Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Masked Lady

After splitting off from Merilyn, Kymani, and Lavenica continued to tread through the floor with relative ease, new using the bone great sword as his weapon, Kymani with his new form and strength was doing the best in battle he ever did.
Aside from the bone dagger goblins, and archer goblins, shaman goblins got added to the roster on the 6th floor, but that wasn't the one addition made on this floor, as now every few goblins killed something would drop, from parts of the goblins like teeth, fingers, ears, clothing, equipment, and the most important for Kymani, skill crystals.

Entering the next floor, they found a similar environment to before, but this time Kymani decided to stop to check on his status screen as he hasn't looked at it for a while now.

Having 10 skill crystals, Kymani selected all the skills and a new notification came up.

A wave of information and warmth came over Kymani dazing him for a while before his senses returned and he felt as if he had been training for a long time, even having slight dizziness and an odd feeling of being full like someone who had eaten quite a bit above their threshold.
'It's like having theoretical knowledge written directly into your muscle memory... It's weird, but somehow I feel like I'm not fully able to use this knowledge until I actually familiarize myself with it all.' Shaking off the feeling of dizziness, Kymani was surprised by the extent of the effects on how he felt.
Satisfied he was filled with energy and decided to try something, as he turned to a wall and then punched rather strongly, though short of full power, this attack was able to shatter the wall leaving a small crater around his fist there. Though as soon as he pulled his hand out, the walls began repairing themselves with no other effects on their surroundings.
Even though the crater itself was only slightly bigger than Kymani's high goblin hand, the cracks extended to the top and bottom of the walls.
"My body is stronger than I thought..." Kymani smiled seeing how effective it was as he was instead expecting to hurt himself a little bit.
"Master... While I'm happy you're enthusiastic, I would recommend you don't do something like that again... At least not while we are in a cave tunnel..." Lavenica pointed out while slightly shaking her head and narrowing her eyes.
"Hahaha, sorry, I got a bit too excited. It's just crazy to think that this is all happening and I can do all this... It seems it's truly possible for me to achieve my dumb otherwise impossible fantasies... Maybe it would be fairer to call it a dream." Kymani laughed it off as he smiled in a bit of an awkward way.
"... Master, what is your dream? Is it the same that you talked about before?" Lavenica got curious and asked.
"Well, kind of... To explain it, I would have to get into a story I would prefer telling you when we're back at the castle." Kymani replied.
"I understand, I shall ask again later then." Lavenica nodded not hurried to receive an answer.
After that, they moved on and continued to slaughter their way through goblins, killing 200 of them in total. Until they got to the warp pad leading to the 8th floor.

Nothing too different was to be found there, and they were met with a few adventurers here and there but nothing out of the ordinary as they continued exterminating goblins, 250 of them in total.
Eventually, they reached the warp pad and entered the 9th floor.

As soon as they got in, they were met with a scene that neither expected as they saw a young man on the ground and various corpses spread around, blood everywhere. The young man was backing away slowly using his elbows to pull himself away as his legs seemed to be broken while trying to converse with his pursuer as a shadow slowly approached.
"Please! Forgive me! I failed to see the error on my way, but I assure you that if you give me another chance, things will be different! I surely learned my lesson and would never dare to cause trouble again!" He spoke hurriedly and looked around frantically, not stopping as he pulled himself away heading toward the warp pad.
Seeing this Kymani and Lavenica looked at each other and.
{Master, I suggest hiding and waiting to see what's going on before we engage with any of this.} Lavenica suggested.
{I don't think that's a fair move, it would be a bit distasteful to just let this guy die.} Kymani had an awkward smile as he expressed.
{... I guess Master is a hero after all, but please exercise caution and don't try to do everything, I'm here precisely to help you, so let me do it.} Lavenica began rubbing her temple before shaking her head and then sighing, ultimately nodding her head with a defeated smile.
{You make a great point... I'm slowly turning into a battle junkie... Or maybe I was always one, just never got to discover that side of myself... Who knows and who cares? Let's do this, you can cover for me whenever you feel it's a good moment to attack or if you just want to protect me. What do you think?} Kymani asked.
{It works.} Lavenica replied with a weak smile before going back to being deadpan.
Having decided how they will go on, Kymani began moving closer to the man.
"Please! Please!! PLEASE!!! I beg of you! Just spare me! I have a family! You talk about your tribe a lot! I'm sure you'll understand why I did it! I swear that it was just a small slip up of the moment due to what us at stake! One CHANCE! That's all I need! So please don't make my daughter an orphan! I'll do anything to redeem myself!" The man yelled with tears in his eyes.
"Quiet, your words are pointless. You made your decision and crossed the line, so it's time to pay in blood. I don't care what your reasons or motivations are, all I care about is that you choose to be arrogant enough to try and pull something like this, and now those you hold dear will have to pay for it with you. Unfortunate, but such is the nature of our world. Just enjoy the seconds you have left and try to internalize this lesson so that in your next life, you don't end up the same way. May your soul be punished adequately once you die." A hoarse female voice resounded, as soon a green skinned lady clad in bone armor wearing a skull as a mask appeared with fierce orange blazing eyes.
At that moment Kymani instantly knew from his Improved <int. Battle Instincts.Lv H> that this woman was stronger than Iketica, and definitely dangerous, as he felt it in his body.
Stopping a bit behind the young man, Kymani met eyes with the lady.
"Oh, so you a goblin on your side? Isn't this your grand plan, cause let me tell you now that it won't work. You've been sentenced to death, and you will die. As simple as that." She remarked the moment she saw Kymani.
"Why do you want to kill this guy?" Kymani asked.
"Playing stupid? Oh please, at least make it interesting if you're going to try and fool me... Humm, now that I take a better look, you're oddly similar to Iketica, but he can't be here... So who are you? Some lost brother? Oh well, I'll bring him some extra good boar meat next time we meet, I'm sure he won't mind me killing you that much, even if you are somehow related." The masked woman was calm and didn't seem worried about Kymani or his presence at all, and more so seemed curious.
"That doesn't answer my question..." Kymani remarked.
"Oh... You really want to play the long game?... Well, luckily for you, I love telling stories, now sit and let me tell you about this one, I'll make it quick don't worry, after all, it would be a pity to let this guy die from blood loss rather than actually killing him." The masked woman pointed at a rock that was the right size to work as a seat, calmly talking to Kymani, if not a bit aloof.
'Is she serious?!... No, this is likely a trap, I need to keep my guard up, but let's not jump at this, and instead understand as much as I can and then go from there.' Kymani decided faced with the oddly calm masked lady.
