Chapter 2: Life outside the palace and the danger that looms
Chapter 2
I could feel the cold breeze brushing my skin calmly as we walk by the stream that leads to the town.
"i will have to find Adrian myself or should ask the dye seller?" Princess Ann thought inwardly.
Princess Ann found all the market activities lovely as she almost forget herself before a farmer on his bicycle almost hit her,her guard ran to her but she told them to leave the man as she was the one with fault.
"Please do you know a boy name Adrian" princess Ann asked on getting to the dye seller.
"Where did he live,we have many boy name Adrian here princess" the seller answered
"He... Princess Ann look down in sadness as she was disappointed in herself,she only asked his name not where he lives"
"But I know a pretty boy name Adrian princess he lives outskirt the city he has a little. sister,the dye seller called out as the princess was about leaving" she could see the sadness in her face.
"Yes,that must be him he said he have a sister" princess couldn't hide her joy in front of her guard who are surprised by her actions.
"It will take u almost an hour princess even with your horses his father survive as a farmer living a quiet life, we heard that his father was once a Lord in the city but we don't know what happened as he just choose to live a humble life as a farmer" the dye seller explained.
"A lord? But why did he leave the palace, there must be a mystery behind it"the princess thought.
"I will leave my daughter with you to help you find the road" the dye seller said knowing the princess with her guard can't find the road themselves.
"Princess we must get to the palace back before evening else the king will be very mad at us" one of the guard said.
"Then you must help me out early to avoid us getting back late,one guard should stay with our loads until we get back" princess Ann ordered.
The guards can see that there is no how they can confuse the princess again,she has already made up her mind they just have to hurry to get back to the palace without them getting late.
"George you should stay with the load and make sure nothing got lose" the head guard order.
"Let's go now princess" he said facing the princess.
They got on the road as the dye woman leads them,they walk for half a minute before they almost left the town the bush got thicker and the breeze got colder as they walk the road, the princess start getting scared as they could see no houses again only bushes, she was about to give up when she sees a smoke coming out of the chimney a house very far in the Bush.
"I guess that must be the house" the princess asked the young girl.
"Yes princess we are almost there" she answered.
"Come here stark,you should take your food drug" Jude said to one of the pig as he is attending to the swine.
Jude attend to the swine in the evening while her brother did his round in the morning,it was a tedious work for him as he is not fond of pigs,his mother and sister are in the market attending to the family laundry business..
"Princess, where will we find him now I don't think anybody is at home right now"
"Send someone in to check for Adrian I'm not leaving here without him"princess Ann said bluntly.
The princess just said that she was really afraid of her father hearing from the house Mistress that she is not at home early from the market but at the same time she wants to meet the boy that has been her head since that day in the farm,Still her though when a boy came out of the house the smoke is coming out from the princess could tell instantly that it was Adrian as they smile as they glance each other,Adrian could not believe his eyes.
"Is this my princess or another person,no it is the princess,it his my princess" Adrian said joyfully as he ran towards the princess happily
One of the guard stop him from getting more near to the princess as it is his duty to protect the princess from harm. The story behind the overprotective act is extreme to princess Ann as a begged attacked her on her outing when she was a little girl she was very fond of people and doing charities but The beggar was sent by only God knows who,she was injured in her left arm since then the kind ordered the guards to be more protective to her in any of her outings.
"No let him pass he is my friend" the princess said instantly.
The boy stood shamefully as he knows it was because of his status.the princess walk up to him and raise his head up to match hers.
"Adrian its me,look at me I'm here to find you or are you not happy to see me? The guard are only trying to do there jobs I'm really sorry" the princess said trying to persuade Adrian.
Back at the palace princess princess angel is walking up and down the corridor thinking of excuses to give the house Mistress when she come asking why princess Ann is not back yet but she could not found any yet as she knew the maria is very smart and good with words too,there was a time when the two princess was young it was there first time they play late at the farm because of an intruder around there age princess Angel still remembered the little boys eyes when they got back to the palace she found out everything instantly without them taking like she have an eagle eyes,the princess fears her much in the palace.
"Should I try going out too to find her,oh I should have went with her" princess Angel said regretfully.
She went back to the window that open to the town to see if she will see them coming back home,she don't want any problem with there father again because he is very hard to deal with, she wonders what her sister is up too.
Back in the outskirt of the town,princess Ann was holding Adrian head trying to confuse him not to look down on her self as he looks pitifully.
"I'm okay princess the truth is very viable I understand" Adrian said facing the princess
The process could see that he is not happy but she has been very late at the same time.one of the maid walk up to princess Ann and remind her time is not by there side.
"Adrian I'm going back to the palace very soon they will soon be finding us,nobody is hone except yourself where is your sister"princess Ann asked curiously.
" My mom went to the market with my sister to monitor our store and my father went fishing with my brother its my turn to feed the swine today I would follow father out too" Adrian answered.
"I will love to see around your place but my time out the palace is far spent,I have to go now is there any shortcut to get to the palace" princess Ann asked.
"I know of a very dark road that leads directly to the palace it was use by our ancestors to take guest to the palace in their days" Adrain answered sharply.
"Lead us to the road please my guards will do the rest"princess Ann asked calmly.
Adrian takes the princess and her guard to the road,he don't want his father too to come back without him finishing his chores too so he have too get back in the middle of the dark road leading through the valley to the palace.
"I hope we can see again when we will be able to talk better but I'm happy I've know your place" princess Ann said sadly.
"My place is always open to you princess but it is nor easy to enter the palace" Adrian said facing the princess.
"Bye for now" princess Ann said facing the valley,trying not too show Adrian her sad place.
Adrain could not go back instantly he stood there watching them fading into the valley darkness.
"This is an impossible dream,I should give up early" Adrian murmured.
Back in the palace maria is kneeling in front of the king and Queen as she could not provide any excuses why there daughter is not back to the palace at this time.
"So you can't take care of our daughters, you are just enjoying our money with fulfilling your works" the queen asked angrily.
The quietness in the palace was so deep that even the breathings can be heard loudly, princess Angel just stood crying as she knows her parent won't let her off easily but it was there punishment they gave princess Ann but now they are blaming it on her and maria,she just pray Ann appeared and put end to all this,the palace gate open loudly that very minute maria let out a deep breathe thinking princess Ann is back but only an injured maid was seen running tirelessly into the palace.
