Chapter 27: Dante's Hunting Session Part 2

Dante was walking through the dark forest along with his minion, Roshan. While treading the dark path, numerous thoughts plagued his mind regarding the information he had recently gained.

It was mostly about the attribute information along with the power index information.

The attribute information was what interested him the most since it symbolized his body and power. If he wanted to become stronger, the attribute assessment would be the best way for him to become one.

In any case, a lot of his questions about the attribute assessment had been answered through the notification screen messages.

'Training actually increases my attribute though it would be incredibly hard.'

'The system also unshackled my biological limit, meaning that if I wanted to. I could train for hundreds of years instead of using the system.'

'This sparks an interesting question in itself. Should I simply train until I reach the top or use the attribute assessment?'

Dante had this question trapped within his mind. He wanted to find the answer to this question, and he did. It was a lot simpler than he thought.

'They aren't mutually exclusive from one another so why don't I use the both of them?'

This was the plan he had in mind. When a wall in terms of attributes emerges before him. He could simply use the system to bash through the wall and continue on in his training. It might be considered cheating, but oh well, that was part of his abilities.

Anyway, There was a reason for Dante to avoid using his attribute. And the reason was none other than saving them for something important.

For example, an attribute absolutely increases one point. If he trains his strength to 40 instead of using 40 attributes, then he would save a lot of them for numbers beyond 40. If Dante finds it hard to pass through the 40-point barrier, then he could use his saved attribute to easily bypass the barrier.

It might not be good for him in the short term, but it would be better in the long term.

Dante was quite sure that the price of the attribute would get higher and higher. So, he thought of this as a long-term investment.

Other than that, the way to increase attributes was through experience, unlike normal leveling, where attribute points would be given per level. The experience wasn't normally thrown into leveling bar. They instead have a bar of their own.

Like biomass, the experience was one of the main currencies within the system. He could use it to increase his level or increase his attribute.

Dante planned to increase his level first as he wanted to check what he would gain if leveled up. Afterward, he would probably save experience and not spend them for a short while.

'Though, it has been a while since we started walking. No monsters have been discovered yet. Strange,'

He furrowed his eyebrows upon thinking of the silence that enveloped the dark forest. He turned his gaze to Roshan, who stood right beside him and calmly questioned.

"Do you hear or see something?"

Unlike himself, Roshan had good senses in the dark forest. His minion could see or hear something from a distance away easily without that much of a problem. So with this in mind, Dante would always ask for some information from his minion.

Roshan looked at Dante before slowly shaking its head.

From the looks of it, Roshan didn't see or hear anything within the dark forest. Dante raised an eyebrow as he sighed at him. The silence was never a good thing in the dark forest, so he prepared his rifle and gave an order to Roshan.

"Prepare yourself, something might ambush us out of nowhere."

Dante calmly ordered as he began to survey the darkness that surrounded him. Roshan nodded with its two snail-like eyes and jumped onto the branches atop the two of them. With this, the two of them were in their combat operative position.

He kept observing his surroundings as each of his breaths echoed within his heart. It didn't take time for the rustling of the bushes to be noticed him, and upon noticing it. The sound got stronger than ever before.

He turned his gaze upwards and saw numerous leaves falling from the branches. A fight was currently ongoing at the top, and it was hard for him to assist his minion because of the darkness.

'This is becoming problematic.'

'What should I do?'

He questioned himself before noticing a couple of rustles not coming from the top but instead came from the ground around him. He squinted his eyes and took out many flares from his pocket.

Dante had a bad feeling in his heart. It was the feeling of being surrounded, and he hoped that he was wrong.

After taking out the flares from his pocket, he proceeded to throw them around himself as they ignited with the gleaming radiance of crimson red.

*TANG!* *TANG!* *TANG!*

The flares then illuminated the entirety of the area around Dante, resulting in the unveiling of those around him.

*HISSS!!!* *HISSS!!!*

And unfortunately for Dante, he was bad feeling was correct. After all, around him were dozens of Gigantis Kryftis. It looks like the family members of the young one he had previously killed were not after him.

In fact, He offended quite a lot of them by hunting that young one throughout the forest.

"So, you all are here for revenge, right?"

Dante questioned as dozens of the monsters kept staring at him with their giant eyeballs along with their grumbling mouths on their bodies. An answer wasn't given, but the rustling echoes from the top as a monster fell before Dante.

It was a pale young one, a bit bigger than the one he had hunted.

"Took you a while to defeat it, Roshan."

A smirk formed on his face as a monster landed right beside him. Roshan had tons of blood throughout its pale body. It also had a lot of scratches on its body, which caused Dante's smirk to disappear and a frown to appear.

He knew that this would be a tough battle, so Dante began his preparations. He took out a lot of stun grenades, which should have been used for escaping, yet were about to be utilized for battle.

"Roshan, prepare yourself and close your eyelids."

"I want you to destroy all of their eyeballs under a couple of seconds."

"It doesn't matter if they don't die."

"Just destroy their vision."

Dante gave a cold order which resulted in Roshan calmly nodding and closing its eyelids. Seeing this, the edges of Dante's lips rose as he looked at the monsters that surrounded them.

They were avoiding the flares, but it was clear that they weren't planning on giving up. So he planned on giving them what they wanted.

Death.

"You all should have stayed hidden."

Uttering such cold words, Dante threw the stun grenades toward the monster after activating them. Then, a second after their landing. The stun grenades exploded one after another.

*BANG!!!*

Upon the ignition of the stun grenades was the radiant light of the silver sun encompassing all.

It brought upon brightness brighter than what the flares could ever produce.

And after a second of brightness, the radiance dissipated. Roshan then opened its eyelids as Dante gave an order.

"Go…"

Without delay and hesitation, Roshan charged with all its might, intending to destroy every eyeball it could find.
