Chapter 1: Change of words, Change of heart.
The Fourth Hokage and his wife lived a very close life, they became genin around similar ages. Fought in the 3rd great war together, they got into a relationship, they took care of each other. They even got married and were on the way to having their own child, a son. They were going to name him Naruto, Namikaze Naruto. Their heir, their son.
Things don't always go as planned, and sometimes you do lose, The Hokage and his wife didn't lose this battle, lives maybe but not the battle.
The one who lost was their child, Namikaze Naruto hadn't seen the light of day and had lost both of his parents and was marked with a curse that would make sure he had a difficult life.
In one world, he grew up in a web of fake smiles and shenanigans but in this one, a single decision will change everything. Namikaze Minato changed his last words.

-Near the Point of sealing, Konoha. October 10, Year 68-
Hiruzen had never seen the young man lying in front of him so tired and defeated yet the smile on his face was something else, it shined brighter than the sun on 21 June. His face held happiness and pride.
"Lord third, take care of him and the village, Second. Take care of yourself, First. The village does not need the professor. The village begs for the God Of Shinobi to protect them. The darkness is not your ally, and neither are the devils, your ally is your love for the village. Protect it with your own 2 hands. Goodbye." He almost choked out the last few words. The darkness was Danzo, the devils were his advisors. He needed to grow a spine is what Minato meant.
The Third Hokage chuckled as he lifted his successor's body. He, the God Of Shinobi, The Bloody Ape of Konoha, was a spineless man. He would have actually laughed if it weren't so true. Retirement and peace had weakened him.
'Thank you young Minato, for you have once again saved the village and your legacy.' Thought Saurtobi. His eyes reflected the fire being put out in the village. Although his heart truly burned again, he felt his blood flow again, he felt his heartbeat. He felt alive again.
'The village begs for the God Of Shinobi to protect them' Minato's words echoed in his mind as he layed down the young Hokage's body.
He will see it through, he will lead his village back to its former glory and then some more.

-Council Room, Konoha. October 13, Year 68-
It had been 2 days since the attack, and all the clan heads and important leaders were summoned to the council room by the Third Hokage.
They all had seated down in their respective seats,
At the head of the table sat Sarutobi Hiruzen, Konoha no Sandaime Hokage.
To his left and right sat his two teammates turned advisors, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharo.
Sitting in the first seat on the left side Nara Shikaku, Jonin commander and Head of the Nara Clan.
Next to him sat Yamanaka Inoichi, Head of the Intel Division and Yamanaka Clan.
Next was Akimichi Choza, Head of the Akimichi Clan (One of the 4 Nobel clans.)
Next was Inuzuka Tsume, Head of the Inuzuka Clan.
Next was Yasobu Tatsuma, Head of R&D.
On the right side, the first seat was taken by Hyuga Hiashi, Head of the Hyuga clan (One of the 4 Nobel clans.)
Next to him was Uchiha Fugaku, Head of the Uchiha clan (One of the 4 Nobel clans.)
Next to him was Aburame Shibi, Head of the Aburame clan (One of the 4 Nobel clans.)
Next to him was Shiouto Akusa, Head Banker at KSB (Konoha State Bank.)
At the end of the table, directly opposite to Hiruzen was Shimura Danzo, "Ex" Leader of the now "banned" Shadow Anbu Division, Root.
There was a map on the table with pins that had each clan's mark engraved on it. The borders after reconstruction were probably the matter of discussion today if someone in the room had to guess.
"As we have to rebuild all the clan estates, we are going to assign the new borders now." Started Danzo, only to be stopped by Hiruzen.
"What new borders, we will be using the ones we already have. There is no need for new ones." Stated the Hokage.
"But, we think-" Danzo was cut off again, This time by a voice much stern from the same man.
"I think, I had already said what we were going to do. If you didn't understand, Danzo. Let me repeat, I order that we are going to reconstruct the village in the same pattern. Clear now?" Asked Sarutobi. Everyone paid more attention, not wanting to get on their leader's bad side. Even Shikaku stopped slouching.
"Crystal, My Lord." Said Danzo as he sat in his seat, clenching his jaw shut.
'Where did that come from?' Thought Danzo as he looked toward Homura and Koharu, their faces were colored with surprise.
" 'Sigh' Casualties, Give me the numbers verbally now and a complete written report by the end of today." Said Hiruzen.
Shikaku started off by stating his clan's losses.

The Hokage Office. October 13, Year 68.
After the meeting, Sarutobi quickly escaped to his office. He quietly locked the door and moved to the couch he had in his office. Next to it was a crib, which had a sleeping baby with puffy cheeks that had 3 whisker marks on each side. He had bright blonde hair that he knew would be messy and spiky much like another sun-kissed blonde he knew. He nudged the baby a bit, which lead to him waking up, the brightest set of baby blue eyes stared back at the aged leader.
"You would have been Namikaze Naruto but life thought otherwise, Welcome to the world, Uzumaki Naruto."
