Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Everything was black, Caleb didn't know if he was dead again or if he was in one of those mental spaces where this strange woman with white skin appeared.

He couldn't see anything but he could feel, he could feel his body changing, his limbs stretching and lengthening, a wave of power swept through his body.

Suddenly he could see the dark veil that covered him disappear and the light of the sun appear again. It took him a moment for his eyes to adjust to the light, once he did he stood up and looked around when his attention was caught by noises coming from behind him.

He turned around and saw the village chief and several other men staring at him with shocked expressions on their faces but what really intrigued him was the fact that they were much smaller than he remembered.

He looked up and noticed that the trees were also much smaller than before. He then looked at his body and that's where he found that he had changed and that he was now much taller with a much more muscular build, fewer spikes on the body and new claws which were sharper than the old ones.

"Did I evolve?" Caleb wondered, admiring his new body.

He thought he was evolving into an alpha beowolf but what he is now is different, he is much bigger than an alpha beowolf being the size of a goliath.

He turned to the chief and the rest of the men of the village who had been watching him for a while.

"Has anyone ever seen a grimm like this?"

"No never!"

"At first I thought it was an alpha beowolf but now that I see him, he's much bigger and scarier!"

"Who would have thought that a beowolf could have become such a monster!"

The chief who had remained silent finally decided to speak.

"It doesn't matter if you see him as a monster, the thing is that it's partly thanks to him that our village is still standing today!"

The men turned to him with questioning eyes after hearing what he had just said.

"What do you mean by that chief?"

"What I mean is that he was the one who warned me of the arrival of the horde and he was probably also the one who decimated half of the horde by himself, which allowed us to survive!"

A silence settled in the clearing as the men considered what their leader had just said. Everyone knew perfectly well that if they were still alive it was partly thanks to a grimm and it was really difficult for them to accept it.

The chief approached under the gaze of Caleb who, to put himself at his level, had to squat down so that his head was in front of him.

"I know I've said it before but I want to thank you for everything you've done for our village, sincerely!"

Caleb stared at him for a moment before nodding which caused surprised expressions to appear on the faces of the men behind, not expecting the grimm to understand what their leader had just said to him.

'Giggle' "I really wonder what kind of grimm you are so you can understand me!"

The chief stepped back then turned around indicating to his men that it was time to return to the village. Caleb watched them go while thinking that it was also time for him to leave, after having evolved he had enough strength to be able to survive in this world.

He rolled over and got on all fours, then started to run. To his surprise the fact that he had grown taller did not affect his speed, on the contrary he was much faster than he had ever been, he was moving at top speed through the trees in search of his next destination.

-----------------

Several days had passed and Caleb was still running around looking for a place to stay. He was currently in a forest in a mountain when he came to what looked like a cave. It was a good place where he could stay temporarily.

When he was about to enter the cave, something alerted him, something he had felt before, a feeling that all grimms have when they sense the negative emotions of humans.

He turned and could see in the distance what looked like smoke rising in the sky which was already dark gray from the clouds.

Seeing this, Caleb put the idea of resting in the cave aside and headed towards where the smoke was coming from.

He moved nimbly through the forest but the closer he got to the source the less negative emotions he could feel, probably because most people had already been killed by the grimms.

He finally came out of the forest and was able to see a village in the distance completely ravaged by grimms. He headed for the village but when he got there most of the grimms were gone as well as the people who lived there.

he could feel a faint presence of fear but it suddenly vanished as if something was hiding her or making her undesirable.

Suddenly a howl rang out and Caleb looked up to see a nervermore flying overhead. He circled over a house and ended up landing on it as if he was looking for something.

Clabe walked over to him and growled to make his presence known. The nervermore turned his head towards him and stared at him for a moment before Caleb roared clearly showing his desire to smash that big chicken.

The nevermore spread its wings and howled in turn accepting Caleb's challenge then flew into the sky before launching a wave of feathers right at Caleb who dodged all the feathers without difficulty.

The nevermore sent several more feathers but caleb continued to dodge them. Seeing that it didn't work he got annoyed and started flying straight towards caleb who was just waiting to close the distance between him and the grimm.

When the nevermore was within reach, caleb leaned on the ground then jumped in the air catching the nevermore at the same time who clearly did not expect him to jump.

He landed on the ground pinning the nevermore who was struggling with all his strength but in a quick movement caled caught the head of the nervermore in his mouth before ripping it off with a sharp blow.

He then threw the body of the nevermore on the house on which it had previously rested, completely destroying it, leaving only the foundation of the house intact.

The body disintegrated into black particles that entered Caleb's body before he turned around ready to leave when he felt that feeling of fear again. It was very faint, almost impossible to feel, but Caleb managed to guess where it was coming from and it was from the house he had just destroyed.

He walked towards the house but saw nothing apart from the rubble then his gaze was caught by something. The house rested on a wooden foundation which was raised above the ground leaving space in between.

Caleb grabbed the foundation and in one fell swoop ripped it off revealing something he hadn't expected. Below the foundation was a little boy with black hair and a purple streak with green and white clothes and a little girl with orange hair, a black jacket and rather worn pink pants. The two stood in a completely frightened hug.
