Chapter 16: Confirming Events
Meiyings Mother, for the first time since Shuyun had met her, let out a heartedly laugh.
For her, it surprised the amount of worth such a short interaction with a human, held within Meiyings heart.
While she clearly understood the circumstances, being that Meiying was sort of locked away from frivolous interaction, maybe an encounter from someone that is not her served as a shock. And maybe, to hold on to such ties inevitably forged a connection between the two.
But regardless of Meiying's thoughts, and what she may know of him, she was not so easily convinced. It was learned, firsthand at that, through her many years of living that people were most definitely not what they are on the surface. She was not egotistic, but she knew the beauty that both she, and her daughter alike, possessed. It was so much that it was all but too common for any being of the male gendered to be attracted to such mortal goddesses as them.
As Meiying has had limited interaction, she was open to being easily taken advantage of. And while she may be smart, for a topic on the legitimacy of face, she had nothing to go off of.
But that made her really question.
That was because no one knew she had a child.
Royal Elves were able to create their own without the need of a male partner, which is why there hadn't been a King since her empire's founding.
Not only was it impossible for anybody to find out, because, although she may be weak compared to other queens, there were few that could press her very far. Nobody she could think of would have such an interest in that of royal elf reproduction, to dig deep in so far to be able to unravel the Ever Moving Forrest.
The forest could be said to be the Elvin races most guarded secret.
Not only was finding its location impossible, as it is one with the law of nature itself, but to enter forcefully would require the method unique only to the bloodline of royal elves.
That would mean that someone had to be stronger than the First Queen of the Elves in order to breach such a place, especially without her knowing. It would only leave the conclusion to the boy in front of her being the equivalent of a god.
But she was sure it had to be anything but that, as she had already studied the boys constitution, and he was just an ordinary human. It was also a wise inference to think that a being on such a level would ever find anything in this world interesting, and that even beauties such as themselves would have no meaning in front of its eyes.
So to play the fool? That was beyond them.
"The boy can't possibly give you a name, while you may think that as its your first time hearing such a word, with our heritage of over a million years, it has been known only nature can truly grant our names"
She walked up to her daughter as she caressed her cheeks with loving eyes.
"You already know our names are tied to our bond with the law of nature, a boy, a human, could not grant you such a connection"
She knew she may have brought down the happiness of her daughter. She too knew the feeling of yearn that the word 'name' possessed every time it was mentioned. Equally so, she had been through the same experiences her daughter had. But while the want for a name may only be under the happiness of her daughter, using a fake name could only be worded as the biggest disgrace to the royal lineage. It was something that, as much as she liked to see her daughter happy, she could not allow to continue.
But even with her mothers unwavering explanation, Meiying's expression had not a hint of hesitation.
"Its not true mother..."
She signed her in mind.
It seemed she had miscalculated foreign influence on her daughter.
"... I have felt the True Link"
