Chapter 153: What is to be done

Prison in western Georgia

After a long time, the prison was completely silent and only thousands of corpses could be seen on the ground. The smell of gunpowder and numerous people were walking around with spears to eliminate the remaining walkers.

Everyone had worked hard to eliminate this horde that attacked the prison, it was very intense but in the end they succeeded without losing the crops. Now the question on everyone's mind, how will they clean up this place?

"Finally they are done, now we have to clean up the corpses to avoid any infection." Morgan said as sweat trickled down his forehead.

Right now, the hands of all the people whether soldiers or survivors were shaking with an indescribable feeling. Today, everyone has seen that no matter if they have a hundred thousand bullets and numerous tanks, if a large horde of walkers is heading towards the base it is hard to escape.

Thinking about this, Rick sighed in relief and said, "Yes, even though there were thousands we were able to defend ourselves well and there was no need for the Apache helicopters to be used."

Saying this, Rick was still looking at the open field littered with walker corpses, he still couldn't imagine that his group could take out such a large horde, and although he had more or less guessed the strength possessed by the prison, he must not let his guard down.

"We need to lead the cleanup with the trucks and focus on building the wall in front of the prison as soon as possible."

"I'll handle it."

After Rick finished speaking, he held his head tensely and imagined the times he questioned Airon about the exaggerated amount of weapons and ammunition on the base. Now, he could only be thankful that he could be one of the lucky ones to have the weapons in their shelter.

He then asked Mike to organize the soldiers to start clearing out the walkers that hadn't been eliminated in the surrounding area, securing things for the cleanup crew.

Standing on the wall, Rick watched as everyone moved back and forth. Constantly thinking if it was right to have spent so much ammunition on this large scale elimination of walkers. Since he had been thinking about the danger posed by people, he was now much more careful about it.

"What are you thinking about so much buddy?"

Hearing that question, Rick turned his head and looked at his best friend Shane, who had personally flown in by helicopter to support the base. Since leaving the prison, just like him, Shane had been working hard to protect other people and be ready to take out whoever his enemies were.

"It was fortuitous to have you back Shane!"

Forming a big smile full of sincerity, Rick walked over to Shane after a few seconds of silence, it was always comforting to look at his friend and have him on the mend.

Shane hugged his friend Rick and after greeting each other they both parted ways, now they were both leading a group and actively participating in improving the situation for the future, something they clearly both never thought about.

"It was inevitable this battle, how are the resources at the base? We have recently found some weapons factories where ammunition can also be created."

Slowly looking away from the front, Shane looked at Rick, who was standing to the side, and asked him the status of the ammunition in the prison. In this war, numerous rounds of all calibers had been expended and that was one in large quantities.

"We're not as bad off as it looks, long before it all started, Airon prepared very well for this kind of situation."

Rick smiled slightly, right now you could see nostalgic expressions from this duo of friends, they had both been through a lot since it all started.

"You know I'll be eternally grateful to you, Shane..."

Shane looked away from Rick, his eyes glanced at his friend and then smiled slightly, if anyone they should be thankful for it was Arion, who made it possible for them all to get to this point. Still, he could only say to her, "Yeah dude, you owe me your life..."

"Hahaha."

Knowing the situation in the surrounding area, they both started to move and Rick took Shane to participate in the meeting where it would be explained what they should do at the last minute.

On the way to groups picking up shell casings from the ground, many could be reused if this item was carefully worked on.

It was already late when things began to settle in the prison, everyone except for the children and elders began to work on cleaning the battlefield and leaving everything ready for tomorrow to begin to raise the wall according to the instructions.

In these moments, a bright smile could be seen on the faces of many soldiers who had only lost against the walkers. Many of those now in prison had lost their family, friends, siblings, parents, wife and children... Everyone to this day has lost a lot, but after all those losses came the first victory.

On top of a tower, a black flag of the S.C.T. community. The first community that has shown how little they have achieved so far and the potential of what they can achieve in the future.

...

On the south side of the prison in western Georgia.

On the streets of an abandoned town, countless walkers were restless and wandering aimlessly due to the sound of explosions and gunfire heard everywhere. The numbers of walkers were extremely dense, covering all the streets.

Needless to say, if and when a human appeared in this place, the walkers would immediately approach those figures and try to destroy them.

"Shhhhhh!"

At that moment, two sharp arrows were shot from a dark crossing at the edge of the street, and struck the heads of the two wandering walkers with great precision.

Immediately after, a group of figures emerged and ran off, as they passed the dead bodies of the walkers on the ground, that figure who had used the bow pulled out the arrows stuck in their heads and helped the others climb a wall to a nearby house.

The sun was shining on the figure, showing the appearance and figure of the other party. She was a young woman of at least about twenty-two, with a longbow in her hand and a quiver on her back. At her waist, there was a pistol and she along with her group entered a house where they planned to take shelter.

There was a group that was formed by her, that group had previously fled Woodbury and had stayed away for a long time from that area, but as they continued their journey they had gathered more people and it was impossible to continue without finding a safe place.

When the girl learned this, she thought it would be a good idea to see the situation near where their former community was, so with a group of six they set out to find out if there was still any place safe.

However, just as they were about to give up upon seeing Woodbury abandoned, a series of gunshots were heard which lasted for a long time. At that point, this group of survivors tried to approach the source of those gunshots but then got trapped because the walkers were restless.

After their group crossed over, so did the woman. This girl is obviously very familiar with the trail. She has been leading this group since they escaped from their previous shelter, so she was willing to do whatever it took to make sure no one got hurt.

After everyone crossed, some checked the house and upon discovering that no one was there, they sighed with relief. One man in the group said, "We didn't calculate that the walkers would move from all places, we must stay in this place for a while."

"We can't stay in this place for long, don't forget our objective."

The man shook his head, averted his gaze and looked at the leader of the group and asked, "Tara, what should we do?"

The young woman named Tara who was cleaning the blood stained arrows, raised her head and said, "We will move first thing tomorrow morning, if you think you can't keep up with me you can stay in this place and wait for me to return."
