following me!"

"You underestimate your own influence. Not everyone is blind - they all think you're a brave and upright person!"

"If it's Rick, I agree!"

"Me too!"

Shane looked at Airon and said, "Airon, I'd have to think about that..."

"Nothing to worry about."

Seeing that Aiorn had decided to go, Shane and Morgan stopped persuading him and expressed their support for Rick to run this place while Sam was gone.

The rest were also very optimistic about Rick and expressed their support for Rick leading the community.

Rick clenched his fists in silence. From this moment on, he felt an invisible pressure, as if the fate of four hundred people was on his shoulders. He looked at Airon earnestly, right now thinking that he would do everything he could to keep this place safe.

"I will do everything I can to protect this family, I promise!"
