Chapter 21: Further Action

A Figure flashed into Reality.

Landing her two feet softly onto the pearl white floor, many gazes tracked her as she appeared. Immediately upon recognition, the various beings stood up from their chairs around the long table.

"Queen"

Melodious voices rang out in echo within the rooms high ceilings. The Queens face didn't show in change in response to their acknowledgements, her green eyes quickly resting upon each of the figures before looking towards the being at the end of the table.

"Xue, from this point until I say so, the realms gates will remain closed"

While many of them possessed confused thoughts, relating to the recent event that had happened mere minutes ago, paired with the Queen's instant summoning of the Elvin Race's head, they knew something grave had happened to provoke such a serious response from their Queen. Though the oddity within the sky had only happened for an instant, for beings of their level, the image was clear as day.

Though seeing as the Queen didn't go out and tell them herself, they knew better not to ask.

The Elf named Xue stood up.

Her motion was graceful, seeming as it happened in slow motion, but pertained enough urgency to clearly paint her true feelings that betrayed her calmness. Her white, slightly blue tinted hair that reached down to her small waist fluttered with her sudden rise. The uniform that she wore was bare. Besides the dark colored blue uniform itself, no other items were situated at any other part of her body. Compared to many others in the room, whose weapons adorn their waist, she seemed lacking in terms of visual authority, appearing as a doll meant only as candy for the eye. But with the unsaid reverence that all in the room had towards her within the surface of their eyes, it could be said to be anything but true.

As she rose, her light blue eyes met the queens before she bowed, her hair dropping down to cover her sides.

"It will be done" she suddenly voiced out, a calm, cold tone in response. The Queen did not take offense to her manner of speaking, seeming as it was only natural. She only nodded at the beauty.

Upon approval, her image suddenly flicked, leaving her seat within the room empty as the space contracted.

The Queen stared at the empty seat for a moment before her eyes once again focused on the rest seated in the room.

"All elves that previously held your suspicion, kill them" her cold voice rang out.

None of the faces of the elves changed, the many heads nodding in understanding. The Queen continued.

"We will not allow any elf of foreign power to leave with information of the transpired events. While the occurrences today and the significance held to our race is unknown to you, know that it is detrimental that we maintain this information within the walls of our realm"

She turned around, looking out the tall glass pane behind her.

"Do not restrict the functioning society, as we will not be able to have our realm closed forever, and such movements of the palace will only draw more unwanted attention towards what had happened today"

The dozens of pairs of eyes looked at each other, speaking only with expression, as if their eyes spoke all the words they did not. As all gained understanding from each other, they looked towards the queen, knowing their next move.

"Go"

The room suddenly became empty, each of the elves disappearing from their seats. The Queen remained staring out the window, still looking at the bright sky.

"For concealment to falter, even if but a moment, I can only imagine how much natural energy had been diverted from the Ever Moving forest."

Her eyes narrowed.

'For the Tree to take such actions suddenly... what is it thinking? Why has it now decided to do such a thing?'

She couldn't wrap around such a concept. The tree was like their living god of the elfin race. Though its existence was only known currently to Meiying and herself, it was the tree that allowed them to prosper for the past millions of years. It was also sentient, knowing itself what it was doing. Why? What was the reason for the selection of a queen or soon-to-be? And, why her daughter?

She knew she couldn't contain this information from going out, it was not her goal. What she needed was time, time to gather her thoughts, and time to better understand the Tree's motives. It was only time for her enemies to catch wind of what happened today, and she hopes her power alongside the Elvin race, would be strong enough to overcome what may happen in the future.

She will not let the Elvin race fall during her rule.
