Chapter 2: What happened to Shujin?

He read the letter aloud...

'' Shujin, If you are reading this letter,

It means you are up to 16 and is pre-

paring or have already awakened.

I want the best for you Shujin, even

though I might not be alive when you

are reading this, I'm still with you.

Through this letter, I want to inform

you about something which the world

have little or no idea about... it's the

Artiste bloodline awakening. I've spent

my whole life finding about this type of

awakening, and found out it can turn

humanity's life around.

This type of awakening can't be awake-

ned through awakening stones. It's

instead, a system, invented by an Arti-

ste in the 15th century. During that

time, people regarded it as a taboo

because it was just too powerful. Only

him, the Artiste, could use it. It was

still undeveloped.

However, the system wasn't completed

because the Artiste was killed. His soul

transcended to the God's realm. He was

able to fully complete the system but

couldn't use it. He decided to wait till

he found a suitable mortal to give. He

does it once every two hundred years.

You might be wondering what the syst-

em does?... That I don't know. Only

those who awakened the bloodline

knows! I'm telling you this because

this is the generation in which the

Great Artiste would be rewarding a

talented mortal, the system! But you

will have to complete a test to have it.

Open the box! What you need is in it.

I was actually the one chosen by the

Artiste but I'm embarking on a journey

of no return... sigh... but if I don't re-

turn, you can have what's inside the box

since you are my direct blood. But, don't

forget, you must awaken your magic

first if you want this divine power from

the great Artiste! Awaken you magic

before opening the gift box!

Your loving Father. ''

Shujin who just read the letter felt tears pouring down his eyes. His father had left home one day when he was 6 years old. He had told him he was going for a mission to search for clues on something. He had said he would be back in a twinkle of an eye.

Days turned weeks, weeks turned months, months turned 10 years. Shujin's mother and him finally lost hope, assuming that he was dead... and they were right! The letter proves it.

'' Shujin, your father did this for you. He went through this so you'd be a great person in the future. He knows there's magic inside of you. All you need to do is awaken it! Take your time to study Shujin, attend the awakening ceremony and show the world who you really are! '' His mother encouraged.

Shujin sniffed. It was his fault his father died! His father knew he was going to die and he left his treasure for him to inherit it! Shujin felt guilty and sad. How could he possibly turn a blind eye to what his father has done? He was a hero in his heart and would do everything to make him proud.

'' Fine... mom... I'll study! I'll awaken my magic! I'll become great and make you and father proud. '' Shujin declared confidently.

'' That's the spirit Musuko! I'll leave you now to finish up the laundry. '' Mrs Hashimoto said and left.

For the first time since God-knows-when, Shujin finally opened his textbooks to study. He was studying magic. Day and night for the five days he'll be home, he was burning candles! His mother on the other hand was so happy that she felt tears rolling down her eyes when she saw Shujin. Aito on the other hand who always came to visit Shujin was so shocked that he turned mute.

' What has happened to Shujin? ' he always asked himself.

Five days at home was over and Shujin was back to his healthy self. He went to school that day with Aito, whose house was just 10 blocks away from theirs.

When they finally reached school, Aito couldn't bear his thoughts and spoke.

'' You've changed! '' He told Shujin.

'' How? Ain't I still handsome? '' Shujin raised his brows at him.

'' Not that! What came over you to make you start reading and preparing for our awakening? '' Aito asked seriously.

'' Is that bad? '' Shujin asked in return.

'' No it's not! It's pretty good in fact! But what made you change your attitude towards studying? ''

'' Well I thought of what you told me five days ago and so... yeah, I changed! '' Shujin said causually.

'' Just that? '' Aito narrowed his eyes at him.

'' Just that! '' Shujin nodded.

Aito sighed. He knew his friend well enough to tell that he wasn't ready to say what changed him.

The duo went to their class as they were both studying magic. Other students were either studying Blacksmiths or Martial spirits.

Shujin, sitting on his usual middle seat was listening to the the teacher intently as he spoke about the the different elements which were; Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind. This were the main elements as they could live independently. For example; Water can exist without land, Land without water, Water without wind, wind without earth or water, Earth without water , Fire without water, etc.

But this elements won't function well without co-existing. For water to flow evenly, there must be earth! For fire to spread, there must be wind, for wind to unleash it's full potential, there must be earth, and so on.

That doesn't mean there were no other elements, but they were the derivatives of these major elements! For example, the lightning element is derived from the wind element and water element. That is; Wind or air when cool can form ice crystals. Wind when warm has water droplets. When these droplets and crystals bump together, and move apart in the air, the rubbing makes static electrical charges in the clouds, producing lightning!

During the class, certain students were observing Shujin as it was the first time he was paying so much attention in class.

' He's changed! ' They thought
