Chapter 97: 97. Entering the tomb

[ Quest Part 1/2 ]

[ The king has been defeated and now the tower is left unprotected. Search the tower and discover what treasure it was trying to protect!]

The quest that Abraham received was a chained quest and only after going into the tower would it be updated. Looking around, Abraham saw that everyone else was fixing at him.

"I should train my control upon the dragon's aura. I did try to focus it only on the Liknorm but looked like the rest got caught." Abraham thought.

For them especially Robert who was fighting against the humanoid beast some minutes ago, everything looked confusing. When Robert lifted from the fallen walls, he was ready to engage against the raging beast but then he felt an intense pressure. For a second, he thought that the origin of the pressure was the beast but when Robert looked at the Liknorm, he found the beast in an even worse position than his.

Then Robert, saw Abraham close near the beast and after grabbing the beast's shoulder, the whole pressure was lifted.

Robert knew that Abraham was extremely strong but for the first time, he realized the true nature of Abraham's strength. All the others in the group were also having the same feeling. Utter admiration and fear at the same time.

Seeing that the group was getting up, Abraham looked at the Liknorm and said.

"Do you know how to speak?"

The Liknorm continued to fix Abraham for a few seconds and then it opened its mouth slightly.

"Yes," said the Liknorm. The voice was distinct, deep dark, and a bit heavy. It was as if the one speaking wasn't quite used to the act. In a way, it sounded similar to the way the Dalki would speak, yet this voice had a different tone to it.

"Good, you will not attack any of the humans here. You will train together with them. In return, I will help you evolve. When I say evolve I don't just mean to an emperor rank. You will keep rising the rank until you reach the demon tier. Is it clear?" With a commanding tone, Abraham spoke unsure if the taming said by the system meant that the beast would obey all his commands.

Then Abraham looked at the rest and spoke.

"You all should have just listened to my conversation with the Liknorm right now. Humanoids are intelligent beasts and this one has agreed to stop fighting. From everything that happened since our coming to this planet, all of you should have an idea of your own strength. From fighting against the Furry hounds to watching the fight between Robert and the Liknorm." Abraham paused after speaking these words looking at each of them.

Some had their heads down like Pele and Julia remembering their fights and others like Robert and Happy were giving Abraham a nod. Seeing that everyone understood, Abraham continued to speak.

"From today onward, this will be our settlement. We will be living here and trained to become better. Gwen, you are responsible for training Happy, Julia, and Pele. You will need to fight against each other and practice the Qi energy. When they are ready, you will lead them outside to fight against beasts. Robert and Liknorm, the two of you will be in a competition against each other. You will go outside and fight beasts above the intermediate tier. The one with the most crystals will get half of the other share. But do not be rash. Opponents above the king tier will be fought as a team. But first, you will have to clear the settlement of all the remaining furry hounds." spoke Abraham.

Everyone seemed to be in deep thought. But as they planned to ask Abraham about what he was going to do, they saw that he has already left and was walking toward the tower.

Abraham walked until he finally arrived at the location of the tower.

The street that led to it finally ended and there was now a large empty ring of space surrounding the tower. The circle had several paths leading off towards other streets surrounded by buildings, but nothing apart from the tower stood alone in the center.

As Abraham approached closer to the tower, there was a single large double door with an arched entrance. The door was engraved with strange patterns. On the door in the center was a circular hole that seemed to go a few inches deep.

"It's a lock," the system said. "These doors, I've seen them in my... in vampire castle before. They're impossible to open without some type of key or mechanism. These doors are supposed to even withstand the attack from vampire leaders but I don't know about you."

The system said. "Do you remember that red blood crystal you received from defeating the king-tier beast? Why don't you place that on the door and see what happens? This is what I want to say but I'm sure you already know that."

Doing exactly as the system said, Abraham took out the red blood crystal from his inventory and placed it in the strange hole inside the door.

The sounds of mechanical locks from behind the door being unlocked were made. Gears started to shift and the doors started to pull inwards, opening up a way inside the tower.

Once the doors had finished opening, at the same time, several torches from inside the tower started to light up, one by one as if it was leading and showing Abraham where to go.

Abraham still possessed the blood crystal in his hand. When inserting it into the door, it only required him to place it. He found even after taking it out, the doors still remained open.

As Abraham took a single step into the tower, the system popped up with another message.

[You have entered a Vampire tomb]
