Chapter 2: A New World

It seemed that his life in this world would be over.

Shuyun couldn't exactly say that he was disappointed, nor sad to leave his family behind. He did not find this feeling strange, either. It was just that, with what had all happened, he felt that his debt to his parents was over. In exchange for raising him, he had in turn gave his life's work so that they could be better off.

It was a sort of relief that Shuyun felt to finally be free from the mental and physical strain of long work hours. It tired him, that everyday, he would repeat the same process.

At his work, he even did overtime frequently. All so his parents could send his sister to university. And while others took holidays and weekends, Shuyun remained trapped within the towers of concrete and wire that was so familiar to him for ages.

But what was this about another chance?

Was it a god? Or his way of coping with his death at the last moments?

Another world? Now that had sounded absurd.

Had he really regretted his life that much?

Suddenly, a flash of bright white light took ahold of his vison.

"Are you awake?"

A soft voice spoke out to him.

Now, he was truly confused. Was he now hallucinating too? It must have been the anesthesia the doctors had given him, he surely must be in the Emergency Room currently. And while he doesn't remember his sister or mother possessing such a soft voice, it may have been a result of whatever injury the bullets had caused.

But as his vison slowly pieced together, a blurry figure entered his vison. Though her face wasn't clear, her crystalline, white colored hair flooded the front of her face. From this perspective, Shuyun realized he was lying down.

The girl stood watching the man lying down, puzzled at his awakened but seemingly unresponsive state.

Attempting to garner his attention, she lightly waved her hand in front of the mans faces.

Shuyun took note of this as he snapped out of his state of thought.

He looked towards the girl that had spoken to him. It was only then that he was able to clearly see her face. It was beautiful. Her white hair accentuated the features of her face, making it appear soft and adorable. Her eyes, green as the leaf attached to the leafs in a forest, perfectly reflected all which they gazed upon. The red color of her lips contrasted the pearly white face as they on their own possessed a luscious image that left all who saw them imagining.

She was truly beautiful, no doubt.

Though...

Why did she have pointed ears?
