Chapter 56: Chapter - 56 ~ [ Intermission ] 2

On our fourth birthday, both me and Adam were taken out to a village near my home. I forgot to mention. I was named Amanda Aves Aldians while my twin older brother was named Adam Aves Aldians. The Aldians was a name given to my family by the king after my father became a Duke.
As a Duke, my father was given a vast land to govern. So as a present for our birthday, my parents and us siblings were going on an outing.

We were in a cart, wearing normal clothes instead of wealthy and glistening ones. Adam was in my sister's lap while I was in my mother's. Stopping the cart, I saw a large field full of green and trees. It seems to be an open space behind a village. There was a pond as well as a garden of flowers. It was very beautiful.
We enjoyed ourselves a lot. However, just like my previous life, something came to stop this happiness. My father was requested by the village chief to kill a monster that appeared near the village. As my mother was a powerful magician, my father left us under her protection. As we were enjoying it without worrying about anything, my mother who saw the village burning with fire and smoke, ran towards it without remembering our presence here.
As my mother ran, my older sister who was eating too much slept like a log, while Adam stared into the pond without saying anything. As I was bored, I decided to throw some rocks into the water.
After one rock was thrown, Adam said, "Stop Amanda. It will attract the monsters in the pond." I of course know he was smarter than me. However I wasn't going to believe his words. My father and mother left me without worry. That means they already know if it is safe or not. I ignored his warning and continued my throwing.
Adam stopped saying anything as he continued to stare at the pond. As I was going to mock him for saying something without evidence, my whole body felt paralysed as I saw something staring at me without blinking.
There were two eyes eyeing me from the water. Now I understood why he said there is something inside it. However it was too late. Even my sister, who is older than me can't defeat anything of its caliber. As I never read or learned about monsters, I wasn't knowledgeable enough to know what it was.
However it looked like a huge snake but with the body of a fish and the face of an unknown animal. It had long and thin canines and dull eyes. In an instant, I saw my vision slowing down as the monster aiming its giant maw at me. As I was about to try and ask for help, I saw something that made my heart break.
Adam suddenly appeared before me and pointed his arm at it. I wanted to stop him. However I saw his arm being bitten by the monster. Blood sprayed everywhere , but he wasn't crying. He locked emotionless. Seeing the blood I couldn't stop the urge to lose my consciousness....
(Am I going to allow fate to destroy those who are important to me again..? But I really don't have enough strength to stay awake... Forgive me Adam... )

Blinking open my eyes, I saw a familiar room. Suddenly an urge to run immediately took over my body. Running with all my strength, I stopped when I saw parents talking by themselves with a sad face.
Seeing this, My heart began to tighten as I was wishing for something I think never happened. I hurriedly walked towards them and asked, "Mother, where is Adam..!?"
Maybe knowing my desperation, my mother sighed before saying, "He's in his room. He must be asleep. Make sure you won't wake him up."
I ran without even saying anything. What I want now was to see him. I wanted to apologize to him if possible. I don't know if he will forgive me.
As I ran, I reached a room. Without asking for permission, I opened the door and saw Adam lying on the bed with a smile on his face. Walking towards him, I sat near him. He was really asleep. When I checked his arm, I was shocked to see that it was fine. However that was normal since my mother could heal him, unless his hand was torn apart.
Touching his hand with my own, I saw his eyes flicking. Feeling guilty, I tried to go away. However I was stopped by his hand tightly grasping mine. Turning towards his eyes, I still could see the same unyielding love just like from my birth. My eyes were filled with tears as I hugged him and asked in a soft voice,
"Why Adam? I... Please don't...."
I couldn't properly say anything. It was natural since I was only a four year old kid. I was really filled with emotions I am unaware of. I only wanted him to be safe now. However his words which were more mature than his age could match, made my eyes widen,
"Why are you crying Amanda..? You are my sister. My twin. You are my half life. If it's for you, I am ready to take over the entire world...."
Although he was saying this to make me happy, I couldn't prevent my face burning with embarrassment as I hid my face from his face. He was too cool just now! How did a four year old child learn to talk like that..?!
But, knowing he loves me very much, filled me with feelings of happiness! But he was distant because of my character, So I said,
"Call me Amy from now on, Addy. I am very happy knowing that you want to protect me. However I don't have anything to give you back..."
I wanted to give him something. However there was nothing I could give him. He even gave his life for me. I don't have anything that's worthy enough to give back. Then he said,
"I don't need anything. You being near me is enough. If anything, I want you to be happy."
I could feel his determination from those words. That second, I decided.
( What I can give him, is only myself. If he wants, I will give him the love of a sister or even a friend. If it's something he wants, I will give him the love of a woman as well. I don't think, there is another person who's strange enough to say that he wanted his sister to be near him forever. But if it's something you wish, I will make it true as well. For your love you are giving me, I will return it a hundred fold...! )
That night I decided to love him however he wanted. However, my decision changed as I found the depth of his love. After my first time of being near death, fate threw a lot of dice at me. However all that time, he was the one who protected me regardless of the danger included.
Even my parents were shocked to see him arguing with them for me going alone outside. He was like a knight protecting a princess.
After years together, my love for him grew. I noticed that he wasn't going to accept my love in any form other than being a sister. That was fine. However I was sure, that wasn't enough to say I paid the debt.

After being together till this time when I was almost 9 , I was the one who lost, as my heart wished him for now. After saving me again and again from dangers, my heart was full of him now. All I wished was to give myself to him. Later my budding love for him changed to that of romantic love.
I wanted him. I know that it's incest when blood related people are in relationship. However, I decided to let my older world rules go and let my own rules grow. When asked, my mother said it's normal for almost all the noble families. So if it's my desire and Adam's okay with it, she said we can marry. Now all I need is his acceptance. In fact I don't think he will reject me.
I am looking forward to the day of our marriage...Fufufufu....
